About this deal

Hisense uses Google TV as a smart TV interface for the U8K series. A built-in mic gives you a hands-free voice command option (the microphone can also be switched off) and there’s also a button-activated mic on the set’s remote control. Beyond Google Assistant, the U8K has an Alexa voice control option, and it supports Apple HomeKit and AirPlay 2 for streaming from an iPhone or iPad. Chromecast built-in provides yet another streaming option. Hisense TVs have all the tech they need to succeed, but top-tier features doesn't always add up to a top TV. A brand needs the know-how and skill to make the most of them. Display types Anyway, the 65U7KQTUK is a 4K ULED TV with Quantum Dot technology, capable – so says Hisense – of reproducing over one billion colours.

Hisense’s flagship mini-LED TV flies high on value

Assembly is easy and, like before, there’s a cable clutter system to route cables through the protruding ‘feet’ of the stand for a tidier area. The stand supports the TV well, just like it did on the older model, but it takes up a lot of space.

Max light output HDR (high dynamic range) while displaying small white square taking up 10% of the screen (measured in Nits) It has Dolby Vision and HDR10+ support, as well as advanced DTS audio format support, but its low-quality content smoothing is poor, so it isn't as good for a home entertainment center as the higher-end models. Still, it's cheaper than the other TVs, and for the price, it's one of the best budget models currently on the market. If you're not looking for high-end performance or features, you'll be very satisfied with the U6. Google TV’s Live TV portal presents a time-based guide featuring free-to-stream (ad-supported, of course) channels, with everything from movies to national news to cooking shows on the menu. With one of the best indoor antennas connected, you can also select a Tuner option to see a guide listing live programs from your local broadcast TV channels. Interestingly, the guide flags any ATSC 3.0 channels, so you can easily tell which stations in your area have been upgraded for “NextGen” digital TV. Not only do some of Hisense’s affordable sets rank among the best 4K TVs, but the company has also successfully expanded into the projector market, with certain models in its Laser TV lineup, such as the PX1 Pro , counting among the best 4K projectors.Impressively, this TV has very good image processing, which is welcome for Hisense as that used to be a feature reserved for name brands such as LG and Sony. This makes it a cheaper home entertainment alternative to very expensive models from the two aforementioned brands, especially as it supports both HDR10+ and Dolby Vision, as well as DTS advanced audio formats. Unfortunately, its viewing angle is disappointing, so it's not very well suited for a wide seating arrangement.

As I am removing the plastic you realise that the screen has almost no bezel and the screen seems to float over it. You’d have to go some to find a 65-inch television as thoroughly specified as this one for less than Hisense wants for the 65U7KQTUK – so as long as it performs up to the standard of its specification rather than down to the level of its asking price, it’s going to be a winner… Availability Watching a more familiar test disc for color, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.2, the psychedelic palette of the scenes that take place on Ego’s home planet were rendered in a clean, yet fully saturated way. The few human faces revealed natural-looking skin tones, and the U8H’s combination of powerful brightness and well-modulated contrast could be appreciated in the overall dynamic and vibrant quality of images. Just because we’ve all got used to Hisense products being very aggressively priced relative to a) their specification and b) their most obvious rivals, that doesn’t make it any less notable. Most OLED TVs with the same screen size will cost around twice as much as the U8H while offering considerably lower picture brightness. So if that specific attribute is important to you, you will find the value proposition of Hisense’s U8H to be irresistible. AppNexus sets the anj cookie that contains data stating whether a cookie ID is synced with partners. So yes, as I may have already mentioned: this is a specification that’s out of proportion to the asking price. Picture Quality Percentage luminance drop at 35 degree horizontal angle from the centre of the screen with 100% white output

Pricing for the U8K series is highly competitive and appears set to not only put Hisense’s bigger-brand mini-LED competition – most notably Samsung and Sony – on notice, but fellow budget-oriented brand TCL as well. Prices for U8K series TVs have also dropped by quite a bit since they first shipped in June, with the 65-inch model I tested now selling for 25% less than its initial cost. The new OLED and Mini LED sets take top billing for 2021, which has led to the QLED/ULED options shuffling down the line to make space, the A7G looking to offer HDR performance at an affordable price. Otherwise it's hard to say how Hisense TVs compare for sound technology - you really need to hear the speakers to see how they square up.Hisense uses the Google TV smart interface for the U8K series. Like many smart TV interfaces, the home screen is loaded up with content recommendations, though Google TV also has an “Apps Only” mode that creates a more stripped-down presentation when enabled. Entering your Google account credentials or creating a new account, will provide you with personalized content recommendations, with the results based both on your viewing history and Google Chrome browsing activity. Multiple accounts can be created, which allows everyone in the household to have their own Google TV “experience”. HDMI 2.1 inputs with 4K/120Hz, variable refresh rate (VRR), auto low latency mode (ALLM), and enhanced audio return channel (eARC) Measured using a Bodnar 4K HDMI tester with the U8K in Game mode, input lag on the U8K was 13ms, which is an average performance. When a game console input is detected, the U8K’s ALLM (auto low latency mode) feature automatically switches the TV to Game mode, and you will be able to use an onscreen game menu to adjust settings like Brightness, Dark Detail, Picture Size and High Refresh Rate Mode.
