About this deal

Here it is,” Aunt Coralee announced as she stopped halfway down the hall and opened the door to a large bedroom. Other than the blue walls, everything else was white. I was looking forward to reading this book because I like to read about characters who are blind, or deaf, or mute. This girl was mute because she chose not to speak after a traumatizing incident that happened in her life. I get that. What I didn’t like was how West was the only person she could speak to. Ugh. The token douchecanoe? Really? Apparently, they have this certain connection that makes him that special. this? Did they not know he was hiding pain that haunted him and made him this horrible person? “Don’t mind me, sugar. I’m an asshole,” he said, as if he were apologizing. But apologizing for what? Kissing me? Cheating on his girlfriend? Being an all-around heartless jerk with every word that came out of his mouth? Those who were damaged weren’t fixable. I knew that all too well. Anyone who tried to fix him would fail. But people weren’t born cruel. Life made them that way. At least that was what one of my counselors told me when she tried to talk to me about my father. I made a blatant shift away from West and held my head high. The hard glare I shot him was more than any words could say. Thankfully, he got the message, and he turned and walked away. I watched him go, wondering if there was someone who knew why he was acting out this way. Someone who knew the truth This book has been on my shelf for a while now and I have no idea why it took me so long to read it! This cover just screams YA contemporary and since I love Abbi Glines, I knew that I had to read it. This wasn’t home. Nothing ever would be again. And besides, I didn’t want a home—the word came with memories too painful to think about.

The romance was beautiful. It wasn't forced. The desire, the longing, and the build up gave me life. WHAAAA?? Hold up, hold up! He felt bad for treating these girls but not because these girls are human beings worthy of respect but because of what Maggie might think of him?? Uhnn-nuuhhh. Every single guy in the football team treated other girls horribly except of course Maggie because she's just so goddamn innocent and pure and a speshul snowflake. *roll eyes forever* Now he was leaning against the doorframe of the bedroom, brown hair falling into his eyes, a smirk on his face. He didn’t seem happy. Oh God, had they given me his room? That couldn’t be good. I didn’t want to take his room.Tender, honest, and achingly real— Until Friday Nightcaptures the intensity of first love, the power of friendship, and the pain of growing up. This book has it all, and I can’t wait for the next field party.” But that doesn't get West to stop getting his share of blow jobs in the high school bathroom... and because he's going through tough time: That's. Okay. Welll, that should not be surprising at all. I don't know why I even bothered. But okay okay lets see what's wrong here. I'll try to keep it short and I hope you guys will understand why I feel like I just wasted my time reading this. Yep, that's harsh but its true. These events along with a lot of others had me considering not finishing this either... But I really hate not finishing books so I pushed forth. Thank God I did too. Once West actually starts hanging out with Maggie things take a very dramatic turn. He turns from a sour grape to a ripe peach. He starts treating himself and others the way they should be treated. Starts realizing that he was being a creepy jerk turd and starts to change his act. This was the West I was waiting for the whole time! Once he changes, he goes from zero dark crazy to a total swoon worthy book boyfriend. He's not the only one who has a ton of development either, Maggie herself takes on new life. Once she starts standing up for herself and not taking crap you'll start falling more into the story as well. All these changes really jump start the plot and get this love story going. Abbi Glines is certainly a gifted and talented writer. Her words aren't striking, poetic, witty, or powerful, but they are compelling all the same. Her prose has such a fluid and easy flow, slightly reminiscent of Coho's writing style, that doesn't put any pressure on the reader to read in between the lines, or take pauses to digest the meaning of her sentences. And you know, every now and then, a light read is just what I need. It's refreshing and freeing. But that's about all I have positive to say about this book.

Nothing ever would be again. And besides, I didn’t want a home—the word came with memories too painful to think about. I knew my aunt Coralee and uncle Boone were watching me closely as they led me through the house. They wanted me to like it here—there was a certain hopefulness in their eyes. I didn’t remember what hope felt like. It had been so long since I’d hoped for anything. “We gave you a room upstairs. I painted it a pretty cotton-candy blue,” Aunt Coralee

The love triangle was annoying as hell. Also no one in the love triangle was enjoyable. Brady was supposedly "the nice guy", even though I think that he was a bigger jerk than Gunner. Gunner was thinking only about himself and was constantly jealous. Brady and Gunner both fight for her attention and to learn what is troubling her, both of them want to be the reason she smiles again. They both have their own issues and struggles but are ready to fight for her. Throughout the story, new things come up and Willa has to choose which guy is the one for her. Her childhood best friend or the boy who gave her butterflies. We gave you a room upstairs. I painted it a pretty cotton-candy blue,” Aunt Coralee informed me cautiously. “I remembered that you liked blue.”

When will my book be dispatched from your warehouse?

Willa lives every day with regret. She's hoping to move on from her past. When she was younger Brady was her crush, but Gunner was her confidant. How many times do I have to say this? This is not about Abbi, this is about the whole YA and NA authors who make their female character not likeable just because they were having sex with the main male lead before the female mc shows up. Please don’t. Please, stop. Shit, this ain’t gonna be easy. You’re—” He paused and let out a laugh that didn’t sound like he meant it. “This shit is gonna be worse than I thought. Least you could have helped me out and been ugly.” Brady has caught my heart in the first book and I love him to bits. However, in this one, I felt strongly disapproving of many decisions he made. It was very frustrating for me to read.
