About this deal

I was not super positive at first. I was irritated by the interfaces, both on the GPS, the smartphone App and the online environment. I really had to search before I realized everything. Once that worked out, I became more positive. I like the robustness of the device itself, the accuracy and reliability. I don’t think I will use all the functionalities (such as Live Strava segments, no way ;-), but for others the wealth of functionalities of this small, robust, smart device will still be very attractive. And for € 150 euros it is quite a well-priced device. Hopefully this clears some things up. We’d be happy to continue answering questions here for a bit if there are any more. But the latest software update to Lezyne’s phone app adds Komoot integration, which lets you select the Komoot Tours menu option on your phone to get a listing of your mapped routes and select one to follow, which is then pushed to the GPS unit. Komoot provides a more intuitive route builder and a menu of other people’s rides to tap into. The computer is USB rechargeable and, compared to previous Lezyne models, the charging system is far more water resistant for additional protection and durability. The computer comes with up to 28 hours of battery life. Display Data

Each button on the Edge 520 Plus has a dedicated function. We found the multifunction buttons of the Super GPS to be a bit less intuitive than the Garmin Edge 520 design. Pushing the wrong button or not getting the desired result was a more frequent occurrence with the Super GPS. In addition, the lap button on the Super GPS is on the left side — both the Edge 520 Plus and Edge 830 position the lap button on the lower edge of the housing, making them easier to access, particularly at the end of a hard interval. Despite these gripes, the Super GPS button layout is functional and gets the job done, it just takes a bit of getting used to.Below, I share my experience with Lezyne Super Pro GPS. I’ve been using it for a few weeks. Display I really had to get used to operating the Super Pro GPS with the four, according to Lezyne, “intuitive” buttons. In a time where touchscreen operation is the standard, I find myself simply not so much used to operate menus via button combinations anymore. So operating the Super Pro was not easy for me. Weatherproof The computer also now sync's with the Komoot and Relive apps for users interested in the features those provide. The Komoot app can aid in route planning for touring and road riding. I was a bit pessimistic when the Lezyne Super Pro GPS unit showed up at my door. Over the years, a few companies have tried to take on the two giants of the on-bike GPS units and had little to no impact. Lezyne, known for its tools and accessories to enhance your time on and off the bike, has stepped into the proverbial GPS heavy-weight ring with its latest offerings of devices. Lezyne Super Pro and Ally + mobile app The Ally app also lets you seamlessly transfer ride data to Lezyne’s GPS Root computer app and to Strava, TrainingPeaks and Today’s Plan. There’s support for Strava Live, while incoming call and text notifications are pushed from your phone to the GPS.

All credible GPS computers will offer either Ant+ or Bluetooth Smart connectivity (often both), which in turn allows you to pair the computer with a range of third-party devices, including heart rate monitors, power meters and cadence sensors. These will then return a wealth of related data. Pairs with Bluetooth Smart or ANT+ enabled heart rate monitors, cadence/speed sensors and power meters It can pair sensors like power meters, HR monitors, etc., and offers smart trainers’ control compatibility. New styling gives the device an enhanced look and feel, and it can be rotated horizontally for those that prefer a landscape view.In the Offline Maps list, you can see the map listed as Not available for routing. This is because the map is on the GPS device, but not in the app. The Lezyne Super Pro GPS weighs 60 grams and its battery life is around 28 hours, while it will record up to 400 hours of riding data, so there’s plenty of capacity to keep you riding as long as you like.

Both are just not that easy to use and I actually got so annoyed at first that I put it off for quite some time. Because I needed to review the device well, I pushed through and eventually I managed to get the route I wanted to follow on the Super GPS. But I think that Lezyne would do well to have Interaction Designers upgrade their software to more user friendly versions. The Super GPS Enhanced has a range of different features. We break down each feature below with comparison to other devices we tested. It has fewer available features than the Garmin Edge models, the Mega XL and the ELEMNT Bolt, so it scores lower than those products. When compared to products such as the Cateye Strada Slim, the Super GPS has many more features and scores much higher. Basics The direct-sunlight readability is fine, and the system also allows you to change the color scheme (light/dark). Battery Life

When a Lezyne GPS freezes you can shut down the device by pressing 'Menu' and 'Enter' for 30 seconds. We call this a 'Hard Reset'. If this happens while driving, you will unfortunately lose all your recorded trip data. Another neat option is the ability to set the unit in landscape or portrait mode; I liked landscape, which makes a bit better use of screen area. The more bike computers I test, the more I appreciate Wahoo’s simplicity. That’s especially true if you take on treacherous trails as a mountain biker.

To update your Lezyne GPS unit, you'll need a Windows or Mac computer. No other operating systems are supported. Updating your Lezyne GPS Lezyne has its own mounting system. It’s a bit more robust than Garmin’s, as you need to push down and turn the unit a quarter turn to engage it, so the computer is less likely to slip out. The mount sits a bit higher on the bike than Garmin’s too, although it’s attached with a similar system using two rubber bands. It’s monochromatic and low resolution, so it doesn’t require too much power. This translates into longer battery life. Looking at the GPS traces on Strava, there’s a bit of drift from the line of the road, particularly on wooded routes, but it’s no worse than with many other GPS units.I bought a used Super Pro GPS that was used for about a year. The previous owner didn’t reset it to the factory settings, so I had to delete the activities and adjust the settings.
