About this deal

We’ll be breaking down exactly what these differences mean in terms of performance later on in this article. I tested the AMD Ryzen 9 7900X3D inside of a newly built machine utilizing Kingston Fury Beast DDR5 RAM, an Nvidia RTX 4090, and a brand new RM1000X PSU. The chip was utilized heavily for gaming in the benchmarked titles as well as in games such as Mortal Kombat 11, Cyberpunk 2077, and Tekken 7. The higher the L3 cache is, the better gaming or intensive processing workloads can perform, that's because it's the largest level of cache available on a processor.

Yeah, 7950X3D trails behind a bit with AutoCAD. It also consumes less power though, and in that regard it is quite remarkable that it takes a solid 3rd spot e.g. with Cinebench R23, only "slightly" behind the top 2 in performance and way before the 4th. Precision Boost Overdrive requires a compatible AMD Ryzen Threadripper, 3rd Gen AMD Ryzen processor, or Ryzen 5000 Series processor and a motherboard compatible with one or more of these processors. 2nd Gen AMD Ryzen processors including the Ryzen 3200G processor are not compatible with Precision Boost Overdrive. Because Precision Boost Overdrive enables operation of the processor outside of specifications and in excess of factory settings, use of the feature invalidates the AMD product warranty and may also void warranties offered by the system manufacturer or retailer. Regarding visual appeal, the pump housing is the most representative value. Its dimensions are 87.1x74x62mm (LxWxH). A height of 62mm is quite a bit, yet it is understandable in light of Lian Li’s overall design implementations. The housing is mostly white, with some silver accents. Remember that we were looking for coolers to use with the high-temperature-producing Ryzen 9 7900X3D CPU, so we prioritized those that could maintain a low temperature under a heavy load. Aesthetics and Build Quality Video codec acceleration (including at least the HEVC (H.265), H.264, VP9, and AV1 codecs) is subject to and not operable without inclusion/installation of compatible media players. GD-176 If you’re looking at an Alphacool product, you can probably guess it will be a performance powerhouse. Eisbaer’s latest AIO CPU cooler, the Pro Aurora, is the product line’s natural progression. Alphacool has developed the Eisbaer Pro Aurora CPU AIO water cooler for CPUs with massive CPU dies.

A cooler’s longevity is greatly affected by its build quality; for example, if the radiator is made of aluminum, the device will last far longer than one with inferior quality. Naturally, your cooler’s performance, noise levels, and cooling efficiency are all affected by its build quality. These benchmark results clearly show that the Ryzen 9 7900X3D has a significant performance advantage over the Ryzen 7 7800X3D, particularly in multi-core tasks. Therefore, if you are looking for a high-performance CPU for demanding tasks such as video editing, 3D rendering, or gaming, the Ryzen 9 7900X3D may be a better choice for you, albeit at a higher price point. Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs Ryzen 9 7900X3D: Price

Finally, the TDP (thermal design power) of the Ryzen 9 is slightly higher than the Ryzen 7, with 128W compared to 120W. This means that the Ryzen 9 may consume a little more power under load. Ryzen 7 7800X3D vs Ryzen 9 7900X3D: Performance Opening with the flagship SKU, the Ryzen 9 7950X3D shares many of the same characteristics as the Ryzen 9 7900X, including 16-cores and 32-threads and a turbo frequency of up to 5.7 GHz. The enhanced chip offers 128MB of L3 cache, which is comprised of 64 MB of existing pooled L3 cache in the CCDs, and another 64 MB sliced on top with TSVs (presumably placing 64MB on one CCD, creating an unbalanced cache). Curiously, the official TDP is also much lower, with the chip rated at 120 W versus 170 W for the regular 7950X. Consequently, the 7950X3D has a lower base core frequency of 4.2 GHz, versus 4.5 GHz. Although the Ryzen 9 7950X3D has a 300 MHz slower base frequency, having the same turbo frequency of 5.7 GHz means that peak performance can be similar, though in heavily multithreaded situations the lower TDP is undoubtedly going to come into play.
