About this deal

Annabeth and percy are rag dolls when the hero presenting BOB THE GREAT they need him or they will die in taturus With a true storyteller's sense of pacing, Riordan creates another compelling adventure, right down to the cliff-hanger at the end. Stay tuned for volume four.-- Booklist When I started reading the first book, I was thrown off by the fact that it wasn't about Percy. It felt a little weird to be following around a random guy named Jason and have no clue what's going on with the hero you've spent the last five books building a relationship with. But that was exactly the point, and it worked out great. I liked the emotions and that confusion came through so well, the fact that no one really knew what was going on; it made it feel like we were on this journey together. I think the ending of this book, which is the big "something changes everything" idea that I referred to earlier was PERFECT. It made so much sense and really brought the whole Greek mythology foundation of this series to another level. It really opened things up to different possibilities. I won't say what it is because the moment you realize what's happening is pretty great. Just trust me lol. Never use the cliches, "his blood turned to liquid fire." Or "The blood in his veins turned to ice." If it's about blood or veins and temperature, it's a cliche. Titles in the Set; The Lost Hero, The Son of Neptune, The Mark of Athena, The House of Hades, The Blood of Olympus.

Broad terms rely on the readers imagination to do all the work. Don't say, "a gaggle of girls walked by." Describe one or two characters instead. Sometimes bad guys show up and cause action scenes that work well enough as action paragraphs. There's rarely a mystery or goal that progresses meaningfully between one event and another. The Ending- If you have read The Blood of Olympus, you would know. It is not my favorite but whatever.

Jason Grace- How do I say this without getting everyone to hate me? I honestly don't really like Jason. I mean I guess he's a cool dude and all, but he kind of got on my nerves sometimes. Cutesy words like, "abuzz" or "aflutter." "A gaggle of fairies flew by, abuzz with excitement." DELETE. Meanwhile, Hazel and the crew of the Argo II have a choice: to stop a war or save their friends. Whichever road they take one thing is certain - in the Underworld, evil is inescapable. The Plot-If you think about it, it's basically a bunch of teenagers trying to make sure that their great grandmother doesn't wake up. But I love the plot. If there's a ridiculous, random, goofy floating table, don't force us to conclude it's random and ridiculous. Don't keep harping on how, "and if you think that sentence is normal, you should read it again. Just another day in my insane life!" Just tell us there's a floating table.

The things that the story is about don't have to be the most intense version of it in the story. A relationship doesn't have to be described or portrayed as perfect. Anger doesn't have to be a searing hot, burning intensity that was definitely the deepest anger anyone in the universe ever felt. THERE WILL BE SPOILERS IN THIS REVIEW. DO NOT READ BEYOND THIS POINT IF YOU ARE GONNA WHINE ABOUT SPOILERS!!**** Why do characters always roll their eyes at each other and get flustered with each other so easily? Today I'm mutilating it on Google Docs (and other YA books I suffered through in highschool) to see if I can put my money where my mouth is, and improve them. Here's what I've learned: She looked up at the Argo II. Its massive bronze hull glittered in the sunlight.Part of her wanted to kidnap Percy right now, get on board and get out of here while they still could. She couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to go terribly wrong. She couldn't risk losing Percy again.
