About this deal

But Ana brought me out of that weird slump. Her writing style is smooth. After a couple of chapters, I was absorbed into the story, liking Ava for her sunshine like personality and intrigued by Alex and his mysterious past. The story is in dual POVs so we get to know both of them. Moving on, I have to say that I didn’t like the whole side plot with Rhys’ father. It reminded me a lot of the sideplot with Ava’s father in the first book (which I also did not like). This sort of thing feels cheesy and cliché in my opinion. Can we stop having these regular guys turn out to be offsprings of important people? I seriously don’t get the obsession with this trope, I think it’s overused. And even if Rhys didn’t do anything about it, I still didn’t like the fact that it was present in the book at all. It reminded me of those barbie movies where the regular maid finds out that she’s the daughter of a king which just fixes everything cause now that she’s noble, she’s finally seen as worthy of marrying the prince that she’s loved all along. Like, what? Just writing this paragraph felt cringey to be honest. Also, I’m not even going to get into the whole Andreas thing to be honest cause it was as unbelievable and ridiculous as the father thing. Why can’t we just have the made family trope in this instance? Why didn’t the author expand on Rhys’ relationship with Christian and make them act like real brothers? I honestly think that I would have enjoyed that much more than the whole “I have a secret family” thing. Oh well… I guess to each their own right? and the suspense element was also much better in the first book because there was actually some action. the suspense (can we even call it that?) in this was so badly done compared to the first book. i think i appreciate ava and alex's story more in that aspect because we actually see it unfold and, like i said, there was actually some action. not only that, but right from the beginning, we're thrown into this "suspenseful" act so we go through the book wondering what's happening (even if you know what it was). with this, there was none of it for me. Bridget von Ascheberg is the princess of Elladora, but being the second in line to the throne has given her the freedom to study in America with her friends Ava, Jules and Stella.

BRIDGET ahhh my princess. Without spoiling anything about the changes in Bridget's life apart from the obvious, I must say that I really like this woman. That's not news, I like all Ana Huang women, the men are the problem for me. I liked Bridget more than I did Ava, her chapters were a breath of fresh air. To be completely honest with you, I liked her a lot, but I can't really explain to you why because she didn't have much substance, just like the rest of the character cast. Rhys painted her from a whole different perspective, but I loved her descriptions as much as I did reading from her POV. I wish we got more explanation on her career, I would love to have seen her do something unrelated to her romantic relationship. Also, her relationship with her brother Nikolai wasn't the best, having her trauma bond with him would make this book so much better in my opinion. Overall, Twisted Love is dark, twisted, entertaining and addictive romance full of tropes and drama. Let’s just say I loved every second of this book and if you haven’t read it yet… GET TO IT NOW!!!!! It is worth EVERYTHING!!! Even if you may have disliked the first book, definitely give this one a try!! if you took the time jumps away, the book would've still flowed normally so what was the reason? *cardi b voice* ava chen is just a normal college girl who has a protective brother, josh chen. low and behold, joshy has a ”mysterious, bad boy, rich, smart” best friend, alex volkov. ava has a broken past that, oh no she cant just figure out and would you believe it?? so does alex. trauma haunts both of us and so they both turn to each other to basically seek solitude but then realise that will most likely all. go. to. shit. how lovely right? But when he’s forced to look after his best friend’s sister, he starts to feel something in his chest: Twisted Love is a contemporary brother’s best friend/grumpy sunshine romance. It's book one in the Twisted series but can be read as a standalone. OMG, you will be in romance book trope heaven with the Twisted Love series since there are SO MANY featured in every book. Each book has four or more romance book tropes so if you like variety, this series has it all.

The four books in the twisted series are connected as Ava, Bridget, Jules and Stella are best-friends, making their lives connected. However, each book has it’s own twisted couple and storyline which you can read as a standalone. How Many Books Are There In The Twisted Series? Making. your. characters. 34 (or giving them any adult age idc). and. having. them. participate. in. explicit. sexual. activities. doesn't. convince. me. they're. adults!!! I can't stress this enough. I didn’t respond, because how was I supposed to tell the man determined to save me that I didn’t want to be saved?❞ the red in the flag that is alex volkov is from all my brain cells he has murdered, and the blood of the people he has actually murdered 😍 all the secret glances and soft touches i was expecting? non existent to be honest. i think part of it also has to do with the slow burn i didn't feel. i would have thought they had their first kiss around, at least, 60% or so, with everything before being full of stolen glances, touches, and moments between them.in twisted love you can feel how alex is falling for ava. meanwhile, in twisted games, I literally can't feel the love between bridget and rhys. just say youre a furry and move along jeez. how can he say this and ava not be shitting her pants laughing?? Romance is shown more in beautiful lines but otherwise, it’s all steamy sex scenes. I don’t mind open-door scenes but here they were close to 50 shades and a little cringe for me. That ‘Twisted’ part in title makes sense now. 😂 I hated how much I wanted her, and I hated that she wasn’t smart enough to run away from me while she still had a chance.

But next to being hilarious, I also loved the chemistry between Ava and Alex. It was easy to see that Ava really liked Alex from the start. She always sees the best in people. But Alex’s character was much harder to get to know. And I loved how his tough exterior slowly melted through Ava’s influence. I enjoyed it. It was nothing special and I honestly don’t think it was memorable but it definitely wasn’t what I would consider a bad read. A lot of the issues that I had with this book had to do with me and my personal preferences when it comes to romance which is why I would still recommend this book if the premise sounds interesting to you. If you end up reading it then I hope you enjoy it!Theirs is a love that was never supposed to happen—but when it does, it unleashes secrets that could destroy them both…and everything they hold dear. I gave this 1 star because of jules and stella (& christian) if it weren't for them, I'd give it 0.
