In 2008, Citizen bought the Bulova Watch Company, becoming the parent for this world-famous American brand. The two have a lot in common when both emphasize super accurate watches.

The watch uses a Japanese Miyota quartz movement which is accurate and reliable. Other features of the watch include its 100m water resistance, date display, and chronograph functions. This physical outlook goes a long way in creating a strong fashion statement for both casual and official outfits. The movement holder shown in figure 5 is now lifted off. It is shown in figure 9 next to the movement.This is the kind of watch that you could wear to impress a date, a boss, or anybody in between. Bulova is a big-time brand name in the world of wrist watches and they never fail to deliver high-quality products, as evidence by this Bulova Men's 64C104 Gemini Watch. The hour wheel is held in place by the hour wheel spring (176-109). Remove the 2 retaining screws and then lift off the spring. The spring is shown prior to removal in figure 15.

Figure 34 shows the current state of the dial side of the movement. To get started I remove the minute train cover (079-890). Figure 35 shows this component after removal. Last up we have another great watch from the popular Marine Star collection. Another one of the best Bulova watches available, the 98B203 has this larger 43mm design with some great detailing with the coin edged bezel. As it typical of the Marine Star series, the watch has a 100m water resistance rating. As for the movement, you guessed it, another Japanese Miyota. So is Bulova a good watch brand? The Marine Star collection are definitely a fine example of their craftsmanship.Figure 5 shows the movement after removing the oscillating weight. The plastic movement holder (500-710) is also visible. This will be removed after dealing with the hands and dial. I also removed the winding stem (figure 6) by pressing in on the setting lever and gently pulling the stem. The location for pressing on the setting lever was clipped from the pic, but it’s a standard setup. The ridged circular brown ring that surrounds the inner dial gives a two-tone appearance, but next to all the steel it is more or less invisible. As a result, the open heart display seems very awkward. It doesn’t necessarily look bad, but it’s hardly at the top of the list for looks, either. Next, I remove the ratchet wheel (059-560) and the barrel complete (001-870), which sits directly underneath the ratchet wheel. Th.ese components are shown in figures 23 and 24.
