About this deal

So the main protagonist decides to confess his love to his classmate, Yumi. She rejected him, because she wants to go to South Korea to become a police officer. As he heard her dream, he decides to go after her, and with some incidents he happened to become a leader of a gang. A special little addition i feel that should be mentioned is Boichi's inclusion of how hard he has worked on the manga. He talks about his travels to take lots of different pictures to use as references. I feel that it is a great touch as it gives us, the readers, insight as to how a mangaka goes about working on their art. It's a real treat to see the pictures he takes and comparing them to what he draws. A wonderful aspect of the manga that most certainly should not be over looked. personality. Every single female characters! There is no exception! This genre is spoils their personality and the only interesting thing about them is their breast, and sometimes they give blowjob to our mc. But let me tell you the basic setting of the story. being very charismatic. But unfortunately the female characters do not have that same affection on the part of the author, only to be raped or to make scenes of fanservice having little depth, but at least Yumi having a good prominence in the end. If this series was a hentai I wouldn't have bothered with this review, but the fact that it tries not to be is what makes it so bad.

Criminal Doppelgänger: Rain is compared to Ken In the final battle between them, he uses this as part of his Breaking Speech in Yumin fell in love with him. Indeed, Ken looks like him when he has his hair down, or has a beard. In between Ken's rise, he and Yumin got closer and Yumin started to have feelings for Ken. However, things were always complicated by the interference of either Ken's gang activities and/or Yumin's yakuza connections. The turning point in the story is when Yumin is kidnapped by her own group and Ken is exposed as a gang leader in his attempts to rescue her from his greatest rival, Kim Ban Phuong (a Vietnamese-Korean that has a vicious score to settle with Ken). Probably one of the most funny manga ive ever read, the humor is over the top and exaggerated. Very similar to Bokusatsu Tenshi Dokuro Chan. I think ima read the beginning volumes just to get a good laugh after finishing writing this lmao Protagonist Journey To Anti-Villain: Initially, Ken is okay with having a small gang that can pass as posers thinking way too big. As time goes on, Ken's influence actually creates a parallel state, he becomes a criminal big shot by owning corrupt Casinos, idol agencies and real estate companies. That's the point where where Ken starts doubting himself, being noticeably careless about rivals trying to destroy or seize his empire, as he thinks it could be for the best.

The art is exceptional! Easily, one of the most beautiful covers I've ever read is at the level of Takehiko Inoue and Sakamoto Shinichi. In fact, she shines in great fights very well choreographed and exciting, having several incredible fights.

Beauty Equals Goodness: Played straight with the corrupt and cruel politicians and gangsters. Interestingly, characters also become uglier when their personalities get nasty. This sounds interesting isn't it? What can go wrong? Well, the story and the action part of this manga is pretty good. There are a lot of beatiful panels, and the story leading is also good. It can be always exciting. Almost the best thing in this manga is this is a seinen. The problem is the manga is trying to be very cool, and this has an impact of the action scenes, and some other more. The characters suddenly changes personality, and having unpredictable nature wich would be okay, if this would be once or twice in the whole series even without any racional explanation, but the writer do this every time. This is usually because the gang is just a status symbol. We just see how they raid buildings and after that we can read informations about the band's status, but we never see them. I didn't get what I expect to get. I thought this was gonna be an empire builder-like manga just like the overlord, but as I wrote before, the band is just a cover name for making a protagonist to symbolize a king of the underworld, whose to face you can only kneeling before him. Not gonna lie, these looks pretty awesome, but apart from that, this has no other function. It's like the One Piece crew, but the leader has more prestige...

