About this deal

That is until she wins a school competition and finds herself heading to Nepal on the adventure of a lifetime to observe red pandas. Along with two other children, Leo and Anita, Tilly will be helping conservationists and will get to do all sorts of exciting things. But when one red panda can not be found will Tilly’s dream adventure turn into a nightmare… Red Pandas in Nepal: A Community-Based Approach to Landscape-Level Conservation / Ang Phuri Sherpa, Sonam Tashi Lama, Saroj Shrestha, Brian Hamilton Williams and Damber Bista The red panda encounter is an amazing one-to-one experience lasting between 30 and 40 minutes which will leave you grinning from ear to ear (we also have an option for two participants). This smelly liquid also serves another purpose: Males release it to mark their territory when searching for a mate in winter and early spring. They don’t have a big window: females are only fertile for a couple of days a year. They typically give birth to one to four cubs that remain with them for about 90 days. Males take little or no interest in the cubs, leaving the cub-rearing to the mothers. Threats and conservation

Red Pandas: An Updated Analysis of Threats Caused by Trade / Roland Melisch, Ling Xu, Saket Badola, James Compton and Stefan Ziegler Farley, a young red panda, has been through a lot in his short life. Watch him grow and thrive under the care of his keepers. The Evolution of the Family Ailuridae: Origins and Old-World Fossil Record / Manuel J. Salesa, Stéphane Peigné, Mauricio Antón and Jorge Morales I just couldn’t resist this superadorable book when I spied it on Netgalley! A book about red pandas? About pandas? And also about a red panda who just wants a book about themselves! Cute!

Thankyou to Netgalley and Jess Butterworth for allowing me early access to this wonderful little book. The Conservation Status of the Red Panda and the Implication of the New Evidence of Two Species / Angela Glatston, L.E.M. de Boer and Frank Princée I was so proud of Red and how she kept going and I loved that Gee was there to motivate her and be emotional support. So sweet! The Conservation Status of the Red Panda in North-East Myanmar / Aung Ko Lin, L. Zwang Lum, Ngwe Lwin, Saw Soe Aung, Win Naing Oo and Mark Grindley With adorable watercolor and pencil illustration, How This Book Got Red delights the readers with the depictions of both red pandas and giant pandas. Red’s emotions rise and fall as his confidence in his illustrated story ebbs and flows. Readers can all relate to feeling nervous about creating something and putting it out in the world. When another red panda finds his book and reads it, the previously ignored red panda community shares their excitement and cheers for Red’s creativity and confidence.

Led by one of the world’s leading authorities and advocates for red panda conservation, this new edition includes data from the Population and Habitat Viability (PHVA) workshops conducted in three of the species’ range states, Nepal, China, and India; these workshops utilized firsthand information on the decrease of red panda populations due to factors including deforestation, illegal pet trade, human population growth, and climate change. This book also includes updated information from the first edition on reproduction, anatomy, veterinary care, zoo management, and fossil history. Red Panda Husbandry for Reproductive Management / Angela Glatston, Katherine Whitehouse-Tedd, Mark Farnworth and Sarah Spooner

But with poachers also on the hunt for Iniya, a red panda about to have cubs, it soon becomes a race against time to find her first. Wide-ranging account of the red panda ( Ailurus fulgens) covers all the information that is available on this species both in and ex situ

And the ending was just wonderful, it made me very happy to see that Red managed to change their world and make it more inclusive. So Red sets out to write her own book, where she and other red pandas can see themselves. It is hard and frustrating and it doesn't seem good enough. But when others discover her abandoned manuscript, they clamor for it to be finished. Maybe the world is ready for red panda representation after all.

The Status, Distribution and Conservation of Red Panda Ailurus fulgens in Bhutan / Letro Letro, Tandin Tandin, Sonam Wangdi, Thinley Wangdi, Pema Dendup and Joanne Millar Written by long-standing red panda experts as well as those specializing in fields involving cutting-edge red panda research A great story with cute little drawing to accompany it. It tells the story of Tilly who's gone on a visit to Nipel on a school trip to volunteer and help at a Red Panda Rescue centre. She learnt how to find the pandas, replant bamboo, look put for poacher traps and much more. My little girl loves Red Pandas so this was always going to capture her interest. It's a steady read that charts Tilly's Red Panda mission when she wins the chance to go on an expedition in Nepal to find Red Pandas – finally some adventure in her life! I loved the way she charts her objectives along the way and the obstacles that might stop her achieving them - it's a great way for kids to see solution focused thinking in action. There's highs and lows on the mission and lots to learn too. My daughter said 'she thought it was great and loved the Red Pandas' and we've been finding out more about them since.

Red pandas have shot to viral fame for their adorable looks, but there’s a lot more to these elusive animals than their kitten-like faces and striking reddish-brown coats. All in all, an adorable and fun book about inclusivity, about having to step up to make something happen, about friendship, and there are some gorgeous illustrations to make the story come to life even more. I would recommend it~ As soon as she arrives in the Himalayan mountains, Tilly loves the Adventure Club Centre. As well as a friendly team of vets and expedition experts, there are tents to sleep in, a gorgeous dog called Mr Fluff and, most excitingly of all, a tame red panda! In my classroom I could see doing an activity where the kids write books about themselves or "kids like me" or maybe even other things that they just can't find books about. I also think there could be lots of great conversations about own voices books and how authors can tell stories and share their own perspectives, like Red was able to do with her book.In this book we meet two friends, Red and Gee. Red is a Red Panda (no surprise there) and Gee is a Giant Panda! They are the best of friends and are both eager to dive into a book about pandas. But what is this??? There is ZERO mention of red pandas???? Of course Red takes offense (which I found at first a bit over the top until we saw that the world was very much based on being a Giant Panda and then I could very much understand) and decides to write her own book about Red Pandas! I love her dedication and I also liked that she didn’t just BOOM wrote a book and done, no we see that she is trying her best to make it as good as possible and goes through some bumps along the way (one that includes if anyone would be interested). Red and Gee are pals and enjoy doing panda things together, but when they read a book about pandas they make a terrible discovery. There are no red pandas in the book! Red Panda not only presents an overview of the current state of our knowledge about this intriguing species but it is also intended to bring the red panda out of obscurity and into the spotlight of public attention. Red pandas live in the rainy mountain forests of Nepal, India, Bhutan, northern Myanmar (Burma), and central China. They spend the vast majority of their lives in trees, where they sleep and sunbathe. Bamboo Distribution in Nepal and Its Impact on Red Pandas / Damber Bista, Bishal Bhattrai, Saroj Shrestha, Sonam Tashi Lama, Man Kumar Dhamala, Krishna Prasad Acharya, Shant Raj Jnawali, Manoj Bhatta, Ang Phuri Sherpa and Annapurna Nanda Das
