Information about the brightness of the screen. It is measured in candela per square metre (cd/m²).
The peak brightness of 250-nits may seem low on paper, but the monitor will be more than bright enough under normal viewing conditions. In fact, you’ll want to reduce the brightness a bit out of the box. As a VA panel monitor with 121% sRGB coverage, the colour representation is deep and vibrant. The verdant and sprawling Montana landscape found in Far Cry 5 (PC) is seemingly injected with new life – the sun breaking through forest canopies, the shifting shades and contrasts of the open water, and the bright flare of muzzle flashes, are a delight to behold. The monitor boasts a 144HZ refresh rate and 1ms response time, so manages to keep up when things get a bit hectic without breaking an electrical-sweat. It’s a real treat to be able to access a VA panel’s colour credentials at such respectable speeds.The NTSC (1953) color space is introduced in 1953 by the FCC with the appearance of color television and has a wider gamut than the sRGB. Note that there is always some disparity between how emissive objects (monitor) and non-emissive objects (printed sheet) appear. The representation of shades in this image depends on the camera and your own screen, it’s not designed to show exactly how the shades appear in person. It still helps demonstrate some of the relative differences between the original intended sRGB shade and what the monitor outputs, however. Full profiling and appropriate colour management on the application would provide a tighter match, our intention here is to show what can be expected in a non colour-managed environment. The two introduce support for DisplayPort 1.4 and 1.3, however the implementation is less than perfect. Some of the newer monitors that leverage DisplayPort 1.4 or 1.3 standards don't function as designed on "Maxwell" (GeForce GTX 900 series) and "Pascal" (GeForce 10-series) graphics cards, with users reporting a range of bugs from blank screens until the operating system loads, to frozen boot sequences. Our suggestions regarding use of VSync also apply, but you’re using Nvidia Control Panel rather than AMD Radeon Settings to control this. The setting is found in ‘Manage 3D settings’ under ‘Vertical sync’, where the final option (‘Fast’) is equivalent to AMD’s ‘Enhanced Sync’ setting. You’ll also notice ‘G-SYNC Compatible’ listed under ‘Monitor Technology’ in this section, as shown below. Make sure this is selected (it should be if you’ve set everything up correctly in ‘Set up G-SYNC’). These IPS models offer flawless VRR performance and a fast response time speed for no ghosting, but the contrast ratio is not as high at around 1,000:1. DCI P3 is a color space, introduced in 2007 by the SMPTE. It is used in digital cinema and has a much wider gamut than the sRGB. Recently upgraded my monitor to the AOC Q27G2U 27" 144Hz G-Sync Compatible monitor. There was also an HDR mode hidden in the OSD that I decided to try, and while I can appreciate it may not be the same high HDR standard we expect from much more expensive HDR600+ or FALD panels, it did give me a very similar look and style as I have experienced on other mid-range HDR monitors in the past.
