About this deal

Bought the fragrance in the souk at a more than fair price from AquaFrisch (Merci), which maintains a decent and almost generous sale and offers its items (unlike many others) not more expensive but (oh God) no cheaper, than in online retail feil offers (applause)..... Longevity and strength is great, though I'd argue it isn't as much of a monster as others might say. You should be able to pull of 3-4 sprays easy. Per it's era, Bijan for Men has a loud opening where the bergamot, lavender, and rosemary jump out. Thereafter it settles in where the patchouli, nutmeg, vetiver and sandalwood blend well with the base of musk, amber and vanilla to create this 'golden glow' that leans towards 'classic' rather than 'dated'. To be clear most people would smell this and guess "1980s". I don't think this is a warm weather scent, but it does speak well for itself as a quality formal scent, although likely better for a more mature person. It isn't a monster but it definitely is representative of it's era in regards to strength and longevity so be mindful. It is not 'youthful' smelling at all. MONICA: Hi, who's this? Hi, Joanne. Is Rachel working? It's Monica. Yes, I know I did a horrible thing. Joanna, it's not as simple as all that, okay? No, I don't care what Steve thinks. Hi, Steve. How does "Bijan Men" smell now? Typically for the time, the fragrance notes are so densely and compactly interwoven that it is difficult to identify individual components. From the beginning, the soapy oak moss is very present, joined by the spiciness of rosemary and nutmeg, sandalwood also plays not exactly restrained. A touch of lavender. Musk and patchouli? Yep, but rather in the base and restrained.

Is Bijan dated? In 2023, I'd say not really. Not when we have lots of risks being taken and super obscure niche fragrances and heavy-hitting Tom Fords being the poster children of fine taste. Age-wise, I would say 25 and up. Occasion? Everything but super casual t-shirt wearing, and strictly during fall/winter, though this could work in formal occasions during mild spring or summer nights. JOEY: Yeah, I'm ready. (Store Guy opens the door, Customer arrives, Joey can't get his bottle to spray, Todd accidentally sprays Customer in the eye) MONICA: Me? What are you talking about? Nobody could steal me from you. I mean, just because I'm friends with her doesn't make me any less friends with you. I mean, you're my...We're, we're...Oh, I love you. CHANDLER: What do you care? You're an actor. This is your day job. This isn't supposed to mean anything to you.

Crown the Car of the Year

PHOEBE: You guys, um I know that this really doesn't have anything to do with me, but um I love you guys too. Oh, I really needed that.

a b c Jennifer Steinhauer, Elusive and Exclusive Clothier to the Rich, Nytimes.com, 29 December 1998 Bijan Pakzad ( / b i ˌ ʒ æ n ˈ p ɑː k z ɑː d/; Persian: بیژن پاکزاد, pronounced [biːʒæn pɑːkzɑːd]), generally known mononymously as Bijan (4 April 1940 – 16 April 2011), was an Iranian designer of menswear and fragrances.

RACHEL: Um, okay, uh, oh God, um, when you and uh Ross first started going out, it was really hard for me, um, for many reasons, which I'm not gonna bore you with now, but um, I just, I see how happy he is, you know, and how good you guys are together, and um, Monica's always saying how nice you are, and god I hate it when she's right. Bijan was born in Tehran, Iran in either 1940 [1] [2] [3] or 1944. [4] He was the son of a wealthy businessman. He attended Institut Le Rosey, [5] and studied design in Switzerland and Italy. [3] Bijan's career began in Iran with the Pink Panther Boutique in Tehran. In 2000, Bijan generated controversy when he published advertisements featuring a nude "rotund model named Bella", [11] which were rejected by many New York magazines before being accepted by Tina Brown's Talk. [12] He said the ads were an homage to painters Peter Paul Rubens, Henri Matisse, and Fernando Botero, whose art has featured full-figured women, and said "I embrace the beauty of all women". [11] Once they were published in Talk, the ads were accepted by several of the publications that had previously rejected them. [11] ROSS: Carol, we've been through this before, okay? We have a good time. We laugh, we play. It's like we're father and son.

RACHEL: So. I just thought the two of us should hang out for a bit. I mean, you know, we've never really talked. I guess you'd know that, being one of the two of us, though, right? With the quarantine and the opening of a new store happening at the same time, I’m sure you’ve had time to think. What do you see for the future of Bijan? The new boutique’s decor is stunning, from the opulent chandelier that greets you (comprised of around 1,000 bottles of Bijan’s signature perfume—the tire-shaped flacon is so iconic, it’s part of the Smithsonian’s permanent collection) to the tables overflowing with framed photographs of famous clients (Hi, Jeff Bezos!) to the immense Botero painting (titled—what else?— The Rich) hanging in the corner. Everywhere you turn, there’s a little vignette festooned with alligator portfolios, suede slippers and flowers to match (the arrangements change daily). Upstairs, there’s a row of double-doors, the knobs of which are made from more cologne bottles, natch, and behind each one is a color-coordinated wardrobe of men’s apparel and furnishings with, again, complimentary floral arrangements.Staff Reporter. (Phoebe playfully shows Ben the shoes) "Just do it." (Ben starts crying) Oh my God, oh, okay, was that too much pressure for him? JOEY: I know, but, I was the best, you know? I liked being the best. I don't know. Maybe I should just get outta the game. They need guys up in housewares to serve cheese. JULIE: Yes. Oh my god, are you kidding? Ross is so crazy about you, and I really wanted you to like me, and, it's probably me being totally paranoid, but I kinda got the feeling that maybe you don't. a b Dumitrache, Alina (2011-07-21). Bijan was married twice. His first wife of eighteen years was Sigi Pakzad [22] a Swiss-German whom he met while living in Europe in the 1960s; they had one daughter, Daniela Pakzad. [23] His second wife was Irish- Japanese interior designer [24] and model Tracy Hayakawa; they married in 1986 and divorced in 1995. They had two children together: [23] Alexandra and Nicolas. promises the bottle (for frivolous minds) with dysfunctions in the subadominal area. Plainer characters recognize in the form rather the famous fat-baked Kringel from the U.S. called Donut whose designation apparently rather advises against consumption (Do not). a b "Bijan Pakzad Obituary: The Obituary and Death Notice of Bijan Pakzad". Legacy.com . Retrieved 6 May 2011. The Times says family members put his age at 67 but public records list it as 71.a b Los Angeles Times: "More is more - Over-the-top isn't high enough for Bijan, whose boutique embraces excess" by Mimi Avins January 05, 2003 People can’t come in without an appointment. Which, by the way, is antithetical to most retail advice—you want to make it easy for shoppers to spend their money. What follows in the DryDown was probably the biggest surprise: Although the fragrance to the vintage version (flacon in the stylized, small "b") was probably significantly trimmed you have for hours what of the sandalwood orgy, which you mistaken for incense. Wow! The, the, the tonka or vanilla that sends most here into ecstatic rapture is used so tastefully and subtly that even the "unsweet purists" don't mind it for a minute. The individual ingredients also do not have to be errochen individually. Their interaction is what gives the full fragrance experience. Dense, somewhat loud and riotous, but at the same time absolutely harmonious. As the fragrance type diagram aptly suggests, there's something here for everyone. "Bijan Men" is for me spicy, fresh, oriental, slightly leathery-smoky, green, minmal earthy, quite animalic, and it fits every season (apart from high summer) to every occasion - the titular egg-laying Wollmilchsau!
