About this deal

Spy 2 was confirmed on 15 February 2018. [68] [69] But later in 2018, Feig explained that although a sequel to Spy could still happen, "there hasn't been any interest from the studio" in the project. [70] [71] Jason Statham action vehicle written and directed by Boaz Yakin. Yakin's previous directing efforts include 'REMEMBER THE TITANS', 'UPTOWN GIRLS' and 'FRESH', so a B action film starring Jason Statham is an interesting choice for the filmmaker. The story revolves around Statham playing an ex-cagefighter who's made enemies with the Russian mob and corrupt NYC police department that comes to the aid of a young girl wanted by both. The movie is surprisingly unsentimental and a pretty hard hitting action film. Statham fans should be more than pleased. Blitz is a good movie that finally comes to life about 20 to 30 minutes in when we finally get to the main story. Once the chase is on with the odd couple partnership of tough rule breaking Tom Brant (Jason Statham) and gay straight laced Porter Nash (Paddy Considine) pursuing the cop killing criminal who's hungry for notoriety the Blitz (Aiden Gillen) the movie comes into it's stride. Before that we're inundated with so many characters it's a little confusing. What makes matters worse is that none of these side characters stories are ever really finished and the time wasted on them could have been spent giving a little more screen time to Porter Nash who is sadly underused.

This is not a film to be taken too seriously; the opening scene where Lino rams a Renault Clio through a building, including several internal walls, makes that clear! From then on there is plenty more action including a fantastic fight scene in a police station which manages to avoid looking overly choreographed and impressive car chases. The numerous crashes look real without explosions and obvious CGI. The cast is solid, in particular Alban Lenoir who plays Lino. Overall a fun film that fans of films with plenty of action, in particular car based action should enjoy; a great way to kill ninety minutes. Scott, A. O. (2013). " 'Parker,' Starring Jennifer Lopez and Jason Statham". The New York Times. ISSN 0362-4331 . Retrieved 15 January 2018. Today Show Interview Jason Statham". Today Show. Archived from the original on 22 December 2021 . Retrieved 11 March 2013. Sergeant Porter Nash ( Paddy Considine) is transferred to the South East London branch of the police to head the investigation, even though Nash is an outsider and widely ridiculed by his fellow officers for being openly gay. To his surprise he finds an unlikely ally in the hot-headed, gruff Detective Sergeant Tom Brant ( Jason Statham), who has a history of violent incidents. But the car chases are the big draw here and while it's disappointing that the actual car time is so sparse, the finale makes up for it. The last twenty minutes of the movie is bonnet-smashing, tyre squealing carnage and best of all, there's no CGI in sight. It's all done with practical effects, those are real cars being thrown into the air and driven into garages while on fire.

One nice thing about this movie is that it will likely make you feel smart. Not because you guessed all the plot twists but because you can say "what does this have to do with chaos theory?" Even if you're a bear of very little brain, you can probably recognize that plot twists don't really fall under chaos theory. Paddy Considine is fine as Stratam's superior. Interesting to see the inclusion of this homosexual character where his sexuality has nothing in particular to do with the plot; he isn't a victim, there is no mincing, no angst he is just a straight (as it were) gay man. Very, very few incidentally gay people on the big screen. All the signs were pointing to this being a bad movie. First of all, it's been in limbo for two years; and that is especially bad when you consider that the film has enough stars to secure itself a release. Therefore, that fact must mean that the reason for the film not getting a release is due to it being difficult to market, and therefore there's a good chance that it's not really worth seeing. However, that's actually not the case as while this film doesn't break any new ground and offers only a way to waste an hour and a half of your life; you could certainly do a lot worse than see this film. Comparisons to Spike Lee's recent thriller 'Inside Man' are going to happen, but since this film was made first; you have to wonder who was taking influence from whom. The plot focuses on a bizarre bank robbery in which nothing was taken from the bank, and the bank robber disappeared. Disgraced copper Quentin Conners (Jason Statham) is brought in to deal with the situation, and he hooks up with the son of a 'great cop', Shane Dekker; and we follow the pair as they try to get the bottom of all the chaos... In 2003, Statham appeared in three British television commercials for the Kit Kat chocolate bar. Described as a "break philosopher", he philosophised about salmon swimming upstream, a Mexican fisherman, and the relative speeds and ages of animals, before ending with a reminder that "taking a break" (alluding to the Kit Kat slogan) is an important part of life. Barsanti, Sam. "Jason Statham admits that money kept him from returning to the Transporter series". News . Retrieved 15 January 2018. Brant is a rogue cop, like we've never seen one of those before, on the streets of London. He's got a serious attitude problem and he doesn't care. He's partnered up with a homosexual detective, to take down a cop killer. Jason Statham was born on July 26, 1967 in Shirebrook, Derbyshire, to Eileen and Barry Statham. He had an older brother named Lee and both took interest in martial arts. But Statham had other athletic passions, one of which was diving, and he began working on those skills, eventually becoming a part of the British Olympic Team that traveled to Seoul, Korea in 1988. After the Olympics, he continued as a member of the National Diving Squad for the next decade. However, after some disappointing finishes at the World Championships and Olympic trials, he decided to focus on the next chapter of his career.Rosie Huntington-Whiteley and Fiancé Jason Statham Welcome Second Baby, Daughter Isabella James". Since 1998 Statham has made more than 40 films, almost all of them in the action genre. Yet unlike many action stars, Statham is known for performing the vast majority his stunts. He has also advocated for having stunt performers be included at the Oscars with a designated category. Personal Life I can't seem to point out the main reason for the chaos later on in this movie. Is it the directing? Is it the script? A combination perhaps? I do get the plot, still it's confusing. Franich, Darren (25 May 2013). " 'Fast & Furious 6' spoilers ending". Entertainment Weekly . One of Brant's informants, Radnor ( Ned Dennehy), points Brant and Nash towards a man named Barry Weiss ( Aidan Gillen) who recently bragged about setting a police dog on fire, "for practice". Although Brant and Nash visit Weiss' flat, they cannot immediately find any evidence against him. Brant recognises Weiss as the man he beat up in a fight in a billiard hall a year earlier. Unknown to either of them, Radnor decides to conduct an investigation of his own and eventually discovers the seemingly abandoned car where Weiss keeps the trophies of his kills, confirming that Weiss is the killer. This is a reasonably brisk paced and entertaining action thriller. There's a similar story to Spike Lee's critical hit, Inside Man, only Chaos was made two years ago, and is as yet awaiting its release. This may give an indication to the fact the film is not really a bankable product. This is not down to quality, because this is by no means a bad film, it's just what you might call a marketing nightmare, as a theatrical release anyway. It's a "thinks it's cleverer than it is" thriller starring two martial arts stars, but without martial arts. In fact this isn't action all the way as you might expect with Jason Statham and Wesley Snipes as two of the headliners. Eventually this will find a release, but probably DTV.dirt.com (14 June 2012). "Jason Statham Bio". dirt.com. Archived from the original on 23 January 2013 . Retrieved 18 August 2012. Cath Clarke of The Guardian gave the film a positive review and wrote: "Who knows, we might be looking at the evolution of the guilty-pleasure movie - padded out with top-drawer talent to spare audience blushes."
