E decided she wanted to try the moulded crystals as her first experiment so followed activity 8 from the booklet. Kids can discover the wonders of chemistry with this well-equipped laboratory set with an excellent selection of 10 different chemicals. It includes a real methylated spirit burner to help when learning about the fascinating chemical reactions involving heat. It slots into the light bulb easily. Now switch on to the rotate setting and watch the images rotate around your room. It makes a slight noise when it rotates but it is not loud enough to distract you. There is also an option to let you choose to listen to a fascinating commentary about the main planets in our solar system. The commentary is slightly loud for my liking, hence I won’t recommend sitting too close to the planetarium. I also learned a few things while supervising, so it is fun for the whole family and definitely a brilliant way of exploring hands on learning for kids who have a natural curiosity for Science and a thirst for exploring and gaining knowledge. The Instruction manual features over 80 different safety tested experiments which are really easy to follow and understand. I love that the safety remains a key element of the Chemistry Lab and you are reminded at each stage of any safety tips. The sound is of a man who speaks calmly about the sun, earth and planets. There isn’t any mention of the constellations which is a shame, however it is a soothing voice none the less and perfect as a bedtime wind down.
