About this deal

Cisco quality Identification (ID) feature enables a Cisco platform to identify whether the module is certified and tested by Cisco Cisco SFP-10G-SR transceivers are input/output devices that are hot-swappable. They are linked with a fiber optic network via a 10 Gigabit Ethernet port. Since these transceivers are MSA compliant and hot-swappable they can be plugged into any Cisco SFP+ based transceiver port directly. You won’t need to power them from the host network system for this. What this does is to make add-ons, moves, and exchanges fast and efficient. Information about Cisco’s environmental sustainability policies and initiatives for our products, solutions, operations, and extended operations or supply chain is provided in the “Environment Sustainability” section of Cisco’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Report.

Apart from the Cisco SFP-10G-LRM module there is another type of module for multimode fibers, called as the SFP-10G-LRM2. This module refers to a type of SFP+ transceiver that are fully compatible with the 10GBASE-LRM standard and have a reach of about 2km over a standard multimode fiber. The Cisco GLC-BX40-D-I, GLC-BX40-DA-I, and GLC-BX40-U-I SFPs operate on a single strand of standard SMF. The Cisco 10GBASE-SR module supports a link length of 26 meters on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)-grade Multimode Fiber (MMF). Using 2000 MHz *km MMF (OM3), up to 300-meter link lengths are possible. Using 4700 MHz *km MMF (OM4), up to 400 meter link lengths are possible. SFP-10G-SR-S does not support FCoE. So you have bought an expensive Cisco original brand switch. Now you are considering buying compatible optics for the same. But, do you really need to buy Cisco original brand modules? The Cisco 10GBASE-ER Industrial Temperature Module supports a link length of up to 40 kilometers on standard Single-Mode Fiber (SMF, G.652). The SFP-10G-ER-I for Industrial Operating Temperature Range is a multirate 10GBASE-ER, 10GBASE-EW and OTU2/2e module.LRM transceivers are often mistaken for 10GBASE-LR SFP+ optics, but it is not the same. 10GBASE-LRM SFP+ makes use of the 1310nm lasers, however, it has a maximum reach of only 220 m over standard multimode fibers such as OM3/OM4. This transceiver is available in the XFP and SFP+ form factors. Experience the next level of network performance with the Switch SFP Part SFP-10G-SR-C. This cutting-edge transceiver module is designed to deliver unprecedented speeds and reliable connectivity. Fully compatible with Cisco part SFP-10G-SR, this SFP module is the ultimate solution for upgrading your network infrastructure. The Cisco 10GBASE-SR Module supports a link length of 26m on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)-grade Multimode Fiber (MMF). Using 2000MHz *km MMF (OM3), up to 300m link lengths are possible. Using 4700MHz *km MMF (OM4), up to 400m link lengths are possible. The Cisco SFP-10G-ZR-I is a multirate 10GBASE-ZR, 10GBASE-ZW, and OTU2/OTU2e module for industrial operating temperature range. The SFP-10G-ZR-I has a limiting electrical interface receiver, which does not require EDC PHY on the host board, it can be plugged into any SFP+ port. It supports link lengths of up to 70 kilometers on standard Single-Mode Fiber (SMF, G.652), assuming a fiber chromatic dispersion of 20ps/(nm *km). This interface is not specified as part of the 10 Gigabit Ethernet standard and is instead built according to Cisco specifications. The SFP-10G-ZR-I has a cold start at -40⁰C; the transceiver will be operational except optical traffic is not supported from -40⁰ to -28⁰C, all other low speed features (DOM, I2C, etc.) are operational. The module is fully operational from -28⁰C to 85⁰C.

Receiver Sensitivity specified over 1530-1565nm only, with 3dB degradation permitted from 1260-1530nm The 1000BASE-BX-D and 1000BASE-BX-U SFPs, compatible with the IEEE 802.3ah 1000BASE-BX10-D and 1000BASE-BX10-U standards, operate on a single strand of standard SMF.

The Cisco 10GBASE-LR Module supports a link length of 10 kilometers on standard Single-Mode Fiber (SMF, G.652).

The Cisco SFP-10G-SR series has 2 other important modules: the Cisco SFP-10G-SR-X Module and the Cisco SFP-10G-SR-S Module. While the Cisco SFP-10G-SR-S module is a part of the Cisco S-class optics it matches the Cisco SFP-10G-SR module in performance. A GLC-BX80-D-I device is always connected to a GLC-BX80-U-I device with a single strand of standard SMF with an operating transmission range up to 80 km. The SFP-10G-BXD-I and SFP-10G-BXU-I SFPs also support Digital Optical Monitoring (DOM) functions according to the industry-standard SFF-8472 Multisource Agreement (MSA). This feature gives the end user the ability to monitor real-time parameters of the SFP, such as optical output power, optical input power, temperature, laser bias current, and transceiver supply voltage. The Cisco 10GBASE-SR module supports a link length of 26 meters on standard Fiber Distributed Data Interface (FDDI)-grade Multimode Fiber (MMF). Using 2000 MHz*km MMF (OM3), up to 300-meter link lengths are possible. Using 4700 MHz*km MMF (OM4), up to 400 meter link lengths are possible. SFP-10G-SR-S does not support FCoE. Note: Parameters are specified over temperature and at end of life unless otherwise noted. When shorter distances of single-mode fiber are used (<40km), an inline optical attenuator must be used to avoid overloading and damaging the receiver. All other products will be delivered via the fastest available method (excluding bank holidays and weekends) and generally within 3-5 days, depending on customer location.
