About this deal

The spool on the BP-10 Fast Drag Big Pit offers long casting potential. Constructed from aluminium, the spool is fitted with a line guard and is fitted with dual Spot On line clips. Spot On is Nash’s patented line clip design that allows you to fish accuracy and consistently, without worrying about causing damage to your line. Level Wind line lay ensures that you achieve perfect line lay on the retrieve – helping you get those extra few meters with each cast. The point I am making is just because we are bringing out really low price reels, that doesn't mean they are going to be rubbish. The whole philosophy of the H-Gun brand came about because there was so much absolute crap at the bottom end, and we were concerned that people taking up carp fishing might have such a bad experience with their gear letting them down that they wouldn't enjoy it, and so give up. The philosophy of H-Gun is to make entry level product which offers reliability and won’t let you down.

The H-Gun BP-10 is fitted with a dual Spot On line clip. This allows you to fish two spots with total accuracy, perfect for when you’re using this rod as a spod or a marker. The Spot On technology ensures that you’re never at risk of damaging your line. PLEASE NOTE: All services are normally delivered within 48hours but this is not guaranteed as we cannot be held responsible for problems beyond our control. Both the Nash H-Gun FR-5 and FR-8 spare spools are fitted with a single spot on line clip. This means that you can fish on the clip to get full casting accuracy without worrying about causing any kind of line damage.

This is the odd-looking number that is associated with every reel (i.e 4.6:1). In this instance, it tells you that the spool rotates 4.6 times for each turn of the handle. In some cases, the higher the number is, the more line the reel can retrieve. Like the majority of big pit reels, the ACR 12000 has a front drag system that requires less than one turn to engage the reel from free spool mode. While Daiwa and Shimano may be known as the unofficial market leaders when it comes to manufacturing carp reels, Fox will almost always be mentioned in the same breath by many anglers. The H-Gun BP-10 boasts a multi-disc drag that allows you to switch between free spool and fight mode in just one turn. This enables you to capitalise on every power with aggression – resulting in more landed catches. Level Wind ensures that you get perfect line lay every time.

Avid are infants in comparison to some of the manufacturers on this list, but their products are excellent in terms of both quality and value. Before we take a look at the recommendations, there are a few factors that you should always consider before parting with your hard-earned cash: If you have a really lightweight rod and a really heavy big pit reel, it can feel slightly alien. On the flip-side, a really lightweight reel can sometimes feel unbalanced. It is definitely worth buying gear that works well together. The Nash BP range consists of four models (BP-4, BP-6, BP-10 & BP-12) and each have their own uses. The BP-4 was created to be used in conjunction with the Nash Sawn-Offs, the BP-6 is the ideal partner for the Nash Scope and Dwarf rods and the BP-12 was created for ultra-long distance fishing.

We recently caught up with Kevin Nash himself, who explained what the reels were all about and why they had been created and added to ever growing Nash range. Why make reels so cheap? The Nash sub brand H-Gun recognizes that an awful lot of people haven't got much spare cash, youngsters have little or are relying on parents, and it could be argued that if you're new to the sport its madness to go spending a lot of money on top end gear if you aren't going to take to it.
