About this deal

ULTIMA has been faithfully recreated, with component upgrades for compatibility with modern power sources. For me, it would be history kinda repeating itself. In the 80's I started with a Hornet, and eventually I got an Ultima Pro, but about the same time Teenager years were drawing my attention elsewhere. You know, Battletech. GIANT STOMPY ROBOTS. Oh yeah girls and cars, but GIANT STOMPY ROBOTS. The car was driven by the Norwegian Eivind Loyd Pettersen, at the time the owner of the Norwegian Serpent, Basilisk, Tomo, CRP, Thorpe, Mirage, JG and Associated distributor. Jay Halsey came in a very close second with his RC10. So though the Scorpion was outdated at the time the RC10 was released, it still had a chance in the hands of talented mechanics and drivers for some time. The next step was trimming the body and painting the driver in orange from the outside. The Helmet looked too plastic like, due to the inside paint job and I have painted it a second time from the outside. By far the strongest and fastest brushed motor in my collection. I'm waiting for a LeMans 240SB and a LeMans 480T from Japan but for now this is the powertrain.

Each component has been faithfully designed and manufactured based on the specifications of the championship winning machine. The motor is a fully rebuild Trinity Horsepower 1987 World Champions with 13x2 turns and amazing 38.000rpm. Equipped with the same body used on the Tomahawk 2WD buggy, just like the original. Silver & pink stripe decals with a variety of logos recreate the signature color scheme of the Joel Johnson Spec. Side mirrors from the original have also been recreated.

I'd say they's an evolution change just between them. The Turbo Scorpion sat at the top of the trailing arm/metal suspension era. On the right surface, in good hands it could still hang with the RC10, but the RC10's design was still clearly the way forward (from a performance perspective). The Ultima on the other hand, was Kyosho's step toward making a car more in line with the RC10. The RC10 was completely dominant in the US until the Ultima came out. The Ultima remained its only real competition until the JRX2 was released. Newly designed front wheel shaft with kingpin offset delivers improved straight line running stability as well as controlled initial steering response.

While based on the original model, each part has been enhanced and modernized to meet the requirements of the latest RC systems & power sources. This kv motor thing is kind of stumping me!! I like good old USA RPM"s you know like the 427 Chevy Rat Motors Yes, indeed, I saw the same with the Turbo Scorpion and the Javelin. If you have something left, it is because you forgot it during the mount, or that they was a choice within the mount that justifies it. Gunmetal anodized aluminum motor guard is laser-printed with the Kyosho 60th anniversary logo, which is exclusive to the special limited-edition model. To celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Kyosho, we announce the release of the 1987 World Championships winning Joel Johnson replica Ultima! What with all of the rumours of Kyosho restructuring and the possibility of the Legendary Series being scrapped, I feared that the Turbo Optima would be the last one that we would see. Soft front and rear tires are included for racing performance. Inner sponges are also built into the front tires and deliver powerful grip and control.

Front and rear double wishbone suspension adopts the proven OPTIMA design. Similar front-rear geometry ensures handling stability at all speed ranges. Impact-resistant nylon lower arm combines with metal rod upper arm to enable camber adjustment. Upgrade with optional titanium adjust rod 38mm (No.92413) for both front and rear. In place of the mini steering servo that was fixed with double-sided tape, the modern version of the ULTIMA uses a servo mount compatible with modern low-profile servos that are popular today. The shape of the servo saver arm has also been changed. From what I can see, the Ultima (far from being my favorite in the Legendary series) is having some common elements with the Optima chassis class... And this probably also one of the reasons I didn't put it on my list of must have: when I was teenager, I dreamed about the Turbo Scorpion and about Optima/Javelin. I never dreamt about the Ultima, probably because there was the Optima... Actually, the word on those were that they worked like crap and didn't last long before the gear got chewed up. I don't think you'll find a single positive review of those clutch bells.Equipped with +2mm offset rear wheel hub. Wide tread setting is available when combined with the included 1mm spacers. Then after an hour of dry time, two layers of white and after another hour two layers of bright silver For me this is more of a resto for both the ultima and optima but both a playable resto trying to digest all the new stuff

Rear gearbox is equipped with ball differential that produces traction stability without affecting road grip.Unassembled chassis kit includes wheels and tires for front and rear, unpainted body, and rear wing. I'm taking it for a spin on the super flat factory floor tomorrow (when our production has gone home) and upload a video later
