Geena denies assaulting Lee and tells Elise that she is gaslighting her and almost hits her with a hammer. Lee stops his wife from hurting Geena and tells Elise that they WILL be moving, even though Geena refuses to leave. Hot Chocolate Holiday' Review: Conflicts over recipe and love in air When will 'Deadly Ex Next Door' release and where to watch it? When Esme and Elliot’s relationship has gone a bit to far and David witness the whole thing! I believe that is part of what helps Esme see Elliot for who he truly is. And Wow! I just am so happy on how Esme trusts herself and how she ends up managing her situation with Elliot! One look at April, and Steff’s bear has found his fated mate. But he’s bound and determined to get her to hate him and, hopefully, break their bond.

I don't know if I am being overly sensitive regarding the topic of abortion with all the political bullshit going on right now, but the scene where Kellan (the brother) bad mouths the mother of his child left me feeling fairly pissed off. Steff and April have history. High school sweethearts, planning for a future together, when it all falls apart. Steff leaves her to persue his dream of becoming a pro baseball player. April is devastated. Decides to leave their small Colorado town for the bright lights of big city L.A. I am an independent reviewer. This book is the 2nd in the Secret Shifters Next Door series and ends in an HEA for the couple, but the plot line continues. There is a new couple in this book, but also a lot of scenes with Book 1’s couple, Harley and Tate with their newborn! A curse brings the shifter friends to their mates. If they don’t actually mate with these women, they will die. Tate is saved, so it is now Steff’s turn. Steff is a bear shifter who gets a second chance at his high school love, April. April is a supermodel whose wild behavior sends her running home to hide. The meeting between Steff and April is very realistic, as are the meetings between Steff and his former BFF’s (April’s brothers). I really enjoyed the side characters and their subplots. I thought that each character was hilarious in their own way and I was interested in their little lives. I also enjoyed the resolution of the story, along with seeing Esme's personal growth. It was very satisfying to read her understanding her revelations. That being said, there are some things that made my review waver. It's quite the treat to read especially having an ex-spouse in my real life named 'David' however, I tried not to let that thought overtake this book. Don’t forget to listen to the Lifetime Uncorked Podcast available on iTunes, Stitcher, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts! At first, I wasn't loving this book. Though the writing style immediately gripped me, the romance was slowly losing my interest. There was barely any interaction with the "ex," whom I thought was the love interest for a good chunk of the book. As the story progressed, I began to hate the "ex" more and more, finding him to be the most insufferable, flattest love interest of all time. Turns out, I was looking in the wrong place because he was NOT the story's major love interest. When I say I gasped!!!! Platt played me successfully, and I totally should've seen it coming. I had theories, but I second-guessed myself for most of the book. Turns out, my favorite male character of the book is the love interest! Platt wrote the romance in such an interesting way, that I thought for sure Megan and David would end up together. However, when the MC began to realize her feelings for David, I squealed with joy. The seeds had been there all along and it made perfect sense. I absolutely LOVED the last 25% of the book--including the resolution. It was a such a fantastic "switcheroo," and turned the story into a beautiful "friends to lover" romance, rather than a "second chance" romance like I immediately thought. (I went in blind!). Since that man is dead, a sexy lady moves in next door. Katie brings over a fruit basket to welcome the new neighbor, but she isn’t home. Katie is an illustrator and children’s book writer and Dan just got a promotion at work. Katie goes golfing with her hot husband, Dan and they ponder who the new neighbor could be!

