About this deal

Masticating juicers are also called slow juicers or cold press juicers, and work by ‘chewing’ fruit and vegetables before crushing or squeezing out the juice at a gentle rate. This provides a high yield and maximum nutritional content plus the juice may have a longer shelf life. Many ‘slow’ juicers have almost caught up with centrifugal juicers in terms of speed and they’ll also be quieter while in use. A whole apple was juiced in under five seconds in our test, which we found impressive for a slow juicer such as this. We were also surprised with its powerful juicing screw, which got to work on fruits and vegetables without us having to manually push the fruit into the chute. It also comes with handy measurement indicators on the main juice casing that shows you how much juice you are allowing for.

As with most masticating juicers we found that it performed much better when we chopped up the ingredients before juicing, because it would struggle to get through apple skin or orange pips. However, it's a sturdy choice that impressed us with how quiet it was during operation. Our juice had a higher pulp content than most, but it was low in froth because of the slow speeds when juicing. Besides its speeds, there are smart design features, such as its large pulp container and two-litre juice jug with an airtight lid, meaning that you can juice a batch and it’ll keep for up to three days in the fridge, and a flexible nozzle that allows you to juice straight into a glass. Cold Spin Technology allows juice to flow up through the stainless steel cutting disc surrounded by an Italian-made mesh filter. This ensures there is no marginal temperature increase of less than 1°C. The reason for this is because many centrifugal juicers get a reputation for killing vital antioxidants and nutrients, which is the main point of drinking juice. Noise ReductionWith a larger than usual 88mm / 3.5inch feed chute which can accommodate whole fruits and vegetables and can extract 2L of nutrient rich juice up to 5 times faster than a cold press machine. The noise reduction technology means that noise output is reduced by up to 40% when using the quiet setting.

There are two types of juicer, which are known as centrifugal and masticating. They use different methods to extract the juice and are sometimes referred to as fast and slow juicers. Use the 2L seal and store jug to juice for the whole family or store in the fridge for up to 3 days.

Sage have designed this juicer to extract maximum goodness with minimum effort and barely any heat transfer onto food – less than 1%, thanks to Cold Spin Technology, which helps preserve vitamins and nutrients during processing. A machine that suits your daily routine is the best way to encourage you to make juicing a habit, so it’s a good idea not to buy on price alone. Instead, consider how much value different features will add to your new juicing regime. What are the different types of juicer? Made from brushed stainless steel, this sleek space-saving machine is cleverly designed with the pulp bin located behind the unit for better use of your worktop space.

We also liked the large feeding tube, which means you can add quite a few chunks of fruit and vegetables to the top of the chute in one go. While they don’t need to be tiny, you do need to make sure they are chopped to a suitable size, however. When we used it to make a green juice, the Philips juicer struggled a little with the larger vegetable pieces such as the broccoli florets, so we made sure we cut them down into manageable chunks before inserting. The pear also needed to be chopped into small pieces, but overall the Avance model did well to crush the ingredients effectively and make a good-looking juice with minimal froth. What we love about this juicer is that it is versatile and can take on a large range of vegetables and fruit including bananas, strawberries, tomatoes, watermelons, oranges and also smaller, more fiddly, ingredients such as wheatgrass, pomegranate and nuts. Handy for some of the suggested recipes including 'Bunny Delight', which suggests juicing chilli pepper, red bell pepper, celery, carrot and tomatoes, and 'Love it Up', which features kiwi, raspberries, pomegranate, apple, carrots and lemon. As with the majority of models in our test, trying to figure out how to clip the feeding basket in place took up a little time, but once we had managed to align the top and fix it together, juicing was a simple process. At 71dB it’s one of the quietest models in our test, although the noise levels did raise when it had to deal with harder foods such as apples, pears and carrots. Sage are expert at designing kitchen appliances with cleverly integrated functions to take the stress out of cooking. Their range of smart appliances, which includes kettles, toasters, and blenders, through to their ice cream maker and microwaves, has been exactingly considered to give you perfect results every time, all at the push of a button. Whether its prepping, boiling, whisking, whipping, grilling, cooking and baking, thanks to Sage, cooking has never been so easy. The Smeg CJF01 Citrus Juicer is no multi-tasker, but it is a beautiful appliance that we would never want to take off the kitchen counter. It's larger than most citrus juicers (about the size of a small kettle) but immensely easy to use and set up. The electric juicer starts to spin as soon as you apply the pressure of lemon or orange, and this is strained by a removable pulp filter.Retain Nutrients & Long-lasting Freshness】80 RPM cold pressing technology reserves as much nutrient contents as possible for soft and hard fruits & vegetables like orange, apple, celery, beet ect.. Keep the original state of juice and prolong freshness in the refrigerator. Because it's a cold press juicer this machine works very slowly. It also has a sensitivity to seeds and skin, so we found that there was a lot of prep needed to get a quality glass of juice. On the plus side though, it's a very quiet machine, and most of the parts can go in the dishwasher. The price is also very reasonable for a cold press juicer. The Beko works with a slow 60rpm turning speed that gently crushed the ingredients to retain maximum nutrients. Soft vegetables such as spinach and kale did well on this model, as did fruits such as blueberries and strawberries. It also comes with a second sorbet attachment that is designed for use with frozen fruits.

Once you’ve finished juicing, the Nutri Juicer Cold Plus easily comes apart for efficient cleaning, and the jug and pulp bin can both go in the dishwasher. The Cold Spin technology of the Sage SJE830BSS allows juice to flow up and through the stainless steel cutting disc, which is surrounded by an italian-made mesh filter to reduce the temperature increase to your produce to just 1degree Celsius. Centrifugal juicersare high-speed machines that extract by shredding the fruit or vegetables with spinning blades, before straining it against metal mesh to separate seeds and pith from juice. As well as being speedy, centrifugal juicers are well suited to handling hard fruit and vegetables, such as ginger, apples and carrots. They’re also good for cutting down on food prep time as many have large feed chutes that can accommodate whole apples and veggies. We all know how important it is to include fruit and vegetables in our diet, and a glass of delicious fresh juice is the perfect way to ensure you get your five-a-day. The Nutri Juicer Cold Plus from Sage helps you easily and efficiently juice fruit and veg, producing a nutrient-rich drink that’s as cold as a cold press. The compact footprint of this juicer belies the fact it has a larger feed chute of 88mm, a 2 litre XL juicing jug and is up to five times faster at extracting two litres of juice than a cold press juicer. High Juice Yield & Upgraded Spiral System】Our slow masticating juicer has 7 spiral masticating sections that can perfectly separate juice and pulp, ensuring higher-purity juice and preserving nutritional value. With an auger that spins at 80 RPM, our juicer extracts up to 20% more juice and 30% more vitamins and minerals. The lower speed of 80 RPM means no heat build-up and less oxidation, making it perfect for extracting ginger, celery, wheatgrass, oranges, and more.
