Happy Birthday To You' is one of the most frequently sung songs of all time, listed by the Guinness Book of World Records as one of the three most-sung songs in the English language (along with ' Auld Lang Syne' and ' For He's A Jolly Good Fellow'), and has become part of almost every birthday celebration - it has even been sung in space. Nobody knows how many languages it has been translated into - except to say it is an awful lot. Ever struggled with what to give someone for a birthday present? Well struggle no more. Having just received some of the best and most inspired birthday presents ever I thought I’d share a few ideas. There's also a traditional Spanish version with it's own melody. If some has a link to a midi, I wouldn't mind at all. It's been over a decade since I heard it. Mohan, Isabel (December 29, 2012). "The Richest Songs in the World, BBC Four, Review". The Telegraph. London . Retrieved September 23, 2015.

An instant success, the song soon spread beyond the confines of the school. Its very simplicity and directness appealed to people of all ages. Romeo, Dave (2009). Get someone from the Netherlands to sing you the traditional Dutch birthday song. It's a gas, and would lend itself very well to the sort of harmony singing you get in the traditional clubs or the Christmas carol sings in Yorkshire. a b c Good Morning to You Productions v. I followed the stereotype of an animal-obsessed girl, including a line in pets (I'm not very good at keeping hamsters or goldfish alive, don't ask me to pet-sit), horse-riding lessons (I became a master in falling off - in fact so much so they used me to help break-in the newly broken-in horses to riding in a school!), membership to the RSPCA and a large Sylvanian Family collection. Well Kit's not been to a proper zoo yet, and London has one, so to celebrate my turn of the decades wedragged Nanny and Grandadthere!

When my husband turned forty, I wrote a real beauty. I believe it w2as a round with a bass ground. it was for the church choir to sing, and they did it up brown. Here's a song from the music-hall era, sung by a woman who was a famous male impersonator of her day. There's an article about her here (in addition to Wikipedia).

I heard "Happy Crappy Birthday," sung to me and Alan MacColl at song circle today (Sunday) to celebrate our August birthdays on dates that will not be revealed. I went looking for the song when I got home, and found Amos had posted a link to a YouTube video in an Art Thieme birthday thread in July. The singer in the link from Amos is Sharon Carl, who sang the song for Alan and me today.

About Me

One of the most famous performances of "Happy Birthday to You" was Marilyn Monroe's rendition to U.S. President John F. Kennedy in May 1962. Another notable use was by comedy pianist Victor Borge, who played the song in styles of various composers, [57] or would begin playing Moonlight Sonata, smoothly transitioning into the song. [58] About 50 years ago we saw a movie with Farley Granger playing a spoilt rich boy/criminal who was being transported across country and he convinced his guards to stop off at his mother's house (mansion really) so he could sing a special birthday song to her. It was a ploy to try to escape (and I don't remember if it worked) but she was having a big party and Farley Granger did sing to her and the song has stayed in our memory banks ever since. It's sung to Twinkle twinkle with a slight modification at the end:
