As with last year's model, I'm amazed by the amount of grime the S8 Pro Ultra mops off my floors, even with plain water. The liquid transferred to the dirty water tank in the base station is always brown and gross—be sure to rinse it well. At first we thought that the manufacturer had made a mistake here. But with a little thought we realised: the colour of the power cable was chosen deliberately because it will hardly be visible on white walls. Because these two models are so similar, I set them both up side by side and tested them simultaneously. On the bottom, the robot features six cliff sensors that prevent it from falling down the stairs, a carpet detection sensor, one side brush for edges, the main brushes, and the VibraRise Mop cloth mount. Notably, the S8 Pro Ultra's VibraRise mop cloth mount is not detachable. In other words, you can swap out the mopping cloth (if you buy extra), but you cannot remove the actual mounting plate from the robot. This design quirk sets the S8 Pro Ultra apart from most other two-in-ones, which feature removable mopping plates. The mop cloth mount is not detachable
Then the robot vacuum slightly nudges the object, recognises that there is an obstacle and looks for a way around it. Video call to anywhere in your home through your robot. As I learned from testing other robot vacuums with this feature, if you wait too long to empty the dirty water tank, the liquid in there really starts to smell. I recommend periodically washing the inside with soap, or wiping it down with a disinfectant, before reinstalling the tank in the base station.
Setting Up and Using the S7 MaxV Ultra
During a one-hour mopping run, the X1 Omni returned to its base three separate times: once to empty its dustbin and twice to clean its mopping pads. You know the drill from regular mopping: the more pressure applied to the mop, the better the result. Robot vacuum cleaners are not designed for such high-pile carpets. We recommend using a powerful Dyson cordless vacuum. Multi-plane floating brush keeps the brush close to the floor on uneven surfaces for better agitation. Based on internal testing carried out by the manufacturer according to IEC 62885-2:2016 / 5.8 standards, using Max+ mode with a full battery. Actual results may vary according to the home environment.
The result: your floors are cleaned with a clean mop. So dirt isn't carried from room to room, but ends up in the dirty water tank (where it also belongs). This robot vacuum cleaner is well-suited to large households, due to its powerful battery and intelligent navigation system. It can easily map the whole floor and ensure the cleaning of all rooms. You get a glimpse into the inner workings of the robot vacuum if you open the lid (which is surrounded by a silver frame).Special feature: Carpets are "shaded" on the map. To wake up the voice assistant, just say, "OK Yiko," and wait for it to reply, "I'm here." You can even say "come clean here" if you're in the same room as the robot, and it navigates to your position. Similarly, when you tell it, "don't vacuum here," the vacuum moves to a different spot. Yiko is enabled by default; to disable it, just navigate to More Settings in the Ecovacs app, select Yiko Voice Assistant, and toggle it off. After what time interval should the S7 MaxV return to the Ultra station to clean the mop (10, 15, 20 ..40 minutes?)
Also good to know: The mop is moistened at the station before the robot starts. This means that the mop is wet from the first moment of cleaning and your floor can be mopped optimally. 👍 Regulate the mopping intensity via the app The app offers many cleaning customization options and settings, and it takes time to learn them all. I suggest reading the included user manual and tapping into all the different app menus to familiarize yourself with the cleaning options and settings.
