About this deal

The story begins with David Asha, telling the story of his biggest regret in life but also the stories of his best friend Ben, David's son Elliot and a woman named Harriet Kealty who was recently discharged from her duties as a detective. It's impossible to say much more because it's a secret that can't be told. Ben knows the secret and so does Elliot. Ben is Elliot's guardian when Harri meets him again, months after he broke up with her and she no longer thinks Ben is as wonderful, anymore. I only understand part of what follows but it is still interesting and kept me going to end of the story...a very strange story. Many thanks to NetGalley, Atria, and Adam Hamdy for an ARC in exchange for an honest review! Now available as of 10.11!** The Other Side of Night is a mind-bending mystery that, by the time it reaches its extraordinary end, leaves no twist unexplained, no thread untied. An utterly satisfying read. -- Ryan Gattis

A fantastic read. Mind bending, gut wrenchingly tense and one of the most original stories I’ve read in years. It was an absolute treat' – John Marrs, author of The Vacation Told in two parts, “The Child” and “The Man,” the book begins with David Asha explaining that his biggest regret is his sudden separation from his son, Elliot. With its genre-bending plot, nuanced characters, and dramatic locations, THE OTHER SIDE OF NIGHT seems perfect for film or television adaptation. What parts of the novel might be challenging to adapt to screen? Who would you cast as the main characters? What details would you hope the adaptation kept? This is my son’s story. I have no doubt it will be sold as fiction, but rest assured every word that follows is true.A brilliant meta-thriller with huge ideas and even greater heart' – Steve Cavanagh, author of The Accomplice The Other Side of Night is a surprising and cleverly constructed rollercoaster read. -- Karin Slaughter, New York Times and International bestselling author A: Scientists make the impossible happen. The computer I’m typing on, the phone beside me, the medicine that keeps a loved one alive, the plane passing overhead, all exist because a scientist set out to solve a problem. They share qualities with detectives because both try to get to the truth. The scientist uses truth to improve our understanding of the world, something that might have practical significance as per the examples above. The detective uses the truth to deliver justice. Both are extremely powerful motivators. There’s a purity to scientific inquiry and an inherent impurity to judicial inquiry, and both fascinate me, and I think make for interesting reading. The Other Side of Nightbegins with a man named David Asha writing about his biggest regret: his sudden separation from his son, Elliot. In his grief, David tells a story.