As you read this “author” it becomes very apparent that not all of the books are written by the same person. There are inconsistencies and continuity issues. Not to mention all the books seem to follow the same predictable pattern. And editing is a serious problem. It is a convention of almost any Lifetime film that the protagonist is slow in discovering that he or she is in grave danger from a deranged human being. But in "Your Husband in Mine" (a.k.a., "The Ex Next Door"), this premise is taken to absurd degrees. She Swifty Seek’s (this movie’s Google) Louisa’s name and looks at her social media accounts and talks to herself about how crazy Louisa is. (Added in post with terrible voice over.) Then Katie finds the camera in her house. She sneaks over to Louisa’s house (like on her tippy toes) and finds a laptop in the bedroom dresser. The laptop contains footage of Louisa setting up the cameras, she is the hooded figure. It also has footage of the night of the murder that would be Dan’s alibi. despite all these, i have to say that the writing style gripped me—all narrative, no POVs, easy for me to read in one setting without being tired or restless or needing a break. I really thought this book would be a 4 or 5 star review for me because I found the plot and writing engaging and interesting. Author Elise and her artist husband Allan live in a house by the lake. Their elderly neighbor Chester loves to fish and thinks his neighbors are hippies. They want him to sell so they can start an artist retreat.

It begins with Esme and a broken pipe which leads to an entirley new situation that's all encompassing. David is her biz partner but also a possible 'motivator' personally and professionally. What seems innocently enough in terms of a 2nd location to expand upon their already lively biz turns into a possible test of their relationship status as professionals as well as friends. I received an advance review copy for free thanks to NetGalley and Canelo and I am leaving this review voluntarily. The escort finds out about Katies scheme with the carpet cleaner, so she suffocates him with a plastic bag. She stages it to look like Dan killed her “boyfriend”. She tells the cops and they are like… WTF is this movie and why are we in it. They arrest Dan and it is all set up to look like Dan and Louisa were having an affair. Branded as "an utterly charming and funny romance," The Ex Next Door is a fun contemporary fiction that is great for fans of Sophie Kinsella or Mhairi McFarlane.

Speaking of neighbors, a new couple moves in next door. A couple, Lee and his girlfriend Geena, move into Chester’s house. They are surprised Elise lives next door and try to apologize. Lee is Elise’s former fiance, and Geena was her best friend.

Further more, Esme realizes she actually has growing feelings for David, but there seems to be bad timing until Esme finally confronts her feelings! It is sooo sweet when David realise something different in Esme. Without Esme realise she little bit teritory to David and David very jealous man lol, but he put boundry and think Esme off limit only partner business. stars - I didn’t connect to any of the characters and i had to force myself to continue reading if I’m honest. Definitely not a book to read if you’re trying to get out of a reading slump… When Elliot and Esme decide to keep their former relationship a secret from those around them, their subterfuge sets off a chain of events which not only forces Esme to re-evaluate her past relationship with Elliot, but also puts her friendship with David under the microscope and under pressure. Katie has a dinner party while Louisa makes some more carpet cleaner smoothie and then arrives fashionably late. While Dan is doing the dishes Louisa caresses him from behind. Katie catches them and assumes her husband is cheating. Katie leaves and goes to stay with her friend. (who is pointless in this movie.) Dan is left by himself with Louisa, he slams the door in her face.

What is it with Elliot? He dosnt want to lose Morgan but cant force himself to release Esme. Why oh why Esme still thinking the possible of reconcile? Did she not thinking Eliot will do the same thing to her too? Double red flagss Grrr.. The Hunters seem to be a continuing thread throughout the books. Each book brings the mystery closer to being solved. While Steff and April finally work things out between them, the story continues. Meanwhile, Geena and Elise get into an altercation in the woods. Geena continues to pressure Elise on her feeling about Lee. She is paranoid that her husband is still in love with Elise. The Ex Next Door is a contemporary romance ... with a twist. This book was not what I was expecting. I expected a second-chance romance from the title, but I was pleasantly surprised to see that was not the route the author chose to take! Katie takes Louisa to the golf club and brings up the whole dating her husband thing. Louisa tells Katie that it was nothing, but is clearly jealous. She goes home and cries in a bubble bath while holding a picture of her and Dan at a New Years event? To prove she is over Dan, or not. Louisa hires a male escort to pretend to be her boyfriend.
