The first generation of the Bambino comes in three styles (called ‘versions’ by Orient) while the second generation comes in those same three plus an extra two versions. There is also a Bambino “Small Seconds,” which takes the second hand and moves it to a chronograph like sub-dial and adds some Roman numerals. And recently, Orient has released an “open heart” version, which takes design styles from both generations of watches and combines it with an open heart dial where you can see the internal mechanism. This watch from Orient made its way to the hearts of the diving community because of its price point and the fact that it comes with all distinct features of a genuine dive watch: luminous hands and indices, a screw-down crown, and a one-way rotating bezel. Movement and ISO Certifications Most of these calibers haven’t gone through technical improvements or innovations, even if the technology is present and sufficient. Like any good watch, it’s water-resistant. According to Citizen, the device is resistant up to 100 feet (30 m) underwater. Although this is useful, you shouldn’t test it out. Citizen warns you to not swim with it on.

This Orient Star watch has 24 jewels and runs on a 40S60 caliber. Orient isn’t afraid to move away from traditional styles as well. For me on this one, they do. I've got what I think is considered a Bamino 1 on a leather strap and it's a nice, clean, simple quasi-dress watch. It's thin enough to fit under cuffs, but I don't like leather on a dress watch generally (not a huge fan of leather bands at all, really). Don't get me wrong, it's a nice looking piece and I wear it frequently.
