If you want your system to have a clean look, it may behoove you to get an enclosure that not just fits your Pi, but your drives as well. For each of the drives that were recognized, if you want to use it in a RAID array (which I do), you should add a partition. Technically it's not required to partition before creating the array... but there are a couple small reasons it seems safer that way. I’m writing this at an interesting time. NAS boxes, like the ones offered by Synology, finally caught up with times and offer interesting options to non-enterprise consumers, without charging an arm and a leg for their devices. At the same time component shortages seriously impacted the pricing and availability of Raspberry Pi 4 boards which are expensive and hard to find. In the meantime, we have fully dedicated ourselves to another project and further expanded the P2P network developed for the board. We will now continue to pursue this with full force and extend it with further functionalities to a full open-source alternative for traditional VPN.
