I have hit the machine several times and depending on the force of impact, it can mess up the calibration. I have noticed that balls sometimes start going high after I hit one into the internals. Power cycling the machine re-runs the calibration process and solves the issue. Most impacts dont cause this problem, but once in a while it happens. Hitting the outside of the machine has never caused this, its only when I fire one directly into the opening.My second SLA battery never provided maximum play time and, within three months, wasn’t lasting longer than an hour. I consistently charged it and used the snooze feature to conserve battery when not hitting. I reached out to Spinfire because I was in the warranty period, and they replaced it without issue. So, not only is the Spinfire Pro 2 portable, adjustable, and capable of top performance, but it also offers incredible value. Usually played Tennis with my wife, but lately she get promoted and spend more time with new boss then me so I complained and my wife as good as she is bought me This machine so she can spend time with new boss I can play tennis and life is GOOD ))) I have teaching for over 35 years and over those years of feeding thousands of balls. I have now something that will prolong my teaching career by giving my hands a break from feeding so many balls!
The great thing about these tennis ball machines is that they never complain or argue, never cancel last minute on you and are always ready when you are. The pressureless balls have worked well. They feel maybe a tiny bit firmer than a standard ball, but its hard to notice. Weight is exactly the same as standard. If weight concerns you, I’d encourage you to opt for the external battery, which will reduce how much you have to lift to get it in and out of a car. I don’t expect most players to struggle with the 47 lb weight because the machine is compact, and handles make lifting relatively easy, but you’ll have to go with your instinct. With that said, if I were on the hunt for a used machine, these changes would convince me to buy the latest model. That’s because most of the used Spinfire’s for the foreseeable future will be the Pro 2 v1, and the nominal savings of a used machine likely isn’t worth missing out on the new features.
