About this deal

Edit 1/2/21: Definitely my best book of January (tied with Where Dreams Begin). I can't stop thinking about this book. Tell me when the next book release alreaddyyyyy In Highbell, people sometimes traveled for weeks just to look at me. Midas would let me stand beside him in the throne room as they gawked. But no matter how long I stood there on the pedestal for them to look, no one really saw me. If they did, they’d know I’m just a girl with jagged rips and pitted holes inside of her, with golden skin hiding a broken heart. The Booktok hit: The Plated Prisoner Series continues in book 4. This dark adult fantasy romance is inspired by the myth of King Midas and the gold-touched woman who realizes her true worth. For ten years, I’ve lived in a gilded cage inside King Midas’s golden castle. But one night changed everything.

Are people so content in ignorance that they'll believe every lie fed to them, despite what they right in front of their eyes?" Sigh...this wasn't my favorite book, ever. This is just my opinion so take this with a grain of salt, but I thought this book could have been better.Leading the army is Commander Rip, a notorious warrior whose name is whispered in taverns and street corners all over the six kingdoms.

Queen Malina's side story. Her importance to the story has been a mystery to me, and I never really enjoyed her POV chapters in any of the books until now! Her role in what happens at the end is a huge deal, and I'm curious to see what she does moving forward. As she meets a few soldiers of the Fourth’s army, Auren changes more and more. She gains confidence and realizes that not everyone is trying to take advantage of her or abuse her. For the first time in forever, she is treated as a human being. She is a captive, but she is not in a cage, nor is she insulted or treated like an object of a whore. There is definitely a “found family” vibe there and I adored it! I can’t wait to see more of her with Keg, Judd, Lu, and Osrik.

Raven Kennedy is a famous American writer of paranormal, romance, erotica, romantic suspense, urban fantasy, humor, supernatural, and fantasy stories. She is the creator of several mind-blowing novel series of paranormal romance, including the Savannah Heirs series, Heart Hassle series, Void Universe series, Plated Prisoner series, Hellgate Guardians series, etc. Read this series NOW! I felt like I was in the story watching and holding my breath the entire time' 5***** Reader Review Everything is reaching its crescendo. I cannot wait for the fifth book. I need someone to put me into sleep paralysis until the next book is released because how am I supposed to move on.. Glow was, without a shred of doubt, a five star read for me and I’m excited to see it out in the world and in everyone’s hands now, too!

Plus the obvious calculation by inserting quotes and copy-pasting well-known quotes almost word for word into the book leaves me with no other choice than to drop the series, leave a one star review and steer clear from any future publications. Honestly, it’s hard to review this books without spoilers. I can’t say much of anything without tipping you off about….all the stuff. In it, you are still following Auren who is the gold plated whore (according to everyone who doesn't know shit about her) and the favored by King Midas. While on this journey with her new kidnappers, she learns a bunch about herself and the other saddles. First off, I hate the saddles because of how they treated Auren throughout these two books. They know absolutely nothing about her and judge her constantly. So, yeah, I felt bad for her and I wanted them all to be turned to gold and die. I can't wait to see the rest of you. When you let it go, when you finally let that out, your fury is going to light up the spirit you've shadowed." He looks like someone who's won, boasting in superiority. "I hope you burn so bright that you scorch your Golden King down to ash." Every female character is the exact same weak, helpless, whiny petite figure who hates a specific male but can’t do anything unless a new male helps her do it.RK is slowly turning me into a hulking mad woman. all the things that made this series not so stellar were starting to get on my nerves. 😑 I thought I was going to die, and would have if it weren’t for Slade. The only way he could save me was to open a rip between worlds. The only way for me to save myself was to go through it. I may be out of my cage, but I’m not free, not even close. In the game of kings and armies, I’m the gilded pawn. The question is, can I out maneuver them? There is romance in this book, of course, and it's a delicious mix of sweet moments, dirty talk, smut, and also serious conversations, and some clashing between Auren and Slade. On a little side note, while I have nothing against dirty talk in books, I struggled to get on board with it a few times during this book... I can't really explain why, because I don't mind graphic details or very spicy smut, but the dirty talk kinda clashed with the intense moments at times... She enjoys writing all kinds of books, because each one brings a different experience. Whatever the genre, she hopes she creates characters you can root for.

A spectacularly written, engaging, imaginative retelling of the ancient myth of King Midas' 5***** Reader Review People will want to fight me on this and I'm ready, waiting and prepared to go to battle ... cause you know NOTHING happened. 😇 I will say that this time round, this book is more focused on fleshing out the characters and the plot slowed a bit, but Raven does moves the plot to a new direction I'm very happy with. Commander Rip (yes, that’s really how they call him) reminded me of Rhysand in ACOMAF a lot! The way he’s portrayed as a big bad villain, but was actually respectful and even kinda sweet, and the way he questioned and pushed Auren even though she didn’t like it, just so she could realize exactly how badly Midas treated her, and how much more she could be. Rip just kept on challenging her and he is the main reason she started to see things more clearly and she realized that she didn’t need to spend her life in a cage to be protected from the world if she was strong enough to protect herself. As I said… Big Rhysand vibes here, but I’m not complaining at all, and Auren’s growth also reminded me of Feyre’s. I guess I could also compare their dynamic to Poppy and Casteel’s… Now I’m here, a prisoner of Fourth Kingdom’s army, and I’m not sure if I’m going to make it out of this in one piece. They’re marching to battle, and I’m the bargaining chip that will either douse the fire or spark a war.I hoped all through book 1 that it was setting up for my favorite type of retelling. Now, having finished book 2, I can confirm that ABSOLUTELY IT WAS. 😈 I can’t even tell you what retelling it is without giving the end away.
