About this deal

I haven't read the comics so I didn't really have any expectations when I saw the film. I have heard that the avid fans of the comic books complained that Keanu Reeves doesn't fit the role. That might be true but to me he really didn't seem that bad. He still has a very clear well defined body language which I feel makes up for his monotonous voice (at least to some degree). I went in to the cinema and saw the film with an open mind which is what I advise future viewers to do and not rely too heavily on what the critics say. Everything comes to a head when Tilda Swinton’s Gabriel captures Angela, dropping her in the hydrotherapy pool where her sister died, an echo of her sister’s fall. Gabriel now has all the ingredients for armageddon: the Spear of Destiny, the son of Satan, and a powerful psychic. While old-school private eyes cut through the shadows with legwork and clues, Constantine can do it with a visit to hell and a spell, one that reveals Gabriel as the architect of the approaching apocalypse.

Exorcism — bound, immobilized, and sealed the Hindu goddess Kali ( Hellblazer issue 180). During the Son of Man arc, Constantine managed to summon and bind a demon by making it physical thus rendering it powerless and vulnerable, before Header shoots it with a shotgun. John also uses the right kind of spell that can destroy gods ( The Trenchcoat Brigade) or destroy them ( The Fear Machine). Constantine can also bound, seal, and control powerful elementals such as Norfulthing. ( Hellblazer issue 246), and high level angels such as Archangel Gabriel ( Fear and Loathing) and the Guardian of Eden ( R.S.V.P.). John Constantine’s (Keanu Reeves) lighter from Francis Lawrence’s supernatural horror film Constantine. John Constantine was dying of lung cancer, brought on by his chain-smoking, and the character had a cigarette in his mouth throughout the film. His signature lighter appeared in many scenes. He is also one of the strongest characters in the DC universe with abilities like immunity from angelic magic, powerful healing and supreme close-quarter combat skills. Now story wise the film had some issues but they weren't as serious as many people claim they are. As I stated previously the film does drag a little and it does take a long time for the film to actually reveal its point but its the little things that are really interesting. The exorcism scene is very well done and the effects are generally very well made. Effects doesn't make a film, however, and in spite of the issues the film actually succeeds in telling the story it wants to and the ending is indeed a climax.

I sat there and thought, should I go around that corner and see if he is really there, or should I just eat my sandwich and leave? I opted for the latter; I thought it was the safest. I'm not making any claims to anything. I'm just saying that it happened. Strange little story." Half-breeds are really common in John Constantine’s world. They can either be half-demon or half-angel. They possess the ability to walk the earth and as such are responsible for maintaining balance on earth since full-fledged angels and demons cannot enter the mortal plane.

Angela Dodson (Rachel Weisz) is the only newcomer to Constantine’s inner circle. They’re brought together by death: Constantine’s terminal diagnosis and the death of Angela’s twin sister Isabel by suicide. Just as Angela helps facilitate Constantine’s arc from selfish to selfless, Constantine is the catalyst for Angela’s evolution. Lawrence choreographed it so that their movement in the frame — Angela from right to left, Constantine from left to right — creates the sense they’re “always heading toward one another,” on a collision course, fated to meet. Regular kismet. The complex plot by Archangel Gabriel (also seen in CW's Supernatural) can be confusing, but it ultimately boils down to his belief that humanity only ever finds its " nobler self" by way of horror and pain. By unleashing Hell on Earth, Gabriel believes that those who survive the ensuing horrific existence will have truly proven themselves worthy of God's love and, ultimately, a place in Heaven. Gabriel's intentions are ultimately the driving force of Constantine's plot, from the use of Balthazar the demon to find a host for Mammon to be reborn (via Isabel/Angela) to the discovery and delivery of the Spear of Destiny. Gabriel is really at the heart of it all.So there you have it! We hope that this list will help you find the perfect Constantine tattoo for you. Resurrection — In the graphic novel Pandemonium, he once allowed himself to be killed, but later resurrects himself by exiting the afterlife. On the surface, Constantine may seem to be the last character suitable to receive a YA title, given he started life as a flagship character in DC’s mature-readers Vertigo imprint. Yet this is actually John Constantine’s second appearance in the line, after last year’s Johnny Constantine and the Mystery of the Meanest Teacher, which was aimed at middle-school readers. Kami Garcia, who has written other DC YA graphic novels, joins forces with artist Issac Goodhart, colorist Ruth Redmond and letterer Steve Wands to tell a story of Constantine at the end of his adolescent years, where he must balance magic and fighting demons against the pressures of being a teenager. Apart from John Constantine, the two other most prominent characters of the Hellblazer comics are Lucifer Morningstar and the archangel Gabriel. Constantine's official debut was not until Swamp Thing #37. Moore describes the creation of Constantine as being drawn from a number of "really good ideas... about serial killers, the Winchester House, and... want[ing] to draw Sting in a story."[5] Calling these disparate strands a "big intellectual puzzle," Constantine was the result of "fit[ting] it all together." Initially created "purely to get Sting into the story," by the time of the 1985 San Diego ComicCon, Moore stated that "[i]t's turning into something more than that now."
