About this deal

Independent Scotch whisky distillery GlenAllachie has revealed a trio of limited-edition single malts joining its Virgin Oak Series. Whitley Neill, the UK’s number one premium gin brand [1], has launched a limited edition bottle of its Connoisseur’s Cut London Dry Gin to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III. The new serve is the official beer of RSDUK 2023, which sees hundreds of independent record shops across the UK come together to celebrate their unique culture. Halewood Artisanal Spirits global marketing director Rachel Adams said: “With an extra Bank Holiday and a weekend full of celebrations, the coronation will present a huge sales opportunity for retailers and licensees this May.

Salcombe Distilling Co. co-founder Howard Davies said: "The non-alcoholic space is exciting and fast-growing, and has provided us with an opportunity to get creative by exploring innovative techniques and processes.Combining flavours of orange and currants with the warming spices of cinnamon, ginger, allspice, rosemary, coriander, and angelica, the resulting juniper-led gin has a fruity and robust finish, fit for a king. It is recommended served with Fever-Tree tonic, ice, and a slice of orange. The term “virgin oak” refers to wood that has not previously been used to age any other wine or spirit, meaning the only influence on the whisky is the oak alone, with the brand setting out to explore the impact of oak on flavour and development during the maturation process through these serves. Salcombe Distilling Co. has announced a portfolio of non-alcoholic spirits and aperitifs, New London Light, consisting of three new serves. To create the triad of new whiskies, the spirit was first matured in American Oak (Quercus Alba) ex-Bourbon Barrels before undergoing a finishing period of approximately 18 months in the different oak varieties. The team at the Shakespeare Distillery in Stratford-upon-Avon has crafted a dry gin that takes inspiration from the late Queen and Queen Mother’s love for a gin and Dubonnet.

A blend of more than 53 rare malt and grain whiskies, the Royal Salute Coronation of King Charles III Edition is a rich and complex expression with notes of fresh redcurrants, dark chocolate praline, and freshly roasted chestnuts, and a palate of sweet figs and fresh ginger leading up to a long and rich finish with a playful spice. It comes from a specially selected shaved, toasted, and re-charred ex-red wine cask, which offers a rich and intense maturation to the fruity new make spirit, boasting strong notes of toffee, chocolate, and red fruits, as well as a deep colour. London-based Meantime Brewing Company has teamed up with Record Store Day UK (RSDUK) to create Double Groove (4.7% ABV). In the summer of 2007, King Charles III declared The English Distillery officially open. The dram-loving monarch even took ownership of a few of the maturing casks, making the Norfolk-based distillery one of his preferred English whisky producers. Double Groove features 50% US & 50% UK varieties, bringing together complementary flavours to create a distinct and unique beer.It is a challenge to provide something alternative to alcohol that doesn’t compromise on taste, and for us to be able to achieve this whilst keeping as much of the distillation process in house as possible, is something we're extremely proud of."

The whisky is housed in a Dartington Crystal decanter, tinted in a deep sapphire blue hue, reminiscent of the precious stones set within the Imperial State Crown. In keeping with Royal Salute’s signature style, the decanter is presented in a wooden box inspired by the iconic Westminster Abbey, with details intricately chiselled into the wood, paying tribute to the historic setting of British Coronation ceremonies since 1066. With its rich London heritage and quality London Dry gin distilling credentials, Whitley Neill is perfectly positioned to help maximise this opportunity with the launch of this striking Limited Edition Coronation Gin offering. The 70cl bottle has been designed with a patriotic red, white and blue colour scheme with the official coronation emblem on the seal of the lid. Whitley Neill Connoisseur’s Cut Gin is a classic London Dry expression which is distilled at The City of London Distillery, the first and only gin distillery in the heart of London for over 200 years. It is cut at 47%, letting the rich juniper and citrus notes shine through. The limited edition bottle boasts a striking, patriotic red, white and blue colour scheme, with the official coronation emblem on the seal of the lid. We’ve mixed American Citra and British Admiral hops to create a full-bodied IPA that’ll get you into the groove this Record Store Day. Silent Pool’s 43% ABV Coronation Gin also uses dried plum and raspberry leaves to infuse the gin, leaving lingering fruity notes. Finally, Earl Grey tea and tangy hawthorn berries deepen the palette. This is our third year as official beer partner to RSD UK and this beer symbolises the important relationship between the US and UK, both musically and in beer.”

Inspired by gin-making principles, First Light boasts flavours of dry juniper, citrus and ginger while the brand’s Midnight Sun serve offers notes of coastal berries, fresh pine and kelp. Boasting a new recipe, crafted specifically to celebrate the historical occasion, Silent Pool’s Coronation Gin has been made using infusions of King Charles’ favourite Surrey botanicals, plants and flowers, with gentle notes of bergamot orange, complemented by elegant floral notes from rose petals, lavender and chamomile. It is said King Charles likes a Martini every night before dinner, however his exact preference for how it is served is unknown. We might assume, however, that he might opt for a gin he has an affinity with, such as Hepple Gin. In 2018, Hepple welcomed King Charles III to its estate in Northumbria where he planted his own juniper tree.
