About this deal

I absolutely love this colorway by Little Paws Crochet, because it combines warm and cold tones in the most magical way. Shades of green dance with shades of pink, tied by panels of cream and neutrals. Take a look at the photos and see how every detail has its own distinct character – something to emulate in the future projects for sure! This is a version of original free crochet pattern called Sophie’s Universe CAL by Dedri Uys, available on lookatwhatimade.net. Pretty much. And bear in mind: that was the maximum ban they could give and that was based only on a portion of the charges the Premier League are bringing against them. Everton have accepted the Premier League's punishment while also questioning the fate of other clubs for more breaches. In reality, their case is worlds apart from that being investigated against Man City. Alex Livesey/Getty Images But wasn't the UEFA ban overturned on appeal? What makes the Premier League think their case is more solid?

Have you ever tried ombre yarn? If so, I’m sure you fell in love with it, because it creates fantastic color flow without the fuss of weaving ends. Multicolored yarn is a great choice for this project, if you want to lessen the impact of structural stitches and instead showcase color flow. See for yourself in the photos below. Looking for more sophisticated pinks? There you go, just choose rosy hues and pair them with dusty greens and greys. This small version by Marianne has lovely lacy edging, as you can see in the photos. That's right: it was overturned by the Court of Arbitration for Sport, who found that "most of the alleged breaches were either not established or time-barred."

OK, what makes the cases so different?

I don't see how you can compare the charges in any way. Everton were profligate, took unnecessary and frankly stupid risks -- like reportedly budgeting to finish sixth when, in fact, they ended up 16th -- and in the view of the independent panel, they took some liberties with creative accounting, possibly in good faith. City, on the other hand, are accused of flat-out cheating with some of their charges. These aren't the sort of things you hope to sneak past regulators, and they're not errors you make in good faith. If proved, they're on a whole different level. Crocheter behind the name knike27 decided to use soft earthy tones to create their version of this iconic design. Lots of white combined with delicate shades of yellow and pink in the central part make the whole blanket look light and airy. As you can see in the photos, cleverly placed pops of blue create striking contrast. Yes, except it does raise a whole bunch of ethical and legal questions that, frankly, I'm not sure the Premier League is equipped to deal with. Not yet, anyway. Striking dance of blues and reds becomes the focus of Tomo’s Sophie, as the colors interact with each other in playful sequences. As you can see below, Scheepjes Softfun seems a perfect choice of yarn for this project, because it combines the everyday look of cotton with durability of acrylic. Big, multi-step patterns like today’s hero have one significant advantage – you can stop whenever you want! Make it a decorative mandala, afghan square or baby blanket. Many crocheters are intimidated by big CALs, but remember, that you don’t need to go all the way through – see lovely square by Shamim below!

Well, the first thing to remember is that when we say "the Premier League," we mean the 20 member clubs, not chief executive Richard Masters who, despite his name, isn't some sort of Master of the Universe. The clue is in the name "profit and sustainability rules" -- "sustainability" -- and the goal is to run the league at break even, or close to it. I’m following Anita Buch Jensen’s color scheme. She posted her progress photos on Facebook and I was so impressed with it, I decided to try to do mine like hers. Although I’m not very much into girly palettes, I must say that this one won my heart instantly. Maybe it’s clever combination of pinks, whites and yellows, or strategically placed stems and petals. Anyway, Valerie did fantastic job, so take a look at it below.

Take Everton. The case against them was opened last season and referred to the three seasons before that -- is it fair that the punishment be applied now? Shouldn't the case have been adjudicated and the sanction imposed in 2022-23? That's what the three clubs who were relegated in 2022-23 (Leicester City, Leeds United and Southampton) believe, which is why they're reportedly mulling a lawsuit to seek compensation. In a perfect world, the Premier League would have done just that, but they said the judicial process couldn't be completed in time. This rich colorway is vibrant, but it’s also very sophisticated and inspiring. This version by XantheJS reminds me of colorful Mexican throws, because it employs playful array of colors, each in just the right amount. See it below and feel the power!

There's no suggestion that Everton were wilfully dishonest or deceitful. Manchester City, on the other hand, are charged with failing to give "a true and fair view of the club's financial position," of failing to "include full details" of player and manager remuneration, and of failing to cooperate with Premier League investigators.Another side of green is the one with yellow tint in it, and it instantly reminds me of spring. This delicate palette uses red only for very little details, leaving the rest of the project for greens and whites. See more below in this lovely project by Carlie Jean Fullam. Why not go all white? Well, if you are not a fan of weaving in ends, or just need something extremely delicate and sophisticated, making your Sophie in one color is a great choice. As you can see, the pattern sings even in pure white, because the stitches are so beautifully designed. Take a look below on Margaret’s work. This project looks like it’s made with ombre yarn, but in fact it’s not! Piccoloninja decided to plan her colors in clever way, which suggests that they go from the vibrant yellow to the deepest navy blue. See below how eight different colors were employed to create this optical illusion.

Chelsea haven't been charged yet, but based on what has come out in the media thus far, it doesn't seem as if it's on a similar scale to the City situation. And, more importantly, this was under the previous owner and the current owners flagged it up themselves. It feels like over the past few years the Premier League has taken a renewed interest -- and a harder line -- on the financial dealings of its clubs. Why is that?Pinks and cream work perfectly together, just like cherries and vanilla ice cream. Blanket like this will be a great addition to feminine bedroom, or unforgettable baby accessory, cherished for generations. Take a look below at the lovely version by Tina. I love seeing how vastly different can versions of one project be, and these blankets are fantastic examples. Hachan decided to use Scheepjes Whirl ombre yarn in Mid Morning Mocha’roo colorway for their dark Sophie, which you can see in the top photo. Isn’t it stunning?