Informed Attractiveness: When we first see Kae-Lyn, she looks like a gyaru, and despite her body, her makeup make her a case of Butter Face, when she is only tanned she actually looks very cute. Ken's a japanese delinquent. The kind that looks all rough and badass and gets into fights... but is actually real soft and squishy on the inside. Watch as he gets dragged into becoming a gang leader, saves prostitutes, beats up baddies, inspires some to join him, take over casinos, ya know... the USUAL gang related stuff. It all escalates at a steady pace (except for a few chapters when things slow down... a lot...) and it remains entertaining through out. I already described Ken with enough detail to cover everything but not spoil anything. His buddies are all pretty much introduced from the first volume and as the story continues, everyone but Ken actually undergo some pretty serious character development. What about Ken you ask? Well he does indeed undergo a good chunk of character development but you see, his character is already defined from the get-go. He acts as the foundation upon which the others grow and mature. To be honest, having the main protagonist undergo the "least" actual character development (as in their personality, etc etc and not their position in society) was a ballsy move that really paid off. We get this wonderful balance between the cast of characters. No single individual within this fictional world overshadows another so greatly that their existence (for as long as they are relevant and play a major role in the story) becomes this tertiary obstacle that simply gets stepped on and ignored. Oh and this manga has one of my top 5 favorite female characters sooo... i am kinda biased here :D Rated M for Manly: His work employs a heavy feel of masculinity, with many characters having well detailed muscles, and pretty attractive characters. His intensity is on par with some 80's manga, like Fist of the North Star and the early parts of Jojos Bizarre Adventure. Ambition Is Evil: Many of the characters we see have ambitions beyond just being cruel sadists, but in striving for their goals of wealth and power, they often become just that, IF they already weren't like that to being with.Art Shift: The comedy sections almost seem like they come from a different manga when compared to the rest of the manga. Read it because - The art is great, it has interesting facts about South Korea and its culture/history, lots of fights, a funny Italian character and Ken's eyebrows. One day, after helping out an old store owner getting extorted from a local gang, Ken is then made the boss of a small gang by a man named Tae-Soo. Ken now finds himself fighting local gang bosses, protecting the ones he cares for and making sure Yumin never finds out, otherwise he'll lose the girl he loves and get arrested. BAD BITS: It takes a while for the story and the tone to get set in stone but at around the 40 chapter mark everything feels more consistent and just better in general. At first I didn't like this, but there is a reason for it that you don't even realise until you're halfway through the story. Until that point though, the story can be a bit hit or miss and the tone can be quite inconsistent. My biggest problem however is the ecchi. I understand that Boichi drew hentai and I went in expecting some, but every 10 or 20 chapters Boichi will just feel horny and draw ecchi for a couple chapters. It feels earned maybe twice, but for the most part it can kill any enthusiasm with the current plot. Protagonist starts out at ground zero in a foreign country and gradually builds his way to the top. You know that feeling when you're playing pokemon and you level up or evolve a pokemon? That's the feeling I get when I finish reading each volume because after each arc they just keep adding onto the gang empire as a whole, getting 1 step closer to their ultimate goal.

Art Evolution: The art in the beginning volumes was pretty good to start with, but became incredibly polished as time went on. The outset of the story isn't that bad. It's simple and could have acted a solid foundation for a pretty exciting story. It fails miserably when it comes to execution though, and because of the non-existent depth in character portrayal the story falls completely flat. Good All Along: Ban-Phoung had always admired Ken and was trying to protect him from the White Dragon Clan. The story is kind of complicated to analyze. On the one hand, there are several moments focused on the fanservice that kind of break the immersion of the serious story that the author wants to pass, even with an arc focused on it. On the other hand, history has good arcs that argue and deepen its antagonists instead of just being bad, but as a result of a cycle of violence for Korean war crimes or for the corruption of its system. In addition, of course, to having some very interesting reflections on the state, “The state is just a gang that is legalized”. tldr: It can be really over the top with everything, mostly for the better except for the ecchi which (for me) is really uncomfortable with few exception. a magnet, he has an almost supernatural aura of main character righteousness that he seemingly indoctrinates people into good morale by beating the shit out of them. Rather than this being deus ex however, its a plot device that is observed by other characters in the story. It also doesn't hurt that Ken is an extremely likeable character. He does not always win, and he does not always lose, he is not arrogant, but he respects himself and his gang and will beat the shit out of other gangs that challenge its pride of the street. As time goes on and his gang becomes more and more of an influence in Korea, Ken's character starts to change rather drastically as well. It's cool to read is the bottom line here. Manga is a Japanese manga series illustrated and written by Boichi. A year after, Ken found that Yumin had actually became an officer in Korea. Yearning to view the girl he loved, Ken dropped out of high school become an officer just like Yumin and so that you can go to Korea. Though Ken was able to go to Korea, he found himself unable to become an officer and instead became a poor Shut in with occupation or no cash. From being mistreated with a bunch gang members after helping an old man, he was scouted by the head of a nearby gang headed by Tae-Soo Park who made him the manager that was new
