About this deal

The Philips Sonicare 4100 and 5100 electric toothbrushes effectively remove plaque and promote good oral hygiene. While the Sonicare 4100 comes with one C2 Optimal Plaque Control brush head, the Sonicare 5100 features one G2 Optimal Gum Care brush head. In addition, the 5100 boasts three brushing modes making it a more expensive option. As it stands, although the 1100 is based on the retail price the cheapest. In reality, the average discount on the 2100 Series is higher, making the average selling price lower than the 1100. The 3100 has the highest retail price and the highest average selling price of the models being compared.

After testing both toothbrushes for multiple days, I discovered that the Philips Sonicare 4100 and Philips Sonicare 5100 electric toothbrushes effectively eliminate plaque, particularly near the gum line. The Philips Sonicare electric-powered toothbrush comes with a pressure sensor. Your toothbrush stops automatically in case you are applying excessive pressure. The 4100 Series does provide the best overall cleaning experience, as I explain in the section below. Its brush motor has been tuned for a more satisfying clean. Not being a smart brush reduces the total number of components used and means not as much waste is created when the brush no longer works. If you have not used a power toothbrush before, the brushing sensation and experience you get will still feel more powerful than a manual toothbrush.

Some white handles have a coloured power button that gives an accent to the handle. Others have coloured handles with white brush heads. In contrast, the 4300, 4500, and 4700 models deliver a more intense 62,000 movements per minute, offering a deeper and more thorough cleaning experience.Triple tone of high-med-low means the Brush head replacement reminder feature has been deactivated. The battery level light indicator will also blink amber 1 time to confirm deactivation. If you continue holding the power on/off button after the three short beeps, the activate/deactivate sequence repeats.

The ProtectiveClean 4500 comes with a Pressure Sensor while enhancing your gum health up to a hundred % more when compared to a mechanical toothbrush. It looks good and feels quality in the hand. Squeezing the handle doesn’t result in any dubious sounding creaks or groans from the plastic. The key difference between Philips Sonicare ProtectiveClean 4700 and 4100 is the cleaning modes, the Protectiveclean 4700 has two while 4100 model has one. The easy-start feature gradually raises the strength of the brush as you become used to the Sonicare experience and also the smartimer encourages a complete two minutes brushing time as advised by your dental professional. The battery charge signal light tells you when it’s time to recharge; two-week battery life.

Customer reviews

A single W2 Optimal White brush head is provided with the 4100. It achieves a good overall clean. It is perfectly usable but is designed to maximise stain removal, to make the teeth appear whiter. We prefer the soft G2 Optimal Gum Care or C2 Optimal Plaque Control heads for everyday cleaning. Triple tone of low-med-high means the pressure sensor feature has been activated. The battery level light indicator will also blink green 2 times to confirm activation. Don’t worry if you end up activating the pressure sensor occasionally, I still do. You just want to correct frequent forceful brushing. Reminds you when your brush head needs replacing Petroleum based plastic is used in the construction of the brush which uses up the planet’s finite resources compared to using plant-based plastics.
