About this deal

If you’d like your Easter egg to come with a clear conscience, Divine is always a good choice as the brand is famously co-owned by the cocao farmers it works with. So the farmers get a share of the profits they help to create, and you get a great tasting egg. What: We love Chococo’s handmade chocolates, and the Dorset chocolatiers really outdo themselves at Easter with a huge range of great eggs. This milk chocolate number is made from their signature 47% Colombian milk chocolate, and 5% of every sale goes towards the Ocean Giants conservation programme. The chocolate egg is made from dark chocolate, which is really rich in cocoa and leaves the comforting taste of sweet cocoa powder in your mouth. It’s the kind of flavour you get with a mug of really good dark hot chocolate. What: The title of this egg isn’t hyperbole, as it’s the size of an actual ostrich egg. The shell is made of milk chocolate that has been filled with crunchy cookie pieces and puffed rice, while the egg also comes with a tray of 20 chocs, meaning the whole thing amounts to over 1kg of chocolate. Just the right amount for one we think.

Many have tried to capture the creamy texture and flavour of white chocolate when making a vegan version, but few have succeeded. They’re often overly sweet with an almost waxy texture. Kakoa’s egg, however, has the perfect amount of sweetness and isn’t cloying on the tongue. When it comes to dark chocolate, you know you’re in safe hands with Montezuma*s – and this is certainly the case with this Easter hen.For the cheesecake filling, it stands the same that you MUST USE FULL-FAT soft cream cheese. Philadelphia for example is a much more classic cheesecake flavour, whereas if you use mascarpone it would be sweeter! We’ve done the hard work taste testing to help you find the best vegan Easter chocolates, whether you prefer: The cardboard 3D puzzle that comes with the box is simple to put together and a nice little keepsake. There are 6 different rabbit designs to collect (from English Spot to Lion Head), and each puzzle comes with a fact sheet to tell you about that type of bunny, which adds a gently educational element. The chocolate has a fantastic snap, a gorgeous gloss to the shell, and notes of vanilla in the tasting. What: Can’t choose between milk chocolate and dark chocolate? Choose both with Chococo’s giant half and half treat, which weighs in at a solid half kilo of handcrafted chocolate heaven, including handmade chocolates inside.

What: If you’re that person that eats all the leftover Bounty bars from a box of Celebrations, this coconut egg could be just what you’re looking for this Easter. Bonus points to beloved Notting Hill chocolatiers Melt, who’ve done a bang up job of making this look like a real coconut. Although these aren’t technically Easter eggs, the new Rabbit collection from PLAYin Choc is a special release for Easter, and they do make a very appealing treat for both children and young-at-heart adults.

The verdict: Easter eggs

Ethical chocolate brand Love Cocoa, which was created by the great-great-great grandson of the original Mr Cadbury, has a real treat for dark chocolate lovers this Easter. I adore honeycomb, so couldn’t wait to try Butterm!lk’s vegan milk chocolate egg with crunchy honeycomb flakes. It even comes with a generously-sized Honeycomb Blast bar that is super chunky – far bigger than a certain non-vegan chocolate bar! verifyErrors }}{{ message }}{{ /verifyErrors }}{{ What: Venchi is the last word in luxury Italian chocolate, so who better to turn to when you want the best of the best? This incredible white chocolate egg is hiding a little surprise inside - a layer of Piedmontese hazelnuts, pistachios and lightly salted almonds.

There are 5 decadent truffle flavours available: Hazelnut Crunch, Fine De Champagne, Chocolate Orange, Honeycomb Caramel, and Chocolate Salted Caramel (this is the flavour that we tried). Gluten-free: Yes but it may contain trace amounts as it is not manufactured in a dedicated gluten facility

You can make the biscuit base chocolate themed for this Easter chocolate orange cheesecake by using 25g cocoa powder in the base. I prefer doing this compared to using a chocolate biscuit as I find the melted butter melted the chocolate and creates a more mushy base! What: It’s a hot cross bun, but not as you know it. This tasty treat swaps your classic bun for chocolate and more chocolate, but the chocolate is spiced with cinnamon, nutmeg and the like, and loaded with raisins and orange jelly pieces. The vegan white chocolate is made using rice and oat milk so it melts with ease, filling your mouth with a buttery sweetness and creamy vanilla flavour. What: It’s that smooth, delicious Lindt chocolate you know and love, but with a blood orange twist. This tasty LINDOR variant is new for 2023 and comes with a bunch of those absolutely sensational truffles inside - Easter isn’t complete without a few Lindt truffles is it?
