About this deal

Romance so pure and warm that will definitely give you butterflies in your stomach because it's precious.

Yay!! Sarah writes a good contemporary! Gah contempory is so hard for me and I get so nervous when my favorite authors go there. This was a sweet story with all the feels! I loved that she wrote about someone with a disability but didn't go into a victum place. Evie was strong, indepediant and working on herself and I loved that she was in a good place, but still had to deal with the epilepsie. I have daughters who are working their way to a good place with their disability and it was so awesome to see her handling it. We are trying to get them to a place they can adult on their own and this was just a hopeful book for me to read right now. Plus! JAKE! Dang! Sarah write me up some more men to Love! Geez girl! I was fanning my face over this beautiful man:} Such a good love story with some real life obsticals and situations keeping these two on their toes. Really enjoyed this fun, sweet romance!! Edit: I upgraded the rating because a) The moments that were good were really good and I can't let the bad overshadow them. b) I am not grumpy anymore. Single dad with trust issues but also really caring and loving. He's also hot you know... which makes it 100% better than it already is.Now the biggest and my favourite characters in the books are without any doubt the dogs Charlie and Daisy (tho we didn’t see much of her) and the cutest kid ever who deserves the world Sam.

The book includes a hole-by-hold description of the Match (which was more detailed then I cared for and I skimmed through a lot of it), however it was interesting to read about some of the then famous names in golf. I enjoyed the information on a little known, but very talented female golfer, Marion Hollins (1892-1944) who was the Athletic Director at Pebble Beach in the 1920s and the developer of Cyprus Point (known to this day as the second most beautiful gold course in the world). ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Ray of sunshine heroine which you will adore because she is very optimistic, thoughtful, funny, kind and immensely independent. She's perfect in this book, my dream heroine. Each of the four players played to their full potential. No team was ever in the lead by more than one hole – the pros regained that lead on the 10th hole when Hogan pitched in from 85 yards for the day’s only eagle. They held the lead going into the 18th hole, sensing that they would need a birdie to win the match. Indeed, Venturi was the first to birdie the hole, leaving it to Hogan to also make birdie and clinch the match. His putt split the middle of the hole. Ward and Nelson ended up shooting scores of 67. Venturi shot a 65 and Hogan a 63. The amateurs' better-ball score was 59, the professionals a 58. As a foursome, they had 27 birdies and the eagle.

Then one by one, people start to die, and it soon becomes clear that a serial killer is targeting this secret community. I must praise Frost for his descriptive commentary especially on the actual match, which was almost like being there in the flesh, revelling in every shot. This is not your typical romance book because it has it's lessons about life and how people deal with disabilities. Definitely recommend this to all bookworms because it deserves all the love it can get! Kudos to Sarah Adams! You did great girl, you did great! While you don’t have to have read the first book to appreciate the mystery of this one, I’d encourage you to do so to better understand Wilde and get the weight of his transformation in this one. I love the narrator as he manages to capture his personality perfectly along with so many others, including Hester, my favorite. This story has so many dimensions and the vigilante group called Boomerang was a chilling factor. As with any of the author’s stories, there are a host of red herrings and delicious twists, all providing a reason for me not being able to put this one down until I got my answers. However, there’s still more to Wilde’s story, right Mr. Coben? Please say yes. 4.5 stars

Ken Venturi (1931-2013) was 25 years old. Venturi had grown up in the San Francisco area and had been a high school golf champion. Venturi turned professional at the end of the year in which the Match was played. The highlight of his professional career came in 1964 when he overcame severe dehydration in 100-degree heat, to win the U.S. Open. At that time the Open was still played as a three-day event, with 36 holes played on the final day. Doctors followed Venturi around the course in his last round, believing that he was in great danger of succumbing to heat stroke. However, everything went downhill after the 60% mark. I absolutely hated Evie’s family and the way they wanted to make Evie marry a man who had bullied her during high school just because it was the best thing for their law firm. That whole dinner scene where they tried to push Evie into marrying Trevor right in front of Jake made me want to throw my phone at the wall. I can’t believe Evie could be so naïve as to believe her parents actually wanted to do something nice for her. I was already frustrated with her, but the cherry on top of the cake was Jake getting pissed at the situation and doubting Evie’s feelings for him even though he already knew her family was awful. Crosby himself, one of the most famous entertainers of his time, was actually an extremely good golfer, carrying a handicap in the low single digits. [I either never knew this, or had forgot it. Thanks Mark Frost.] In these days of the Crosby Clambake, as it was known, it was an invitation-only event, with Crosby himself issuing the invitations, assigning the pairings of professional & amateur for the pro-am teams, and even assigning the handicaps to the amateur partner in each team. I'm mentally picturing Charlie & Daisy being so adorable that it makes my heart so happy. They save people's lives and it's overwhelming-how crucial their roles are to people with disabilities. I loved loved loved this one. The characters here are fantastically written. Wilde is a fascinating character and I cant think of one character in the book that wasnt very well written. The story also is beautifully paced with plenty of twist and turns along the way. This book never get boring. The four players involved in the Match were two golf professionals (one team) against two amateurs (the other). His swing was considered a thing of beauty and perfection, which he could execute perfectly, over and over, having spent hundreds of hours on the practice range hitting scores of thousands of balls. Hogan and his wife had been involved in a horrendous traffic accident in February 1949. He had thrown his body in front of his wife in the passenger seat, saving her life. The injuries he sustained caused doctors to advise him that he might never walk again, let alone play golf. But Hogan played a good round of golf in December. The next month he tied for first place in the Los Angeles Open. Pleased to see “hot” 70 something, defense attorney Hester Crimsten is once again staying connected. She, of course, has been in other Coben novels. Coben’s wit comes through in Hester.

Wilde– the book’s main character, first introduced in The Boy From the Woods by Harlan Coben. He was found abandoned in the woods as a child and therefore does not know anything about his family. So this means Sofia is young in the picture, like ten or twelve. Hester and Oren are still a couple. Hester states she is much too old to say she has a boyfriend but is fine with Oren being her beau! Oh my god, this was so cute. This was the first book i read from this author and i loved it sm. It had everything I wanted and the starting had me hooked😭 Sarah really knows how to hook the readers from the start I mean look at this- I know that there won’t be many people who will see this review who give a hang about golf, especially a non-fiction book about golf. For these readers, I hope that, if you have the time to read this overlong review, you’ll at least understand why I read the book with such pleasure.
