When you run out of tea, just use the replenish feature and your favourite brand will be delivered to your home. This is more of a digital rather than a smart kettle. I found the kettle connected to the app easily and the app was very intuitive to navigate. I also liked that you could convert from Celcius to Fahrenheit depending on your preference. App Kettle doesn’t mind if you shout at it when you’re ready for your next hot drink, in fact it’s compatible with pretty much every virtual assistant and hub out there, including my favourite – good old Alexa. Other cool stuff this smart kettle does The app also tells you how much water is in the kettle although there is no water meter on the kettle itself which might be frustrating for those times that you don’t want to use the app to boil it. Another who had a bit of trouble connecting their WiFi says “…amazing customer service, completely went out of their way.” Should You Buy it? The Smarter iKettle 3rd Generation is a good kettle. It boils water and allows you to adjust the temperature exactly as you like it. The design is simple and minimalistic, allowing you to control from your phone without any flashy manual dials.
If you love technology and tea equally, then a smart kettle is a great way to smarten up your kitchen. As well as boiling the kettle with your voice, you can add the kettle to routines so that it’s ready to use when you get up in the morning. Temperature control - Precise temperature control is one of the outstanding characteristics of the smart kettle. Unlike a standard electric kettle where you hit the button, the water comes to a boil and the kettle shuts off, with a smart kettle, you can program the exact temperature you want the water to be. Once it reaches that temperature you can then keep it there for varying lengths of time, depending on the kettle. This type of control is great for brewing the perfect cup of tea or making different types of coffee. Herbal teas, white teas and green teas all need different temperatures to bring out the flavors without scorching the leaves. It’s generally easy to use, the double windows are a good idea and the tea temperature settings are super convenient. I love the double sided viewing windows. You can see inside whether you hold the kettle with your right or left hand. What it Does Best The kettle is quiet, too. I never found it distracting and my phone connection never failed me, so it delivered on the convenience I’d expect from a smart kettle. However, while the Bosch Sky kettle is less smart, it is far nicer to use thanks to the tactile base and visual appeal.
