About this deal

I've reached out to where I bought the system in the hope they can obtain me a new one, I appreciate a cost will be involved I don't expect it for free, however, my question is if this doesn't work out, what else is best to do? One thing I am learning about is the sync control. When using Direct mode I get some lag but I seem to be unable to alter the delay manually. If you switch the mode to 7.1 you can manually alter the sync and now we're happy with it on all the devices. I am going to look into this a bit more as I get used to the unit and get time to play with it.

I know nothing about speaker cable other than how to connect it and what it looks like, any suggestions? This is supposed to be 4K UHD in 2016. What a complete pile of crap. I never looked at Supremacy nor Ultimatum, I was that put off. Obviously the old low grade master is being used. It reminded me of when Universal released 'The Game' on Blu Ray and it looked shite, only to be corrected for a Criterion Release which turned out very good indeed from a restored print, albeit from a 2K scan. Don't know it that was detailed enough, but it's a fairly standard room set up as far as I'd think. The HDCP ports are in limited supply so I have my Blu ray player, Sky+ and Apple TV on these, with my Steam link in one of the standard HDMI ports. All good so far. I upgraded my old crappy Eltax speakers to KEF Q500 and Q200C speakers at the front and they sound very good with the receiver (no surprises there). Audio format: Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital Plus, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dolby TrueHD, DTS, DTS 96/24, DTS-HD

Never available again

Just an FYI though, I'm not going to include any independent docs or IMAX presentations in the list. I'm certainly disappointed to hear how this one turned out. Stupidly I placed some degree of confidence in Universal simply because the thought of using a telecine of all things just seemed ludicrously unrealistic to me this day in age, and downright nonsensical for a UHD release. Universal remain the most inconsistent major studio, and it's a shame to continue having to consider it a risk buying any of their catalogue titles blindly.

The centre speaker would go directly under the tv screen, or on a shelf underneath if its to large. That might have something to do with the surround speakers' placement in the CNET listening room; we have them a foot higher than our seated height. That is, after all, the way Dolby has always recommended placing surround-channel speakers. The front and rear speakers together created a coherent, room-filling soundstage.I watched Jason Bourne over Christmas and it was pretty decent looking as it should be, yet variable given the different digital and film cameras used to shoot the movie, 4/5 PQ. There are so many brands out there at the moment from very cheap to crazy expensive and a lot of questions that i get from people are what are the best speakers to buy for a Home Cinema system. Let’s make it clear right now. There is no such a thing as best speakers so don’t loose your sleep over it. If you are in the mainstream category as most people are then probably you are tight on budget and although you want to have a quality speaker setup you don’t want to pay an extreme amount of money to have it. I just replaced my TX-NR515 with a 555 this morning, in preparation for a move up to 4K in the near future. Home cinema speaker systems can be distinguished in 2 categories. The first category is the one that you buy each speaker individually and build your speaker system by yourself. In this category are people that are already experienced with audio systems and know exactly what they are looking for. There are a lot of speakers to choose from so you have a lot of flexibility in this situation. Almost all speaker brands offer individual speakers so you can choose from a wide collection of speakers of different sizes and specifications. The surround speakers offer single 8cm cones each, with theoretical power of 130W. These speakers really are very light and you should be careful where you place them because it is very easy to fall over since they can either be mounted on a base or on the wall.
