She gets a job working at a high end, a private club known as Michi Beach Club and meets a wealthy man named Travis who may help her. Bette is desperate to get a solo in Ramon's new ballet and tries to seduce him. The ballet students discover that June had a stash of roofies and dosed Cassie the night she fell.

T.M.E. Walsh has a way with words and helping to visualize a scene. Something's I maybe didn’t want to visualize though. YIKES. I liked the story a lot. It starts out fantastic and even though I am not a mom, I can certainly relate to Charlotte. You feel her despair and her desperation. I couldn’t imagine a serial killer being loose in my town. She is desperate to keep her daughter safe and along the way she does lose it a little but what loving mom wouldn’t? What mom doesn’t want to keep her daughter safe? We believe style should be accessible to all, whatever your budget, as we deliver product inspired from the catwalk and the coolest muses of the moment. Our girl knows she can trust in us for everything she needs from the latest trend-led pieces to celebrity inspired looks, to the everyday wardrobe staples and that ultimate party piece. I felt sorry for Charlotte several times as her life recently hadn't exactly been plain sailing. To be honest, her life had actually been wobbling on the edge - she nearly lost everything and the aftermath was still causing her multiple problems in her every day life, as well as her relationships with her husband and daughter. It must have been tough for Charlotte, that's for sure!

Meanwhile, her relationship with Oren develops. June is threatened by the predator at the club. She also discovers exactly who sabotaged her solo. The dancers come together to say goodbye to Cassie, but her fight isn't over yet. Bette starts to piece together her memories of the night Cassie fell. Walsh writes a compelling piece of crime with fascinating characters, and the plotting is done with an almost criminal air of nonchalance. With a kind of cheeky disregard for what the reader might have been expecting, which is incredibly clever from a plot perspective.

Meanwhile, June realizes the lucrative work at the club comes with strings attached and suffers the consequence of refusing to go along with the powerful men there. Critical reaction to the series has been mixed. Official announcement has been made that it will not be continued. When thirteen year old Lainey disappears it's not just a job for Bobby Dees and the Crimes Against Children Squad. For Bobby each of these crimes is personal because he knows exactly what these families are going through. He himself has a missing daughter and lives life in a hell on earth limbo, not knowing if she is dead or alive.
