I’ve had a mixed history with my teeth. I was terrified of the dentist growing up, so of course, I was blessed with multiple cavities and two extractions before I turned 13. It’s more along the lines of an herbal-like medicinal smell. How long your teeth stay white depends on lifestyle and diet habits. For example, if you drink a lot of coffee, the results won’t last as long. You’ll need to whiten more consistently.
Unknown bleaching concentration. The efficacy of whitening gels are highly reliant on the concentration. Most professional in-office products have upwards of 30-40% concentration while OTC ones are in the single digits. There is no concentration listed for the Hismile whitening pen! When it came to sensitivity, I can’t say that I didn’t experience any. For the first 2 days, my teeth were a little sensitive, but nothing that interfered with eating. After that, I didn’t experience sensitivity from my sessions. Those touch-up sessions, however, do leave me a tiny bit sensitive for a few hours. Why did I do it?Innovative. It’s innovative because they managed to create a product that can bleach your teeth without the use of peroxides and free radicals. Firstly, I love the kit. It's neat, straightforward and compact. Inside the box I found the LED light (a gum shield-esque device attached to an LED light) and the whitening gel. In the product's description, the makers say they've worked closely with dentists, to ‘redefine the at-home teeth whitening experience’. This product has something called a ‘VIO405 light’ that is paired with 32 individual LEDs with an optimised wavelength. When combined with the brand's PAP+ formula, VIO405 apparently provides you with the whitest and brightest at-home whitening results.
The results: The closer you'll get to an A-list worthy smile without paying the price of a professional Hollywood whitening treatment at the dentist's office. The treatment is done overnight for about a week or two, and may cause sensitivity. Bonus points for the long-lasting results (we're talking years people, years!). Their social media celebrity-driven campaign has really put this Australian company on the map in a big way and the company’s success in such a short time span is a testament to that. The Hismile VIO405™ Teeth Whitening Kit is very easy to use compared to similar products on the market. The process requires 10 minutes a day (versus up to 30 minutes for other brands). After brushing on the whitening gel, it didn’t really leave much of a residue on my teeth, which was quite different from my experience with the colgate whitening pen.
