About this deal

Battlezone: Mechanicus – Charadon comes with everything you need to fight battles in the Charadon Sector. This is a forge world in a box, comprising two double-sided gaming boards measuring 30” x 22.4”, plus a whopping 13 pieces of highly detailed plastic terrain. This set is perfect for Combat Patrol- and Incursion-sized missions and a great way to begin your collection. The Ferratonic Furnace provides a constant supply of Metal. Upgade to increase production and storage limits. (total of 10 can be built) Unique actions are actions detailed on an operative’s datacard that only they can perform, such as the Dakka Dash action found on the example datacard.

Inside, there are 26 miniatures, including two Characters (a Canoness and a Repentia Superior), two Vehicles (a Rhino and a Penitent Engine), and four squads (Arco-flagellants, Sisters Repentia, Battle Sisters, and Seraphim). This box is an impressive place to start any army or boost an existing force. With the imminent release of Ash Wastes, I decided to finally build and paint up all of the Sector Mechanicus kits I have been buying up over the past few years. The scheme I’ve got here can be toned waaaaay down if you want to turn it into a speedpaint as well. The basic gist of it is red platforms and bone-colors supports. Sector Mechanicus. Credit: Fowler

The operative would still count as performing the action for all rules purposes. For example, if it performed it during its activation, it would not be able to perform the action again during that activation. These three new Sector Mechanics Terrain sets from Games Workshop are a must have for your Imperial Hive battles. Come take a look! The landing pad is fully compatible with other Battlezone: Fronteris terrain sets, as well as other Battlezone terrain sets, although the style may not fully match, letting you create and build the most immersive battlefields possible. The landing pad also adds an extra element of elevation to your battlefield allowing for dynamic gameplay moments and more interesting storytelling opportunities. From here is the detail work. I use acrylic inks over the raised details on top and inside the barriers to add some visual interest and serve as the underlayer for anywhere I want hazard stripes. I then custom printed hazard stripes on decal paper and cut them to size since I’m lazy and didn’t feel like masking and airbrushing everything. They’ll go right on top of the ink and with some Micro Set will soften and conform to the part. You may need to use a knife to poke holes where the plastic overlaps a rivet hole. After the ink dries a layer of sepia wash tones things downs and blends it all in. For the mechanical bits in the pillars I applied some Dirty Down Verdigris and then applied some sepia wash to blend it in. An incredibly detailed, striking scenery set, the Galvanic Magnavent is a modular plastic kit compatible with the entire Sector Mechanicus range – detailed, configurable scenery that will help you play games on a multi-level environment!

Fowler: Oddly enough, Shadow War: Armageddon is what got me to really take the plunge on the hobby. Assembly note for people who want to maximize modularity (for Necro and Kill Team especially) – I highly recommend making some clipped walkways. Sector Mechanicus. Credit: Fowler One thing to note here and the biggest pain about this is that I also paint in the recessed parts of the walkway. This is a big pain in the ass and a seemingly minor thing but it makes a huge difference when you look at the model on the table. Painting the sides of the recessed parts Drybrush a dark metallic over the whole thing. I used Army Painter gunmetal, but I’m sure Citadel Leadbelcher would be fine too.If you’re a hobbyist, then this set of terrain kits is going to be the bane of your wallet. “I just need one more kit and I can do [fill in the blank]” is going to be your biggest problem. I’m not going to lie, if you were a “Lego Kid” you should probably run from these kits. Otherwise you’re going to want to keep purchasing them and eventually you’re going to drown in plastic. It happens. It’s not pretty…But it’s pretty awesome to dive in and just build and let your creativeness take over. The Battlezone: Mechanicus – Ferratonic Furnace is an ancient and volatile silo. It gives your snipers an excellent vantage point for extra Armour Penetration, and it can cause mortal wounds to your foes when its blast doors are triggered. Mission actions are specific to the mission you are playing, and will be detailed by that mission’s briefing. Missions can be found here (Open Play mission) and here (Spec Ops Narrative missions). We use DHL for our main courier. The delivery guide for this is next working day to 2 working days. The longer period is for areas such as the Highlands and Islands of the UK. Howdy scummers! As we prepare for the upcoming release of Necromunda: Ash Wastes, this seemed like a phenomenal time to hit up the Goonhammer contributors for their preferred methods for painting up Sector Mechanicus kits. SM seems like a solid way to “fill” up an Ash Wastes table, in a spirit similar to the terrain previewed for the next box! We just want to encourage you to paint up all the terrain you’ve been hoarding. Sector Mechanicus Terrain
