About this deal

I have bought a new battery and need pour in the acid to activate it and then charge it. Will this charger work for thispurpose? February 23, 2017 Automatically applies an appropriate charge if voltage drops outside acceptable limits to ensure the battery voltage and condition remains perfect I tried what you suggested Matt, didn't seem to make any difference. Doesn't deliver any current to the discharged battery at all. The charger works fine on the other battery though, but the resting voltage of mine is about 10.1v, surely that's chargeable? Tempted to jump out to tesco and grab a cheapo charger and see if it works. I can't even use the other battery from the ZX7R in the 10R as its far too big. So far, it’s charged every single one, without fuss and in less than a day. The car battery (whose inactivity was one of the reasons I chose the Oximiser 3X) hasn’t needed charging yet – I’ll let you know. So, I need a charger that I can swap between bikes to leave running for 48 hours to charge ’em up and then swap to another of the five bikes in our shed. Oh, and because we both work mostly from home now, I also need something that can top-up the car battery too, because that sits mostly outside in all weathers.

The ‘charge’ mode gives a constant current of either 0.8 Amps or 3.6 Amps depending on the charge mode selected. Fast and efficient charging in all modes keeps charge times short and reduces main power consumption Simple To Connect – Even as a newbie, I was able to connect the product without any difficulty. Once I had accessed the battery in my motorcycle, I clipped on the crocodile clips (positive first!), then attached them to the Oximiser device using the white connector. I then plugged the device into the mains, and it began working instantaneously. If you intend to keep the charger connected long term, the permanent fixture can be attached simply by securely screwing it to the battery. The whole process can be done in under 15 minutes: it couldn’t be easier!Battery chargers have come a long way in the last 10 years. Time was you needed a different unit for your bike from your car and the charging technology was clumsy and a bit ‘brute-force’. Smart chargers changed all that and many, like this one, have algorithms that assess the condition of your battery and apply the optimal charging cycle to keep it healthy. My only real niggle is that the mains lead is short, making connection to a battery that’s still in the bike a bit clumsy at times, needing an extension lead. However, they require very different charging characteristics, and as such, you should be careful not to pair the wrong charger with the battery, as this can have a negative effect on the battery and can even be dangerous. The Oximiser 900 is an essential battery management system and designed specifically for smaller batteries such as those used on motorcycles and ATV's. And this one from CTEK is superbly clever. Not only does it do everything you'd expect: charging, recovering, conditioning and maintaining whatever vehicle battery you connect it to (and yes, it does them all, from Lead Acid to Lithium-ion in all wet, AGM, Gel and other forms) – it does it without any programming from you.

If this is hooked up to the mains and battery whilst still hooked to the bike with the O connector cables, can it be used to jump start thebike? January 7, 2020 The Oxford Oximiser 3800 is capable of charging batteries from 1.2Ah up to 125Ah making it capable for carapplications. Is this charge suitable for Lithium Batteries. I have read some manufacturer statements saying as long as they are not left on for long periods and the chargers don't charge at 15+ volts they should befine? January 29, 2018 The solution, of course, is to leave your bike with its battery on charge when it’s not being used. This is particularly true for bikes that are laid up for winter, and in this case, a battery optimiser/maintainer can be useful, as it not only charges the battery but it carries out a series of conditioning cycles. The OXIMISER 601 is a modern charger designed to charge, optimise and prolong the life of a 12V ...

AnswerThe Oximiser 3X can be used on lithium batteries, however all our other chargers have not been tested to be used on lithium batteries. Aprilia RS125 - Kawasaki ZXR400 - Triumph Street Triple R - Suzuki GSXR1000 L3 - BMW R1200GS - Kawasaki Z1000 - Kawasaki ZX10R C1H - Ducati Multistrada 1200 S Touring - Suzuki Hayabusa The battery on my bike is a AGM (absorbed glass Matt) sealed lead acid battery. This type of battery isn't listed for the this charger. Is the Oxford Oximiser 900 suitable to use on this type ofbattery? July 30, 2019 These put some load on the battery so that it isn’t simply under constant charge, as this can also, paradoxically, damage the battery and reduce its capacity as well. If the battery is deeply discharged to approximately 4.1 Volts, the Oximiser 900 will charge at up to 900mA/hr until it reaches 11.8 Volts and the bulk charge mode (The Oximiser 900 will otherwise apply a gentle charge up-to 200mA/h to ensure the battery is brought up to a fullcharge).

There are several chargers from CTEK in this list, and this CS ONE option is the top dog of the range. It's a smart charger that can repair, maintain, charge and detect bad cells, as well as a host of other features. Ok, that's a bit flippant because, in addition to those scant requirements, I also want it to be wall mounted, with a hard connection to my battery, so I don't have to faff about with crocodile clips.

The only Oximiser that Oxford list that is suitable for lithium LifePO4 batteries is the 3X, and so we would not recommend using the Oximiser900. Bin the Oximiser and buy a Ctek. Then you know you have definitely eliminated a potential problem. Cheap battery conditioners are a false economy. Oxford products are built down to a price and only exist to provide dealers with a profit margin. Maintain Mode - Automatically applies an appropriate charge if voltage drops outside acceptable limits to ensure the battery voltage and condition remains perfect Tested by Richard Newland for 4 months. Quality 5/5, Value 3/5. Bike batteries are getting smaller and lighter – but the stress our bikes put on them with ever-more powerful electronics systems and auxiliary add-ons is getting greater than ever. It doesn't take much to find you're out of juice when you hit the magic starter button. But if you don't have bike storage with mains electricity, what do you do? You get one of these. If the battery is damaged, the Oximiser won’t attempt to recover it. If the battery is below 8V it will display as ‘weak’ and won’t attempt to recover it. If the battery is holding more than 8V the Oximiser will go into ‘recover’ mode, giving the battery a soft start charge at very low current. If the initial voltage is 12.5V or more, it goes straight into ‘charge’ mode.

Does it mean you can connect it to your bike whilst you are riding it, or just when it is instorage? November 30, 2011 A professional switch mode charger designed to automatically maintain, optimise and prolong the life of a 12-volt battery. It can be left permanently connected to provide guaranteed long-term battery care. Heavily discharged batteries as low as 4.1V can be charged if the battery is not damaged. What length are cables that come with this, ie mains plug to charger and charger to bike. Also what difference between this and aniversary edition, same price except for a few coloured buttons on front? September 20, 2018 The Oximiser 3X is Oxford's most versatile, most powerful, multi-purpose maintenance product. It offers not one, but THREE automated charging programs for differing battery sizes - perfect for bikes, cars and even leisure batteries! So, if you have multiple toys in your garage, it's the only battery optimiser you are ever likely to need. The Oximiser is designed to be plugged in and left on to maintain a battery, and so should really have been plugged in before leaving the bike for two weeks. The charger will go through cycles(recover, bulk charge and maintain) and two hours would not be long enough to give the battery a full charge. If this had been left on over night you should find that the battery would be fullycharged. Can this oximiser be used with VRLA (valve regulated lead acid) battery, manythanks. December 6, 2017 The other important point to consider is, depending on the brand, age, condition, and number of 'life cycles' for the offending battery it may be BER (Beyond Economical Repair). Knowing what the Oximiser 3X is doing in each cycle allows me to now use it properly and leave it connected for long enough to go through the full cycles; I find it simple to understand what’s going on and what state my batteries are in. It’s much easier to understand than my old Optimate III because the display tells you the voltage, charge rate and whether the battery is strong or weak.
