About this deal

This manga had a good start, but it's like how I think of Fetiple again which lowers my liking towards it. First of all, we have both an adult main character and an adult heroine, and to top it off there is no harem. And I mean that seriously, there are a total of zero love rivals or anything like that. Head-Turning Beauty: Though she considers herself an old maid, Ayako is really this. When she reveals the swimsuit she was wearing under her parka to Takkun, the latter tells her to cover it with the parka, as he knows that were she to go around the resort they are in wearing it, she would wind up attracting the attention of every male present.

Childhood Marriage Promise: Subverted. While in kindergarten, Miu made one with Takkun. By the time she is a teenager, having grown up together, she says that she simply cannot see him in a romantic way. When Ayako's sister died, leaving her young daughter all alone, Ayako stepped up and took the child into her life. Now that her niece/adopted daughter is a teenager, a 30-something Ayako can sense first love in the air. Ayako teases her daughter about Takumi, their handsome and college-aged neighbor, who's been tutoring her since she was young--could they be a blossoming couple, since he's always beaming when he comes to their house? To Ayako's surprise, Takumi isn't interested in daughter dearest: he's long had a crush on Ayako herself! In this age gap romantic comedy, one young man is ready to bring a little sugar to the sexy mom next door. Can't Hold Her Liquor: Ayako tries to convince Takkun she can't be with him because she drinks all the time, but he knows she almost never drinks, and thus doesn't know her limits.Sexy Santa Dress: In Chapter 9, Takkun has a fever dream of Ayako wearing one, based on a childhood experience when she accidently bought one instead of a traditional Santa outfit. Combined with the cheesecake and a naked kid, this is a lot of cringe, even as it’s played broadly for laughs. And, no matter how horrified Ayako might be after the fact, it sure happened. Just reverse those genders and see how that same scene would look. It’s such a bad, bad narrative call, but you can tell from the art why it was done this way (cough). Symphonia Green - Ribis no Tsubasa - Daito Fuunki - Infinity Zero - Akuma no Mikata - Allison - Beat's Discipline - A/B Extreme - Valkyria no Kikou - Kyuketsuki no Oshigoto - S.CRY.ed - Postgirl - Dark Violets - Figure 17 Tsubasa & Hikari - Haiiro no Iris - Zugaikotsu no Holy Grail - Last Kiss - Buggy Luggy de Dekakeyou! - Kaiyou Joujishi Merveille - Sister Princess - Shakugan no Shana - Moufu Obake to Kinyoubi no Kaidan - Euphorion

I don't mind the age gap. There are many great stories with the age gap trope. I did like how Ayako was trying to deter Takumi and how they bonded over anime. Her reactions are logical and felt realistic for the situation. I do hope there are more mother/daughter moments between Miu and Ayako, and more development between Takumi and his friend. Those scenes were great additions and hopefully they'll be expanded on. Love Confession: Takkun does this in the first chapter, revealing his crush on Ayako, much to her surprise, setting off the series It’s just… really awkward about how it tells the story. At times cute, but at a lot of other times very cringe. There’s enough good, on balance, but there’s some stuff here that barely gets a pass from me. And while the drama can sometimes be a bit hard to swallow, it still is leagues above 99% of all other novels and easier to believe.Caught the Heart on His Sleeve: When Takkun says he'll try to stop liking Ayako, she grabs his sleeve and tearfully begs him not to. Fairy's Whisper - Photogenic: Ameagari no Shoujo-tachi - Boogiepop - Nekomegari - Boku no Chi wo Suwanaide - Tales of Series - Gakuen Mystery Ei File - E.G. Combat - Shin Taima Senki Taima-kun Akagami Kyouya - Ma Roou Retsupuden Gaiden - Himegami Mokushi Necronome - HAUNTED Junction - Gundress - Gojin Senki The manga version of this story carefully follows the LN with, in my opinion, very faithful artwork as well. It tells the tale of Ayako Katsuragi, a capable single mom of an adopted child Miu, as Ayako struggles to come to terms with the fact that her neighbor, a boy she knew 10 years ago when he was only 10 and she 20, has feelings for her. Hartman Hips: Has quite a endowed butt to go with her colossal chest. Give her a smaller waist and she would have an Impossible Hour Glass Figure.

Age is a funny thing. We've all read manga that equates being over thirty with being middle-aged, and that really drives home the idea that along with being a simple set of numbers that delineates how long you've been alive, age is also very much a social construct and just what that construct is depends on the culture in question. Plenty of manga dance around this idea, either playing it for laughs or titillation and in the case of age-gap shoujo manga, it's often a sign that the heroine is perhaps more mature than her peer group. In the case of You Like Me, Not My Daughter?!, pretty much all of these things are true in one way or another. Very interesting story, there are comic relief elements, standard teens smarter than grownups situations (like I said, standard romantic TV movie :)) and lots of sexual tension with touch of erotica. You Like Me, Not My Daughter?! is about 30 something-year-old Ayako. After her sister and brother-in-law pass, Ayako (who was in her twenties at the time) decides to take care of her five year old niece Miu when no one else would. Ten years later Ayako and Miu are living next door to twenty year old Takumi, a childhood friend of Miu, who helps Miu with her school work etc. On Takumi's birthday Ayako finds out that her suspicions of Takumi and Miu liking each other are wrong: Takumi is in love with Ayako and has been for years. Breaking the Fourth Wall: In a scene early in the manga, Miu wants to have some wine, which Ayako vehemently objects to...since you can't show underage characters drinking in manga. LOS ANGELES, January 12, 2022) – Seven Seas Entertainment is pleased to announce the license acquisition of the manga series You Like Me, Not My Daughter?! by Kota Nozomi, Tesshin Azuma, and Giuniu. A beautiful mother, a pining tutor, and romantic hijinks await in this hot mom romcom! The final few volumes introduce a love triangle that adds some much needed drama to the work. While i wont spoil it here, what starts out feeling forced or shoehorned in and out of character eventually culminates into one of the most satisfying “confession” chapters i’ve read in quite some time, which retroactively reveals all of the players here were actually following their hearts and true to their characterizations. Its quite cathartic, and elevates the entire work from the genericness it had been suffering from.
