About this deal

Planning a memorial service or funeral service is challenging. While you mourn the loss of a loved one, you are forced to decide cremation or burial, choose who will serve as a pallbearer, and select a menu for the reception following the funeral. You’ll need to think about many details as you suffer from your loved one’s death. A garden is not the same as a farm, but the imagery in this poem may resonate with those living in rural areas. In the text of this poem, God realizes he has a spot in his garden. Thank a Farmer” is a song performed by John Wesley. Even though the entire text may not be appropriate for a funeral, an edited version of it would work. While you may want to leave out the references to “tank top wearin’ country girls,” you should include the stanza, which begins, “I still believe in amber waves of grain. Man on his knees praying for rain that grew this country strong.” 8. “The Farmer’s Creed” by Unknown

The labour market impacts follow a similar pattern. For example, in 2017, of 21.6 million full- and part-time jobs related to the agricultural and food sectors in the United States, direct on-farm employment accounted for only 2.6 million (about 12%). This is broadly in line with the farm share of consumer food expenditures. Meanwhile, the food service industry alone accounted for roughly five times as many jobs 33, 34. Therefore, the food system’s labour market impacts come almost entirely from post-farmgate value chains, although the popular narrative around the impacts of immigration policy on the workforce and so on focuses heavily on farms. The global food dollar series can be extended to include employment data to examine labour market impacts of evolving FVCs.Weather resistance- Manufactured from galvanised steel, this galvanised coating provides an added layer of protection against rust, weathering, and corrosion. This pattern of declining farm share of consumer food expenditures is apparent in the new global food dollar series as well. We pool the constructed fah, ftah and faafh data to estimate multivariate regression models to illustrate how the global food dollar series correlates with key development indicators such as income and agricultural productivity (see Methods for details, Supplementary Table 4 for variables and data sources, Supplementary Table 5 for results and Supplementary Information for estimation code). In the baseline regression specification, every doubling of per capita real income is associated with a reduction in the farm share of domestic consumer food expenditures by an estimated 5.4 percentage points. The negative association between income and the farm share of consumer food expenditures is robust to a variety of controls, for period and/or country fixed effects, time trends and other explanatory variables (see Supplementary Information for details). Second, consumer demand for food, especially for nutrients, is relatively price-inelastic. That is, human physiology constrains variation in consumption such that it cannot be sustained at either zero or uncountably high volumes, no matter the price. As a result, on-farm productivity gains generally drive down farmgate prices. And because consumer demand becomes less price-sensitive as incomes grow, the farmgate price effects of productivity growth increase in magnitude as countries develop, unless they can tap global markets. The ERS food dollar series taps the international System of National Accounts (SNA) and the UN’s related system of environmental-economic accounting 12, which have sparked a long stream of research and policy interventions to promote sustainable economic growth but have not been widely applied to FVCs. The food dollar series has enabled more direct study of the salient FVC features of the US agri-food economy, which are typically obscured in countries’ standard SNA, by facilitating the incorporation of comparable FVC data into broader models intended to guide sustainable development and food policy design and evaluation 10, 13, 14, 15. Scaling and adapting the ERS method globally enables similar direct studies for the global agri-food economy. Farming is the oldest profession, so there is plenty of material from throughout the centuries celebrating farmers and the rural lifestyle. Here are some that may be appropriate for your loved one’s funeral. 11. “So God Made a Farmer” by Paul Harvey

Easy Installation- Our farm gates are very easy to install, thanks to our user-friendly design. We have farm gate kits which contains posts and all the accessories you would need to build a farm gate. You just need to buy some post mix to secure the posts into the ground. This poem begins, “When God created farm folks, he was surely at his best. He made them something special to help clothe and feed the rest.” This poem also mentions the contributions of the farm wife as being an essential part of the team. 7. “Thank a Farmer” by John Wesley The only downside for us was that it was not possible to walk into the nearby village of Llangurig with its 2 little pubs, cafe and shop. The road after the lane is dangerously narrow without pedestrian walkways or refuges! If you are arranging a farmer’s memorial service, you may want a fitting poem to read at the funeral or to display with photographs of your loved one. Here are some funeral poems for farmers (and cowboy funeral poems ) to consider.
