About this deal

The Endgame Gear MPC450 Cordura Mousepad is fast, durable, and it looks decent too. It’s a great choice for anyone looking for a long-term replacement for their old mousepad, or even anyone looking to get a mousepad for the first time. Having the right mousepad can be crucial for consistent gameplay and make a huge difference to your performance which can be especially important in fast-paced games where split-second decisions can make all the difference. Speed is great, but it can also take some getting used to. One of the perks of using slower pads is the level of control you have while using your mice on them.

Adding from the point above, do not break in newly-installed skates or use a new mouse using this pad. I've played with the OOX for a few hours - which has really scratchy skates out of the box, the pad slowed down tremendously because of it. Endgame Gear, a company that does not fail to surprise me each time they release a product. First, they have released XM1. One of the best mice on the market for claw grip users. Bare in mind that the company is new and has fewer employees than other known companies, they were fast to note that users were not happy with the rubberized cable, and in the next month or two, they have released a new version with one of the best paralike cables. Today, I present to you their new mousepad, MPC-450 from the MPC series.Stitched Edges: Provides several benefits, including preventing fraying and ensuring durability, which can significantly extend the life of the pad. They also improve the overall appearance of the pad, giving it a more professional and polished look. The deep blue color is pretty nice, and I’m a fan of the stitched sides too. Running my fingers across the material, it’s easy to tell that this is built to last. Performance in this area followed a similar pattern to what I’ve already mentioned in the speed section. Lighter mice felt nicer and faster than the heavier ones, but they all worked pretty well on the pad.

As a week went by, the pad's kinetic friction was a marginally a tiny bit higher, it did not bother me at all, it still felt really fast and that change of kinetic friction made it a bit more controllable as well.

I’ll start of by answering a question that’s probably on a lot of minds right now: what exactly is Cordura? Well, Cordura is a specific type of fabric usually made out of nylon (though there are many variations) that’s mainly used for military and outdoor usage due to its resistance to tearing, scuffing, and so on. Before applying the grip tape, it is essential to clean your mouse to remove any dirt or oils that may interfere with the grip tape's adhesion. Use a soft cloth and rubbing alcohol to gently clean the surface of your mouse, taking care not to damage the coating. Make sure to remove all the dirt and oil residues, especially around the edges of your mouse.

So as you can see on the pic above, a slow white spot formed where I usually move my arm and mouse around. My polyester arm sleeve - even though very smooth to the touch, is likely the main culprit for this wearing down on the middle. This effect is less noticeable on hybrid pads I've owned like the hien, ac+. I'd advise to only wear sleeves when you are absolutely limited with your arm, or when you use hardpads; or if you really want to wear a sleeve, I'd suggest going for that PTFE gaming sleeve thing.Material: Cordura is a high-performance, durable material commonly used in military and outdoor gear. The surface of a Cordura mousepad is very smooth and low-friction, allowing for fast and accurate mouse movements. The material is also resistant to water and stains, which makes it easy to clean and maintain. The top is very strong, abrasive resistant, tear-resistant, and water-resistant. For something that’s going to be sitting in one spot more often than not, the chances of ruining it are slim to none. That’s not a dig at this pad, though. This is a speed pad and it’s a great one at that. From the surprisingly smooth feeling but super heavy duty (when it comes to spills and tears) surface to the impressive firmness of the foam underneath: this is a high quality fast mousepad with a very interesting surface. It’s not for me (I prefer control) but if you’ve got a need for speed this should be on your list without any doubt. The surface of the Endgame Gear MPC450 is dark blue and this refresh features an updated design for the manufacturer's logo in the upper right corner. A yellow stitching on the outer edges serves as a decorative element and the sewn-in label identifies this high-end mousepad as an authentic CORDURA® product. I tested a few mice on the mousepad, and they all felt nice. I did notice that the mice with PTFE feet ran smoother than the ones without, but that’s not really a surprise. Also, the lighter mice felt faster than the heavier ones. Again, no surprise, but it’s good to know what to expect depending on the type of mouse you’ve got.

Fast forward to today, and I have to say it's slowed down so much to the point where I don't want to use it anymore. After washing it for about 4 times since I've had it, waves/bumps started to form and made it feel like an inconsistent mess. I am also really delicate with how I handle my pads, so it's not a me issue. Even a broken-in scratched up helios feels better than this. Of course the pad could be bulletproof (it isn’t: don’t get any ideas) but all of that doesn’t matter if the glide isn’t pleasant so let’s get to that. If your answer to the question ‘how much speed do you want’ is ‘yes’ then this might be the ultimate pad for you because this is a fast one. In fact it’s one of the fastest cloth (orcloth -ishin this case) pads I’ve used so far but due to the fact that there’s still some texturing on the surface micro adjustments don’t become an impossible task. Don’t get me wrong: you’re not getting anywhere near the controlling feeling of slower pads but you’re also not getting the ‘on ice’ feeling you get out of some hard pads. With that out of the way we can get to my first impressions of the pad itself, and this is a tale of two feelings. On the one hand I love the deep blue color of the MPC and the stitched sides, but on the other hand I’m not really a fan of the quite large and rubberized Endgame Gear logo along with the Cordura tag. I get that these things are important for branding, doubly so for smaller companies, but I would’ve liked to see a smaller logo application here. The Cordura tag could be there for licensing reasons (I’m just thinking out loud though; I’m not saying that this is the case) and is easily removed with a pair of scissors so that honestly doesn’t bother me as much but obviously I could do without it. Performance With the MPC450 , Endgame Gear focused on making a professional gaming e-sports mousepad suitable for tournament use. The Endgame Gear MPC450's 45 x 40cm textile surface has excellent sliding properties and is optimized for optical sensors.

I've noticed a trend with these cheap budget pads with generic rubber foams/bases, they tend to form these waves/bumps (which you can feel) as you wash them even with just water ; I've had this on pretty much every budget pad I've owned - AC+ white, Hyperx fury s, Thor, Zerogravity, Infinity, and this included. GSR, GSR-SE, GP4 on the other hand did not have this issue on my end probably because of it's SR foam base, so from my experience I'd say to take a look on the new tiger pads with the SR foam base or any pad with the SR foam if you don't want to encounter this problem. The MPX390 may also be an option if you're really into cordura, EGG advertises it as the flattest and most premium mousepad out there due to its silicone base and imo if that's what it really offers It's worth it. My artisans (hien, zero) never had this issue as well and I've washed them a handful of times over the month, now I could see why artisan is praised as the best of the best out there. Once you have removed all the old skates from the base your mouse, give the surface a clean by using rubbing alcohol (Isopropyl). This will remove any excess adhesive that may still be present. Leave the mouse to dry, and then it's time to apply the new ones.
