About this deal

I'm deducting a few points because humor aside, I'm not entirely sure how well Road to the Erdtree will land with readers who aren't familiar with Elden Ring's lore and characters. Otherwise, this is a perfectly fine comedy that might be even better than a straightforward adaptation of the game. There's actual references to __gameplay strategy__ (i.e. using soap consummable) and __building your character__ (building strength or int).

Margit spares the main character because he pities him that he has no armor or clothes, and is using pathetic wolf mimic to fight him.

Sci-fi

Sure, the foundation of Elden Ring could probably lend itself fine to a straight manga adaptation, but where would the fun be in that? Communicating comprehensive lore is a job for a wiki; what we really enter the realm of Souls games for is to be screwed with. And The Road To The Erdtree is as enthusiastic about screwing with its main character, and thus the reader, as FromSoft's Game Of The Year was about messing with its players.

The humor still works, even if you don't know a thing about Elden Ring. There's a surprising amount of mileage to the gag involving Aseo and the storage of his flasks. It helps that the art is utterly gorgeous. Very seldom does The Road to the Erdtree break from Elden Ring's signature “look” (even if it's just in the name of doing wild takes or reaction faces). Elden Ring just looks phenomenal, even when it's punked to such a level. With the number of story references to in-game mechanics, it's easy to imagine the story as an isekai! Nov 25 i☆Ris the Movie - Full Energy!! - Anime Film Teaser Visual Revealed at i☆Ris Live Stage in Anime NYC & i☆Ris First Performance in New York Successfully Completed If I haven't made it clear, there are plenty surprises in store for Elden Ring fans. But do note, you ought to play the game before reading. It's a treat to fans of Elden Ring such as myself and a bit refreshing to see the grimdark world of Elden Ring portrayed in a more lighthearted way. While we only have one volume of The Road to the Erdtree, I can't wait to see Aseo's journey continue in subsequent issues. From Software's Action RPG "ELDEN RING" has been a huge hit with over 16.6 million units shipped worldwide and continues to attract more and more players. A gag manga "ELDEN RING The Road to the Erdtree", a unique interpretation of the world, will be serialized in the free web magazine “COMIC Hu” on September 4, 2022, with two stories published at once. This is the first comic of ELDEN RING. You basically follow the __real quest of Ranni__ and the references that are made along the way are very accurate. It takes you by surprise a bit. They even left in the funny/weird way of how Blaidd is initially summoned (when you need to snap your fingers when you hear howling) and also the fact that Ranni shows up at night only

I love Elden Ring. I've yet to beat it, but it's an incredibly expensive and well thought-out open world game. The lore is incredibly rich, so an adaptation that either follows the intended progression route of the game or maybe even a story that just happens to take place in the same world sounds like a great idea. If that is the book you were expecting to read like I was, please leave those expectations at the door because that is not this manga. If you want to get the updates about latest chapters, lets create an account and add ELDEN RING: The Road to the Erdtree to your bookmark. I say that because many might come to think that it's some fan-made nonsense, because the tone of the manga will probably take most Elden Ring fans by surprise.

Nov 20 From the U.S. to Japan, You Can Control the Life-Size Moving Gundam from the Comfort of Your Own Home It's a __comedy__ manga. It featured a single real fight in 11 chapters and it basically lasted 2 pannels. Started serialization in the free web magazine "COMIC Hu". Scheduled to be updated on the 4th and 19th of every month.Disclosure: Kadokawa World Entertainment (KWE), a wholly owned subsidiary of Kadokawa Corporation, is the majority owner of Anime News Network, LLC. Yen Press, BookWalker Global, and J-Novel Club are subsidiaries of KWE. It's a manga drawn and written by Nikiichi Tobita and it's an officially licensed product by Bandai/FromSoftware, published by Yen Press. I expected and would have liked it to be an actual canon and serious manga, but it's not the end of the world.
