About this deal

The average lifespan of a rainbow shark is between four and six years long, although some have been known to live for as long as eight years. This species was once abundant in the waters of Southeast Asia, but have dwindled in numbers in recent years. Scientists believe that the damming of certain rivers such as the lower Xe Bangfai has led to fewer rainbow sharks in recent years. It is a peaceful yet energetic fish that can be naturally playful. But, if with unsuitable tank mates, it can turn quite aggressive. Through attending the Community Connect Fair in 2018, the family was pleasantly surprised to find out that Chang Xun has also a keen sense of fashion and they signed him up with the Singapore Fashion Runway course. He participated in fashion shows walking the runway with much confidence, and this may be another possible career option for him. Accordingly, you should avoid placing rainbow sharks with tank mates that tend to dwell on the bottom as well.

One product of this approach is a generation of students who believe that race, gender and class don’t matter – only the “human race” exists. These students have been brought up thinking that people are all the same inside and will succeed if they just work hard enough. All the fish mentioned in this article are social fish that need to be kept in groups to be happy. One common question that pops up is whether you can put together a school of one of each different species and unfortunately, the answer is generally no. Rainbowfish are generally peaceful, community fish, so they can easily be mixed with other tropical community fish, again, provided their water quality requirements are compatible.

New questions

Apartheid capitalised on differences in race, culture and gender. When it was finally abolished in 1994, South Africa introduced a new ideology in the name of nation building: rainbowism. This emphasised common ground and sameness rather than a focus on difference and was meant to fight racism and discrimination. When sunlight hits a rain droplet, some of the light is reflected. The electromagnetic spectrum is made of light with many different wavelengths, and each is reflected at a different angle. Thus, spectrum is separated, producing a rainbow. Our walk created space for interesting conversations about the legacy of apartheid and how South Africa still values whiteness, masculinity and heteronormativity. It was the start of something valuable. But we had some reservations. A need for disruption

A dark sand substrate can be used to mimic the turquoise rainbowfish’s natural habitat and bring out its stunning color. Plants The turquoise rainbow fish is endemic to the Southern Highlands Province of Papua New Guinea. It inhabits Lake Kutubu and the River Soro, which originates from that lake.

Confronting privilege

The water level should be low, and flow kept gentle for good results. Use an air-powered or sponge filter, and no substrate is required. That’s much longer than other aquarium fish such as bettas, which may only live for about two years. However, it is much less than goldfish, which can have a lifespan of up to twenty years. Silvertip Tetras are delightful little fish known for their lively personalities and distinctive silver-tipped fins.
