About this deal

Strangely, it's too small for most modern handsets. Perhaps Mini just expects you to buy an iPhone 13 mini? At least there's a pair of USB ports (one Type-A and one Type-C) in front of the center console for charging and connectivity. The punchier i3 S donates its power electronics and 135kW/181bhp electric motor, produced by BMW at its Landshut plant. These components are normally located at the rear of the i3 S, but they’re slotted under the Mini’s bonnet, cradled in a frame that even uses the existing three engine-mounting points. The Mini SE builds upon its parent company BMW’s infotainment system and its navigation setup. It’s an easy-to-use system that, thanks to voice recognition, can be controlled without taking your eyes off the road. Turn-by-turn directions are available both on the infotainment screen and in the dash cluster.

User-Friendly Flight Experience: The Mini SE is an ideal drone for beginners and recreational users. DJI's Flight Tutorial app guides new pilots through setup and basic flight maneuvers, ensuring a smooth learning curve. The intuitive remote control enhances the overall user experience, making it easy to control the drone with confidence. The built in GPS and downward-facing optical sensor also mean the drone is good at maintaining its position or heading with minimal effort on the pilot’s part. For users focused on the quality of video or image they’re capturing that is significant. Underwhelming camera performance aside, the Potensic Atom SE is a very decent beginner drone. It's not massively more affordable than the DJI Mini 2 SE but offers more flying modes and some extra features, potentially making it more appealing to those who prioritise the flying experience over camera footage. Read my full Potensic Atom SE review.Panorama is an automated option, in which you can simply hover the drone looking in the right direction and let it take a series of images in sequence, which it will also automatically stitch for you into a panorama. This feature – available on most DJI drones – was left off the Mini SE but it seems the Mini 2 SE can handle it. For owners of Apple’s iPhone, the vehicle supports wireless CarPlay. Some of the initial issues BMW and Mini had with keeping a solid wireless CarPlay connection seemed to have been resolved and we had zero issues during our week with the vehicle. Android Auto on the other hand? That’s another story since the Mini SE does not support Android Auto right now. But BMW has been working on adding support to its vehicles, so future support is expected. Photos can be captured as single shots or in an interval mode (there are options between 2 and 60 seconds) which could be manually assembled later to create a timelapse – or might be a software solution to keep the pictures coming in case piloting becomes a distraction.

Light as a Smartphone - Weighing less than 0 55lbs / 249 grams, DJI Mini SE is roughly the same weight as the smartphone. In the United States and Canada, you can fly this camera drone without the need to register your drone with the local government..Operating Temperature Range - 0° to 40°C (32° to 104°F). Operating Frequency[2] - Model MT2SS5: 5.725-5.850 GHz, Model MT2SD25: 2.400-2.4835 GHz, 5.725-5.850 GHzI would recommend this as a starter/recreational drone. I am sitting video in 2.7K as YouTube will convert down anything larger. The 2.7K video and freeze-frames are very high quality. If you need to make prints, then take the digital snapshot so you get the large digital photo file. Upgraded Wind Resistance - DJI Mini SE can resist 29-38kph winds and take off at a max altitude of 4,000 meters, so your footage is stable even when flying along a windy coastline or high above an alpine forest. What I discovered is that, if you are to buy a drone and are on a tight budget, either don't buy one or buy this one. After using it a few times I can completely recommend this drone from a skeptical point of view. The Harman-Kardon audio system sounds decent and features Bluetooth connectivity, AM / FM terrestrial radio, and SiriusXM satellite radio.

Photo settings can be changed in flight. Live video preview is 720p and easy to fly with. (Image credit: Adam Juniper/Digital Camera World) Everything else is standard Mini inside, from the central 8.8-inch infotainment display to the iconic toggle switches between the sun visors and below the climate controls. Opt for the MINI's native nav set-up and users can benefit from a “charge-optimised” routing function, while other tech includes an optional 3D head-up display. MINI Electric offers two levels – Level 2 and Level 3 – each with their own selection of spec. Whichever level you go for, you’ll enjoy amazing features like MINI Navigation and a fully digital display.Price is a non-binding recommendation of the manufacturer (including VAT, excluding transportation costs). Prices shown may differ. Your MINI retailer will gladly give you more information on models available, options and binding price information. Inspired by our history, we have developed our own new design language, defining our DNA,” he told Auto Express, adding that the new car's appearance is “characterised by a clear, reduced design language intuitively focused on the essentials of the brand.” More Time in the Sky - DJI Mini SE's weight allows it to stay in the air longer than similar consumer drones on the market. Enjoy up to 30 minutes of flight time with a fully-charged battery. Keeping things cost-effective (and helping differentiating DJI’s products) means the Mini 2 SE still restricts itself to 2.7K video. This is more or less the same pixel count as the iPhone 14 Pro Max (2796 x 1290), so it’s nothing to sniff at, but of course those looking for 4K will be disappointed. DJI, no doubt, would direct them to the pricier Mini 3 series. Mini has announced that it will be a full EV brand by 2030. No more compliance cars, just full-on EVs built on dedicated platforms. The Mini SE is a bit of an appetizer of that electric-only future. It’s a fun-to-drive small urban vehicle that’s greater than it may seem at first glance, thanks to the disappointing range. Safety and driver assistance features include adaptive cruise control, lane departure warning, pedestrian and front collision warning with city collision mitigation. All items that could be tested safely on public roads were put through their paces and functioned as expected. One item still missing is blind-spot monitoring which seems like a major oversight on any modern vehicle. Mini SE: The drive While both drones use the same battery –listed on DJI’s accessory shop as the DJI Mini 2 battery – it seems that the Mini 2 SE can squeeze an extra minute of flight time out of it. A minute isn’t a lot, but that is useful time, at least if you’re looking to get to a certain position and start capturing. If you’re just in the air for fun – and who can blame you – then take-off and landing are likely less of a choreWhat isn’t needless is the near-one-pedal ability of the Mini Electric’s regen. It defaults to the most aggressive setting barely requiring a touch of the brake pedal most of the time, but you can alter the aggressiveness. There’s a switch by the starter button that alters the amount of regen on the go. Rewarding when you get it right and, unlike the Leaf’s e-Pedal, you feel comfortable leaving this setting on at higher speeds as the brake pedal doesn’t turn to mush if you do have to resort to pressing it. Let’s talk range and charging…
