About this deal

Sometimes you may hear people refer to Australia as Oceania. Oceania is actually the region made up of thousands of islands which reside in the South and Central Pacific Oceans. Australia is included, it has the littlest total land area when compared with other continents. Much of Oceania and Australia is beneath the Pacific Ocean. So, this is where Oceana gets its name from because this is a defining feature of the continent. Some of our loveliest indigenous trees include the ‘breadfruit, eucalyptus, and banyan’. You can’t quite see them on this printable map of Australian territories, however it’s nice to give them some loving appreciation. Regardless of where we are, there will be emergency services available should we ever need their help, so our People Who Help Us 3D Building Printable activity will have them developing their fine motor skills as they create 3D buildings which they can take home.

Geography isn’t the only subject you can cover with this map, there’s an opportunity to learn about the English language too. The map includes the names of states, territories and important places across Australia. You can use this to introduce new vocabulary and spellings. It’s also a nice way to show children the rules of capitalisation. Maybe they don't want to stop with just colouring it in. Perhaps your students would like to use glue and glitter to really make it pop. No matter what they choose to do, this activity is guaranteed to bring loads of fun. This map can be used to encourage children’s spatial reasoning skills and knowledge of Australia. Ask them geography questions that can promote their practise of map reading. You may ask kids to mark out places they’ve been and locate where they are. This map is also a fantastic tool for developing your child’s interpretation skills. The countryside's often an area that has a lot of greenery, and isn't over-populated. It will have farmland and rural districts. There may be a few businesses and shops, locally, so that the basic needs of those that live in the countryside are met. Not only will your class get to learn about cities, they'll also be able to develop their colouring and fine motor skills, which is handy for other things, such as doing up their coat buttons or tying up their laces. Using colouring sheets is an exciting way to introduce children to a topic and will engage visual learners in a fun way.

Colour By Numbers - Hone your children's maths, fine motor and listening skills with this fabulous collection.

How can i use this activity with my child?

The thing we’re most famous for in Australia and Oceania alike, are marsupials… koalas, kangaroos and wallabies. You might find this Australian Animals Footprints Display Poster a lovely addition to a wall for an ‘All About Australia’ theme.

You may think that this colouring sheet looks plain and boring, but that's an excellent place to start with anything creative. Think of it as a blank canvas that will encourage your children to bring to life. Not to be confused with Map coloring (mathematics). Topographic map of Easter Island using colors to show elevations. With the growth in technology and social media meaning we are all available 24/7 and spending increasing hours of the day looking at screens, some time out spent colouring in can be hugely beneficial. There does seem to be some science behind the trend with numerous psychologists admitting that when it comes to relaxation, colouring has surprisingly scientific results.
