About this deal

Given the two small retaining screws holding the reel handles on, I can't imagine it's much effort to pop these off. You'd just have to find the correct bore wooden handle and maybe centre spindle bit. The handles specifically the grips are the only downside I can see. If your only fishing with nice neat baiys and in the warm wether they should be fine. Ive currently three aerlex gt 8000's of which two are goodish the third has been canabalised to keep the other two running when bushes and bearings have failed the two I still use have needed to be sprayed after the plastic started bubbling abroad. Can't do links sorry but jrc shared it on fb earlier its called the affinity 2 custom carbon edition I think.

My only take on their performance is positive withe caveat that they were us built multis and were in another league completely to the far eastern penns in this thread . They lasted years without degradation and gave trouble free service but its not the same product or even manufactured on the same continent so the comparison with the penns that built their rep against the new offerings built by god knows who for pure fishing is a nonsense I wouldn't be too set minded on that one. I sold my ISO's when i needed some cash and bought the LC affinity's. i said it then and i'll say it now, they feel and perform just as good no matter how much people want to disregard that statement. Mine have been used and abused week in week out for years and are still perfect, done zero maintenance on them. The new way of thinking seems to be that big spools are not as fundamental for big casts as we first thought, and line diameter is more relevant. I may be wrong thoughThe issue with a long spool is the spindle. If the spool is right at its maximum reach, the spindle is very prone to bending. Let's face it if you want to turn over a load of reels then target your market and price accordingly , surprised Danny didn't,t get in on the action I bought mine as they are cheap to fish venues that are dodgy , leave the better gear at home for French trips Still not getting everybody raving about these reels. They are good value and they don't look too bad, but that is about it in my eyes. Saying that the only experience I have of them is a friend got some gold lipped ones on a whim instead of his Basiairs. 1 broke and the other 2 didn't stay on there long

This is exactly what I warned people about when these came out, stating only time would tell what would happen.. Well they didn’t last long did they? Easy. They are an odd shape a classic T would havr been better. Read my post furthrt down for more infoDon't you mean Conrad " whether they will be any better than every other Reel that's been made in China, OR all the parts made in China but then assembled in Japan" Just in case anyone is wondering, the Daiwa Emcast Advanced folding\wooden handles fit straight on these

someone once told me to put a small drop of gun oil regularly onto the line roller to help with this what u think My only concern is that by removing that washer the spool may catch on the bail assembly when in its lowest position. Worth a try though. mine will be here in morning hope there as good as everyone says they are! getting rid of ma shimano LC for them :/I've used the Affinity 8000's from the day they was available via the trade, and they have been faultless Don't suppose any one knows if the spools are the same on the affinity 2s as the later model ltds in the 7000 size cheers

Emcast advanced considering these as all big pits are sea reels mine didnt like the surf gettig grindy with a bit of sand and corroding after the first visit despite being washed thouroughly.Put these against my penns I own only one is on a par with it for longevity and robustness thats he aerlex gtr Some sort of emcast handle prob cheapest though needs be the right colour to complement the reel. I remember some people on here bought emcast handles for the avocast. Sorry it doesn't show it folding on the vids or mention it on the brief list of features, but it's got lots of carbon fibre lol, if your on fb take a look.
