Recharging is easy and absolutely rapid with a type-c charging cable, recharging from 0-80% in just 30 minutes. We found a full charge takes around 50 minutes if the kit is completely dead. Filling the pod is made easy thanks to the V2 side or V3 top filling port – meaning there is no need to remove the pod from the device to fill with the V3.
To refill the included 2ml OXVA Xlim C pod, all you need to do is pull out the silicone plug that’s on the side to reveal the filling port and top up with your chosen e-liquid. You can also adjust the airflow to feel tighter or looser by using the switch on the side of the device. To get the most out of your kit, we’d recommend using it with an e-liquid that has a 50/50 or a high PG concentration. Press the fire button 3X to switch between the three available power levels which are Green(high), Blue(medium), and Red(low) Xlim pods are available in 3 options – with a choice of 0.6Ω, 0.8Ω or 1.2Ω fixed mesh coils for the Xlim & Xlim SE Kit. The convenient fixed coil design of Xlim pods eliminates the need for coil changes. When the coil reaches the end of its life simply replace the pod with a new one.
Warning: If the coils has a sub-ohm resistance, please make sure you have a great understanding and technical knowledge on how to use mods and batteries that can handle Sub-Ohm coils. Do not use short or flat 510 connection on any hybrid or hybrid style device. If you are not familiar or unsure of particular products or set-ups, please do not use it. Always use proper precautions and handling. The 0.6 Ohm RDTL version creates the most vapour and can be used at 18 - 22W; the 0.8 Ohm MTL coil works with an output of 13 - 17W; and 8 - 12W is the ideal range for the 1.2 Ohm MTL coil, which produces the smallest amount of vapour. No matter which of these coils you prefer, we’d suggest using an e-liquid with a 50/50 or high PG concentration for best results. For first time filling or when using a new coil leave it to stand for 10 minutes before use to make sure the coil is fully saturated with e-liquid. Vape too early and you could either bugger up the coil or get a dry hit from hell!
Most of it is similar to the previous versions with a side fill port with a lift up silicone cover. There is even a little indent to allow you to get your thumbnail under the cover with ease. After around a while of testing, we found that the Xlim C coils can last between 7 and 22 days with the average being 13 days which is high for a pod device using Nic Salt e-liquid. What type of person is the OXVA Xlim C kit for? Still, the Xlim and the Xlim SE had one minor fault: they didn’t offer a changeable coil option for vapers who prefer swapping coils instead of pods (even the Caliburn series has a device that uses changeable coils). There can be no doubt that OXVA produce some of the best kits in the game when it comes to small pod devices. The Xlim C really is a great kit but I remain unconvinced it’s better than it’s predecessors. The replaceebale coil seems unecessary and I can’t see any upside to it. Although the Xlim C doesn’t leak and the coils last well, it does make it prone to these things. The flavour production is incredible, just like disposables with the right liquid. Battery life is strong and an adjustable airflow is of course welcomed. All round, this is an excellent kit for beginners. It is a Push in “pull out” coil design – just make sure to align the flat edge of the coil with the flat edge on the pod. International The final detail of note on the main body is the airflow control on the side. This is a simple sliding affair with three holes which you reveal depending on your preference. With one hole open, you can get a tight MTL vape, fully open you can have a lightly restricted DTL, and then you can fine tune things to your requirements. Whilst I’m normally a MTL vaper, I found I preferred fully open, it has just the right balance of restriction and flavour.
The battery life of the XLIM C seems very good for a device like this. It comes with an internal battery listed at 900 mAh and a charge rate listed at 2A. The port is Type-C, and it’s located at the bottom of the device, so it has to lie down while charging. Not a big deal, but I prefer devices that can stand up while charging. It is also super simple to use, the coil changing and filling is easy peasy so I would recommend this kit to a new vaper any day.
The battery life is indicated on the LED light surrounding the button, with three different colours; red (<30%), blue (30-65%) and green (65-100%). The first coil I tried was the 0.8Ω (ohm) coil, and this lasted me two whole weeks before the flavour started to wane. This might be the best coil life I’ve ever gotten out of a pod kit.
This is perfectly happy with my 6mg Nic salt 50/50 e-liquid but is not quite as smooth as the 0.8ohm coil. I found I used this at the lowest power setting (18W) as it really felt warm and harsh on the higher power settings. The output was consistent until the last few vapes before the battery conked out which is always great. Testing coil performance on the XLIM C has been kinda fun because I haven’t used their coils before, so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I’ve used coils from most companies out there, so I have a pretty good idea of where most of them usually stand. This has definitely more of an RDL vape than before and still closes off enough for an excellent MTL vape too! Mod Performance
Final Review Verdict
The output is specified as 25W maximum but there are 3 levels of power output to select. These power levels depend on the coil installed… You get a massive throat hit which is obvious due to the lower resistance coil and higher power level (22W on high). I have found the airflow to be slightly more open on this version. On the older versions I had it fully open. Whereas now I am actually adjusting it.
