About this deal

There's no precise “zero” position for the tone controls, and it's quite easy to place the knobs off center.

Practical funtions to simplify use: with input selection and indicators, clearly to show the working status in real time; aluminum alloy case is specially designed, cool and unique to decorate your desktop space. Then i hooked the Aiyima T9 up to my Mission LX-2's which are warmer sounding than the Q acoustics, and found that they were a much better match with the Aiyima . Secondly, the T9 does not have a built in phono preamp, therefore, if you want to use the T9 with your turntable, you will either need to have an external phono preamp (like my Vincent PHO-8) or have a turntable with a built in preamp. More information here if you are unsure if you need a phono preamp or not. Strong output power and low frequency output: use amp IC TPA3250, each channel can output 100W(4Ω), match perfectly and easily to drive all 3-8Ω passive speakers, adds a low frequency output easy to connect active speakers and build 2.1 channel system, the bass effects is greatly enhanced.

I worry about CD's going away. I am having a hard time noticing huge quality differences between the CD's and Vinyl.Dynamically, the performance is very good, though the bass range, again, doesn't convince me 100%. There's punch, yes, but the correct timing isn't really there. The amp can sound quite loud even with demanding speakers, though I have the feeling it performs at its best quite far from its physical limits. In any case, the T9 can sound quite lively with any musical genre. All in all, it's a cute, convenient, do-it-all small box that you can live with, say the second, third or whichever sub-system you are setting, like study/working desk, (dry) patio. Al in all, for the price i paid 76USD shipped_+ power a supply, i think it's a great sounding amp for the price! If nothing else, an EQ can be of great assistance of getting rough ideas about how speakers tonality is different when compared. Strong output power and low frequency output: use amp IC TPA3221, each channel can output 100W(4Ω), match perfectly and easily to drive all 3-8Ω passive speakers, adds a low frequency output easy to connect active speakers and build 2.1 channel system, the bass effects is greatly enhanced.

The Aiyima had no problem driving both pair of speakers to a more than adequate listening level from my seating position (6 feet from the speakers) This Aiyima T9 is the third integrated amplifier of my comparative test, which has dealt with the Rega Io and the Argon SA1. Actually, these three amps are not perfectly comparable, in the sense that each one has different features, but they have in common similar size and power output. Prices are between 200 and 500€. Technically they differ, since each one represents different approaches: from the traditional, full solid-state Rega Io, to the pure Class D Argon SA1 to this hybrid tubes/Class D Aiyima T9. With multiple digital audio inputs: Bluetooth 5.0 / USB / Coaxial / Optical / stereo RCA, compatible with most audio device such as phones, computers, tablets, TVs, TV, CD players etc. The perfect combination of DAC and amplifier, very suitale for audiophiles who have various audio devices.

Overall I love the retro look of the device (especially in a dark room) the tubes 'glow' and VU meter is great (though the meter isn't very sensitive - you have to play loud to see it moving). For TV optical out connection, it worked when optical out was set to auto. With my other/previous DACs, I always had to set it to PCM. The Supporting Players Now, this is important. What I have here in China are very humble (by my standards), based on a set of more than 15 years old Chinese Sansui AV system (yes, the Japanese sold the name to the Chinese company, which is now a home appliance company) which I parceled out for 2 systems (main one, System 1, in my study, where I write for you; and the much less used auxiliary System 2 in the LR) There are a few extras that I had brought over from HK long ago, the most important being Revox and Sony. The stuff I use are detailed in my previous articles (Current iteration here, with links to earlier config). After some work they sounded pretty good. After listening to the systems for years I thought I knew them well, but what happened told me it was not quite so. In For One to Love, Cecile McClorin .Salvant sings an absolutely ravishing Le Mal de Vivre (original Barbara). She gives a completely new dimension to the song. The subtle use of inflections in her perfect French tests microdynamics. Other than that I think having a DAC and optical input is great (obviously at this price its a cheap DAC) - though I couldn't hear anything obviously bad. I had a few devices plugged in (and Volumio Mini PC via DAC) and Airport Express (via Optical) and a Turntable via RCA and it was great to be able to switch with the provided remote control.

Editor: Regarding Length This article is very long ( Covid Revenge Review?), as per my usual style when testing things I am interested in, especially things that can be used in multiple ways. Regular readers and experienced audiophiles will more likely find the many details along the way interesting. However, the vast majority of readers, usually referred here by a Google search, may want to skip here and there, or even just go to the end for Impressions, Comments and Thoughts. Regarding Organization In contrast to my usual ways, Music Used and my descriptions of the rights and wrongs will have a shaded box near the end, and there shall also be a little Technical Info near the end. Here's the list of TOS optical outputs I have so far. Xbox 360, ASUS z690 Apex Maximus, TCL Roku Television 2 Sony CD carosels, Android TV with HDMI and Optical output. So far, the only time I have ran into an issue with the Aiyima T9pro handling the Optical input is on the Sony Carosels. If they removed the internal DAC they would lose Coax and Bluetooth options. Where is the Factory The factory (in Guangming, 光明) is operated by Mr Liu’s friend, about an hour away in SZ from the headquarter. Mr Liu forwarded a few pics of the factory, but I hope to visit it personally soon. Q: Why does the volume of the machine remain the same, but the sound level is different when connecting to different audio sources (for example, connect a CD first, then a mobile phone)?
