About this deal

The extra cleaning mode available on the 2000 will mean for some it cleans better as the slower movements will better suit those with tender teeth and gums that cannot handle the more powerful Daily Clean mode. It features Ultra-thin bristles, 16-degree bristle angle, and unique polishing cups to give you shiny teeth. They are designed to perfectly fit any standard Oral B toothbrush. It has a pressure controller to protect your gums while brushing. On the rear of the Pro 2 2000 brush handle, just below where the brush head attaches, is a red plastic panel. This is the visible pressure sensor. More details on this shortly, but know that the 1000 does not have it. Applying too much pressure is harmful to your oral hygiene. But with the pressure sensor alert, you need not worry about it.

It should be noted, that the brush heads supplied with either the Pro 2 2500 or 3 3000 can differ. Typically they are either CrossAction or 3D White with both models. That said, there are a few exceptions. Even if you do need 2 brush handles, the 2500 can be a more attractive option, because if you buy 2 of the 2500 models you will get 2 charging stands and 2 travel cases compared to only a single charging stand with the 2900. Aside from the colour of the brush the physical size and shape are identical and you would not be able to tell the two apart unless you noticed the additional cleaning mode icon found on the 9000. With either you have to power the brush on to change mode, but the Genius will remember the cleaning mode and start on this next time it is powered on, the 5000 does not. Many people do not brush for the right amount of time, nor use the correct brushing technique. In most cases, this is because they have never been shown. Perfecting these will have far greater improvement than the speed of the brush head.

1) Features: Oral-B Pro 2000 vs 3000 vs 2500

High street and online retailer Boots, have a different variant of the Pro 2 2500. Instead of a travel case, a tube of Oral-B’s Pro-Expert toothpaste is included and the brush handle grip colour is Blue. I consider the travel case more desirable than the tube of toothpaste. The reality is, you could use any mode on the brush to clean your tongue just ending the clean sooner. Although the speed and number of oscillations will be different. The Smart 6 comes with1 x CrossAction, 1 x Pro White/3D White and 1 x Sensitive brush head, but the Genius 9000 comes with one additional brush head, that is the FlossAction head. The Oral-B Pro 2000, 3000 and 2500 all use the 3D oscillating rotating mechanism of action at 40,000 pulsations and 8,800 oscillations per minute. They will therefore clean your teeth with the same power on the daily clean mode. The Oral-B Pro 3000 trumps the others by being able to adjust the pulsations and oscillations with a sensitive cleaning mode. If you do not have sensitive teeth, this function will be irrelevant for you. As the Oral-B Pro 2 2500 is a cheaper electric toothbrush, you would expect it to come with fewer features. It is actually surprising how many features Oral-B have fit into this basic electric toothbrush. Styling

Brushing your teeth with too much force can, over time, wear away at your tooth enamel, leaving you susceptible to sensitive teeth or tooth decay. A handy feature of the Pro 2500 is the visible pressure sensor that flashes if you happen to apply too much force when brushing. The red flashing light is clearly visible but you can also test it out yourself, just by applying some pressure to the brush head with your finger to see the light flash on. Cleaning Performance. Now what dentists including myself, always say is you can clean properly using any toothbrush, manual or electric, high or low cleaning power. Because the heads are interchangeable, if you have a preferred style, it can be fitted to the handle, even if it does not come in the box. The next big difference is the battery life. The Pro 2 2000 has over twice the usage time. The Pro 600 will operate for 28 minutes, which is 7 days of cleaning based on one user. However the Pro 2 will last for 66 minutes which is 16 days of usage time.It also reminds you when to give a pause to your brushing session. Power lasts for 2 weeks after charging for a single time. So, you need not worry about charging it always. As you may already know, as a general rule, electric toothbrushes from Oral-B actually sell for far less than their retail price.

Now the brush heads are interchangeable and can be used on any cleaning mode. However, some brush heads are better suited to certain modes and it would have made more sense in our opinion to have included the Sensitive head given that one of the selling points of the 3000 is that cleaning mode. Select models do come with it. Smart 5 5000 vs Genius 9000Both offer a 3D cleaning action via the small round brush head, but the Pro 1000 only offers 8,800 oscillations and 20,000 pulsations per minute, compared to the 9,900 and 45,000 of the Pro 2 2000. Whilst the difference exist the impact on your brushing and cleaning results are limited. Whilst it may provide some benefit, particularly if used with a 3D White brush head, the differences are going to be extremely subtle, if not impossible to notice.
