About this deal

Without Bishop ruling over the town of Morganville, life has changed - dramatically. The resident vampires have made major concessions to the human population. With their newfound freedoms, Claire Danvers and her friends are almost starting to feel comfortable again, but when a filmmaker goes missing after starting work on a short documentary about vampires, Clair and her friends are feeling anything but safe. Clair goes away to college at 16 and finds Eve, Michael and Shane when she tries flees the campus dorm to avoid being killed. Those 3 friends are all dealing with problems but then so is everyone in Morganville due to the patron system of the vampires. College kids are supposed to be off limits but of course that's not what happens. Claire is very smart and becomes the "pet" of the queen of the vamps. Other than her intelligence I can never figure out why. Eve is a got, Michael is amazingly wonderful and Shane has all the charm of a burping, headstrong, handsome 18 year old. But they are loyal and sometimes funny.

The story didn't go too fast nor too slow, and the world that Rachel made was fantastic. Again, I'm sure I'm one of the few people left in this world who has yet to read it, but I'm glad I did. I also love how Rachel ends each book with a cliffhanger of sorts. Magnus is the master draug that has been hunting the vampires forever. In Last Breath, he kills Claire and catches most of the vampires, like Michael, Oliver, and Amelie's blood sister Naomi (who at the end, gets freed). He also bites Amelie, causing more chaos. The storyline was fast paced , exciting, suspenseful, dangerous and I really enjoyed it. There was some romance, more hot smooches, relationships are forming. We learn more of the magic, I suppose you could say, of the vampire world. Shane has seen some very dark days of his own and only knows too well the dangers, lurking. Claire is oblivious but is a fast learner. She has to be. So while I didn't love the book, it was fun and cute, and I'm probably going to continue the series just to see where things go.Morganville is again thrown into chaos when a new group of vampires arrives. These vampires are different from those Claire and her friends have faced before and are more dangerous. I enjoyed the rivalry situation and the character’s bonding. However, the storyline in this book felt duller than previous ones. The book ended without a resolution, but some readers are excited to continue reading the series. 6. Carpe Corpus I first read the Morganville Vampires series about four years ago, at the beginning of my experience with Paranormal and Urban-Fantasy. At the time I though Twilight and The House of Night were THE SHIT so this wasn't my favorite because it's much darker. But now, 4 years later, I still like this when I can't even stand to read the first book of the other two series. I SHIP CLAIRE AND SHANE OMG THEY'RE SO FUDGING CUTE LIKE SO CUTE WHEN I'M PICTURING THEM TOGETHER. As for Eve and Michael, yeah yeah whatever I don't mind anything. Do whatever you guys want hahaha. Shane’s father , I can understand his state of mind with his daughter and wife, but I think his mind may have crossed the line into forgetting he has a son, somebody that he should be loving ,not pushing away with blind fury and possibly ending up a bit unstable in the brain department. His devotion to his cause is getting out of control. It’s hurting who he should love, deeply and his methods!!! So Claire, decided to find a new place, rules are rules, students who are below 18 or 20 are not allowed to find a new apartment or room outside campus. But Claire can't take it anymore, so she entered this weird house called Glass' House and met Eve, Shane and Michael. Eve, is a gothic girl who works in a bar and had this mysterious co-worker, Oliver. Shane, an experiment vampire who had a crush on Claire. While Michale, the owner of the house and a ghost, he usually the one who protects the place and he works as the Protector.

It seems that an organization called the Daylight Foundation has offered the population of Morganville something they’ve never had: hope of a vampire-free future. And while it sounds like salvation—even for the vampires themselves—the truth is far more sinister and deadly. Morganville teaser trailer". YouTube. October 22, 2014. Archived from the original on 2021-12-15 . Retrieved October 26, 2014. The series follows Claire Danvers, a 16-year-old girl who moves to Morganville, Texas, to attend Texas Prairie University. Claire is super smart, and since her parents won’t let her go to MIT or Yale, she settles for TPU. So Claire lives on the top floor of a dorm she doesn’t want to be in anymore. This is because the meanest of the school’s mean girls. Monica Morrell is making her life a living difficult. Claire is being bullied by Monica and her friends, Jennifer and Gina, and three popular Mingo bullies against one new girl who barely knows anyone. That's actually another thing I liked about GLASS HOUSES: Caine uses traditional vampire lore. Garlic and crosses repel vampires. They can't be out in the sunlight unless they're very old or very powerful. They can't cross your threshold unless they've been invited in. They kill to feed. Make no mistake, these are the evil kinds of vampires that your mom grew up with, and honestly, my personal favorite kind. The world building was something I had absolutely zero problems with, and I kept thinking to myself what a shame it was that the main character was so freaking stupid.

What To Read Next

The story features the familiar action and suspense of the Morganville Vampire series but with a slower buildup in the beginning that allows the characters to live normal lives for change. However, the calm is soon disrupted by the arrival of new characters who bring danger and chaos. The story eventually leads to a rollercoaster of action, fear, and danger, with a resolution that excites readers for the next book. While the book can be read as a standalone novel, there are hints of future plot developments that will continue into the next one. 8. Houses similar to Claire's own, these houses are located throughout Morganville. They are connected to each other through Ada, Myrnin's invention that keeps up memory barriers in town (later replaced by Frank Collins, Shane's father). Amelie often makes her appearances in these houses in the early novels. This book follows the adventures of Claire and her friends (Eve, Shane, and Michael). They struggle to survive in a town where danger lurks around every corner. The characters develop well, and the reader gets to explore more of the vampire society in the town. Glass Houses’ , is more world building, getting to know the characters, establishing why humans even live in Morganville when they know vampires rule Morganville . They have been chased by the ugly vampires and the ugly Moniketes who are unbearable because of there spoiled attitude because of the lost book which contained the secrets of the vampires. Glass Houses. There’s something the vampires want, Claire pulls a Nancy Drew, does some creative snooping, all is revealed, so she thinks... who knew going to College was this difficult.
