About this deal

For subfactions you can almost always go Ravagers. It’s just got all the perks, up to 5 Generals (each with their own command trait that is always active) and each turn you may choose a different Hero to be general. The general can summon units of Marauders or Warcry cultists and give a different “General” buff for the Mark of Chaos. Just generally great stuff and more of a reason to bring as many Mauraders in your bag as you can.

Emulating the Venombloods, these warriors have dipped the spikes of their shields in lethal venom. An anvil as good as any to have the enemy break on, these warriors are usually the first thing enemies of the Splintered Fang whet their blades on.To win ideally you remove the objective where your opponent has the most models and hope they don’t do it to you. Also the less models your opponent has left to put around the objective, the better, just saying.

The Pit Veterans are the more seasoned fighters of the warband, with greater stature and better armoured. [1c] Pit Fighters If you do take a monster they are so expensive in terms of points that it does drastically affect how your warband plays in terms of ability to control the board and hold objectives, so I would play a few games with your Warband as is before adding in a monster. If only building using 1 box, taking the Pit Veteran with Dual Weapons and Pit Fighter with Spear gives you the most versatility out of those fighters. Getting hold of more Pit Fighters can really up the competitiveness of the Spire Tyrants. The TechRaptor Spire Tyrants warband out of the warband box. Spire Tyrants General Tactics A single treasure, and if you are carrying it at the end of your activation then you take D6 damage. With the penalties for carrying treasure, it’s possible for your opponent to pin you in place and let the treasure kill you.On top of that, they have access to the Double ability Shield Ram, which gives them a chance to do either 1 damage or damage equal to the value of the Double to an adjacent enemy fighter after a move action. Where every other Warcry Chaos warband calls one of the eight Mortal Realms their home, the Spire Tyrants’ homeland is the Eightpoints itself. For my warband, I chose Mephiston Red for the armor plates, so my Pit Champion would look even more like his great rolemodel the Khorne Slaughterpriest.

Brutal Strike (Quad, Headclaimer and Bestigor Destroyer): A good chance to allocate 8 damage to an engaged enemy. I really enjoy any attempt to flesh out Path to Glory because it’s an idea I want to like but I think doesn’t quite get there yet. Largely because it wants lots of flavor mechanics that don’t exist quite yet. I think there’s a lot here that gets Path to Glory into the place it’s sort of destined to be. Eye of the Gods The sweet spot is 8-12 activations. You want plenty of ‘useful’ models with good abilities, high strength, high toughness and punch (though you won’t get all of these outside of very pricey models) and some jobbers to push buttons, act as speed bumps and play the objectives.

The Splintered Fang: One Cut, One Kill

Here we go, the Venombloods. These units in all their variations are the REAL combat threats compared to the Pureblood. This model can also be equipped with a Spear instead of a Whip which is my preference. You have a thousand points to spend and you can’t hit everything in the list below. Some warbands just don’t have all of the following available, and while you can use an ally slot to bring in a ringer and compensate for this, that means spending a lot of points when you only have a thousand points to spend.

Huge improvement on the previous Tome Celestial, especially on the Matched Play stuff. I thought every part about this was reasonably well thought out. Path to Glory could use a bit of work but it’s getting there. The Matched Play options are reasonable expectations that aren’t so good that they feel cheap. If they can match the quality of this stuff in future supplements I think they will be in a good place. I’m going to list a bunch of important factors, which you can’t get all of in your warband. That is fine because the game is designed that way, but you need to know what they are and have an answer for the things you don’t have. Introduced in the new season of Warcry, Reactions are things that can be done in certain circumstances, but always during the enemy turn. They cost one action, so they can be used only by fighters that have not activated yet or are waiting. There are 3 universal reactions and one specific to each warband:It’s easy to define the matchups between other warbands and the Splintered Fang. You can put out some serious damage. You cannot take much at all or you will lose. As you play more you’ll see the benefit of this, particularly in using it to see what your opponent does and then respond to it. You could even activate a disposable jobber, wait, then activate him on your next activation to push the button and use up a second activation, if you’ve got a non-vital model doing an objective related action or something. Suddenly you’ve pushed your opponent into two activations you can respond to, which could include things like moving their models to where they’re exposed against yours. He has the same statistics profile as the Pit Fighter with Punch Dagger, but with 1 less damage on critical hit. Otherwise, the Spear Pit Fighter will be standing alone, since everyone else in your warband is moving into 1″ melee range.
